Chapter 58 Trystan's Regret
Anushka's P.O.V.
I shouldn't be surprised that Stewart had a child out there that my mom and I knew nothing about, but I am. He wasn't the smartest man, so I'm shocked he never threw that in our faces.
"I need to block his access to our building and computer system immediately. If he's there, it's because Stewart wanted him there. Why though? What would having a spy in the office give him?" I look at Jordan.
"I will block his access to everything for you. Jordan, you may want to have one of your men at the office if he decides to show up," Raymond says.
"Thank you. I'll let building security and the people in my office know he is not allowed to be there," I say as Jordan squeezes my hand.
"There's something else. Phillip was the one who broke into your apartment. I have a video of him entering the building the day before you got back from the island. I didn't know it was him until I had pictures of your staff to compare with the security footage. I will see what else I can find out about him, but that's what I have so far." I can't believe he broke into my apartment, or why he would want to.
"Thanks, Raymond," Jordan says as he disconnects the call. I sigh.
"Should I call him tonight to tell him he's fired? I thought I had eliminated all the snakes when I took over. I don't understand why he broke into my home. He had to be looking for something, but what?" I lie back, and Jordan lies with me, gently wrapping his arm around my waist. I have the head of the bed slightly elevated because lying flat hurts.
"Go ahead and call him. I'd like to hear his excuse if he gives you one." Jordan hands me my phone, and I go to my employee contacts and find Phillip's name. After I click on it, I put the phone on speaker.
"Hello?"
"Phillip? This is Anushka Wilkins." I can’t wait to change my last name to Holt. Having Stewart's last name makes me feel sick.
"Hi, boss. I'm surprised you're calling me. I heard you were shot recently." He sounds smug, but I try not to let it get to me.
"Yes, I was. I'm calling you to tell you that you're fired." I stop to see how he reacts. When he starts laughing, a chill runs down my spine.
"Let me guess, you found out we have the same dad, and we know how much you hate him. That's cool. I don't like working for a bitch, anyway." Well, it looks like Stewart didn't tell him everything.
"Actually, we don't have the same dad. Stewart Wilkins is not my father." He doesn't say anything for a minute.
"That's not true. He would have told me." It's my turn to laugh.
"I don't think your dad told you everything. Before I go to the police, I want to ask you something. Why did you break into my apartment?" Phillip gasps lightly, but I hear it. He clearly didn't think we knew about him breaking into my place.
"Dad sent me there to look for something. I didn't take anything because I didn't find what he was looking for. How do you even know I was there? I was able to get past your security system." He's acting so casual, as though this is no big deal.
"What did Stewart want you to look for?" I'm shaking with anger, but I keep my voice steady.
"A flash drive. He said it was in a hidden section of his old desk at the office, and he assumed you were using his desk, but I couldn't find it." The idiot didn't think I would get rid of his old desk. I wanted no reminders of him in the office, so I completely remodeled it. However, all the old stuff is in a storage facility because I haven't decided what to do with it.
"Don't show up at the office tomorrow. Security is aware that you're not allowed in the building. The police will contact you about the break-in." I disconnect the call before he can say anything else.
"Tomorrow, I need someone to check my storage unit for the flash drive. I want to know what's on it that's so important that Stewart would have Phillip break into my home to get it. Also, I want to notify the police that he was the one who broke in." Maybe I'll get some answers about why Stewart was trying to kidnap and then kill me.
"Okay. I'll have one of the men go over there in the morning. You'd better get some rest." He kisses my forehead and prepares to get up to go to our bed, but I stop him.
"Can you sleep with me tonight?" I feel better when he's with me.
"Are you sure? I've been scared that I'll hurt you by accident when I'm sleeping." I slide over slightly to give him more room to get comfortable.
"That's a risk I'm willing to take. I love you.” Jordan kisses me gently and turns onto his side, and puts his arm around me. Tonight, I may get the best sleep I've had in a while.
"I love you too."

Trystan's P.O.V.
I'm nervous that I may have started something that I'll later regret. Franco is eagerly looking for this unknown woman, who's a member of the Kondrati family. If she isn't living on the compound and no one knows about her, that probably means she isn't involved in their business.
"I found her," Franco says, and vomit threatens to come into my mouth. "Meet Anushka Wilkins. She wasn't raised by the Kondrati's. Her father listed on her birth certificate is Stewart Wilkins, but there's a DNA test he had run that shows he's not her father. I started looking into him and found a file indicating that Christov is her biological father. I know where she’s currently staying, and I have a video of Christov and his sons visiting her building."
We all gather around the computer screen, and I see a young, beautiful woman with blonde hair. She looks like the Kondrati's. Deonte chuckles next to me and slaps my shoulder.
"Well, men, I think it's time we show Anushka what it means to be tied to her family. After we fuck her, we'll send her to Christov in pieces." I look at Deonte in horror. What have I done?
