Chapter 261 Plans
Galdino's P.O.V.
I stare at Dakota in shock. Did she say she knows who my sibling is and that they are here? I walk over to the window she's looking out of, but I don't see anyone.
"Who do you think is my brother or sister?" I ask her.
"Raul. Arkadi's boyfriend. Last night, I dreamt that I was missing something, and I heard someone laughing, but I didn't know who it was. I just heard Raul laugh, and it was the same as the one I heard in my dream. He and Arkadi just went into the guest house. What do you think we should do to prove my theory?" she asks. I haven't had many interactions with Raul. During breakfast, he seemed to stay away from me. Does he think I know about him or suspect who he is? He seemed nice enough, and his food was delicious.
"Maybe we should talk to him first and see if he admits to anything." I don't doubt Dakota, but I also know she's been under an immense amount of stress lately.
"I'm going to have Noah look into his past. Arkadi said he's Italian and a chef. That doesn't narrow it down too much. However, I do wonder how he ended up in Russia. If I'm right, I feel bad for Arkadi because he truly loves that man. I trust Arkadi, but I didn't do the same checks on Raul as I usually do with everyone else." Dakota begins pacing. I've gotten used to her doing that while she's thinking.
"What checks are you talking about?" Valentina asks.
"When I first meet people, I look into their eyes. People can't hide their true feelings if you look into their eyes. I also feed them bits of information to gauge their reactions. That's how I know whether I can trust them. A few have gotten through the cracks, but not many," Dakota replies as she continues pacing, and I smile slightly at Valentina. Dakota is a true human dirtbag detector.
"Let's talk to Noah and see what he can find, and then we'll go to the guest house and pay him a visit," I say. Ari stands and puts his arm around Dakota; I think that's the only thing that can make her stop pacing. I'm really happy they have each other.
"Dad, are you sure Grandpa never said anything about someone claiming to be his son?" Ari asks me.
"Not to me, he didn't. However, if he thought it was a fake claim, he most likely wouldn't have said anything to me or anyone else." We leave the bedroom and go downstairs to the office. Noah and Kylie are already there. I think they spend most of their time in the office.
"Is Nikolas here?" I ask Dakota.
"I'm not sure. Why?" she asks.
"If a man claimed to be my dad's son, Nikolas may have heard about it. I'm going to see if he's with Rain. If not, I'll call him." Valentina and I leave the office and go back upstairs to Rain and Luka's room. I knock, and Rain opens the door a second later.
"Oh, I thought you were Nikolas," she says nervously.
"I was actually coming to see if he was here. Are you expecting him?" I ask. Luka joins her at the door and takes her hand. She looks relieved and more confident as she replies.
"Yes. He should be here any minute. We're supposed to go to the city for lunch and walk around Central Park. Something neither my dad nor I has ever done." She smiles, and I smile back.
"That sounds like fun. I would like to speak with him briefly before you go." Just as the words are out of my mouth, the doorbell rings. The four of us head downstairs, and Nikolas looks surprised that he's met by a welcoming party.
