Chapter 239 The Help
Dakota's P.O.V.
As soon as I got my mom and dad to calm down, I had them put Gavin on the phone. I know the building has good security, but Gavin and Bobby have enhanced it even more on my parents' floor.
"Hey, Dakota," Gavin says when he gets on the phone.
"Do you have cameras outside the apartment? I want to know who took my sister and who left that note," I say as I grab Ari, Xavier, Sarah, Tyler, and Shea. They are all coming with me whether they like it or not.
"I'm already looking at them. The man looks familiar, but I don't know where from. I'll send the video to you now." I look at my phone and zoom in on the man hanging the note on my parents' door.
"It's Jeff. His mom, Belinda, is my housekeeper, and he was training to work security for us. Neither of them will be working for me anymore. Tell my mom I'll call her once we have Khloe." I disconnect the call as I get into the SUV and call Noah.
"What do you need me to do?" he asks as soon as he answers.
"Text me Jeff and Belinda's home address and find out who they are working for. They aren't smart enough to take Khloe on their own. Someone must have put them up to this. Jeff has been in the negotiation room; he knows what I do to people who betray me or hurt my family." I get a text with Jeff and Belinda's address and give it to Xavier.
"I'll let you know as soon as I find something. Be careful," Noah says before hanging up. Ari takes my hand.
"What do you want to do when we get there?" he asks. I think about it, and if they have guns, I don't want Khloe or any of us getting shot.
"I'm not even sure that's where they're keeping her, but it's the best we have for right now. Park down the street, and we can spread out. Tyler and Shea will go to the back door, and Ari and I will go to the front. Xavier, I want you and Sarah to look in the windows and try to find Khloe." Xavier stops about half a block from the small house, and I see movement from one of the side windows.
"That's my girl. Change of plans. Xavier and Sarah go get Khloe. Ari and I will still go to the front, and Tyler and Shea will go to the back. Don't knock. I'm sure they'll be running out in a minute when they realize she's gone, and we can catch them by surprise." We all run toward the house after we get out of the vehicle. Ari and I are standing on the front porch when Jeff opens the door. I punch him in the face, and he stumbles back into the house.
"Thanks for inviting us in, jackass," I say as Ari and I walk into the house. Belinda, who's behind him, freezes when she sees me and then tries to run. Shea comes from around the corner and grabs Belinda's hair.
"I'm glad you two aren't criminal masterminds because finding you was far too easy. When we saw Jeff on the camera at my parents' house, leaving the note, we knew you would have her here. So, who put you up to it?" I turn when the door opens behind me, and Xavier, Sarah, and Khloe walk in. I hug my sister, and she beams at me. I'm twice her age, but she's already a couple of inches taller than me.
"Good job sneaking out the window," I tell her.
"Thanks. I kept trying to think like you, and I knew you wouldn't sit around waiting for someone to save you. Can I go to the negotiation room when you take them?" she asks. The last thing I want my baby sister to see is people being killed. However, maybe I can let her get a few punches of her own in and then send her away before it gets gory.
"Let's talk about it in a few minutes. Right now, I need to identify those who need to be punished." We go into the living room, where one man is already on the floor, with another being restrained by Tyler. I don't recognize the man on the floor, but I do recognize the other one.
"I knew there had to be a snake involved because Jeff and Belinda aren't smart enough to come up with something like this," I say as I look at Ari.
"Marco, why would you do something so stupid?" Ari asks. Marco is Lorenzo Farino's son. They were one of the families we didn't think we would have any problems with because they were close to Galdino.
"I know who you are. You're Antonio's dad. I've seen you when you dropped him off to play with my brother," Khloe says.
"You used your son to get close to my family? Why? We thought you were on our side." I ask as I take a step toward him. At least he has the decency to look scared.
