Chapter 144 The Uncles
Dakota's P.O.V.
We have Yegor and the man who was with him tied to chairs in the negotiation room. I never thought I'd be in this situation with one of my own uncles. I loved him.
"What do you think you're going to do to me, little girl?" Yegor asks. Right now, Sarah, Galdino, and a few of Galdino's men are here. I'm waiting for my other uncles to come. I called my mom and dad to tell them about Noah and Yegor. I asked them to stay with Ari and Luka. I don't want my mom to see what I'm going to do to her brother. I also let Dina and Gavin know that Noah was safe.
"You'll find out soon enough. I'm just waiting for your brothers." I turn when the door opens. My Uncle Kozy, Uncle Yorkie, Uncle Vicki, and Uncle Zaky come in and look shocked at who's in the chairs.
"What's going on, Dakota?" Uncle Kozy asks as he kisses my head. He's always been my favorite.
"Would you like to tell them, or shall I?" I ask Yegor. He smirks at me.
"You're crazy if you think they're going to take part in this. You'll be the one dead soon, not me." I don't react as I stare at him.
"Yegor and this piece of shit kidnapped Noah and took him to one of the warehouses. They also kidnapped an innocent woman off the street, who they were going to kill as a demonstration to show Noah what they were going to do to him. When I got there, Noah had gotten himself and Kylie free and broken this bastard's nose. Yegor said that I shouldn't be the head of the family because I'm a woman, and I messed everything up when Grandpa Chrissy shut down some of the businesses. Do you four agree with him?" I turn to my uncles and look them each in the eyes.
"You kidnapped Noah and a woman? Why would you do that?" Uncle Kozy asks. He's the least violent of my uncles, but right now, he looks ready to kill.
"Dad was crazy, leaving everything to her. She doesn't know anything about running this family. It should have all been mine. We need to stick together and take it back from her." I ignore Yegor as I watch my other uncles.
"We knew from the time she was a little girl that she would be taking over. He groomed her to be the head of this family. Dakota was born to lead. She took to this a lot faster than any of us, and she's super smart. Everything you wanted to do would have ruined us, and we would all have ended up in jail. Dad did the right thing, putting her in charge. She will keep this family going long after we're all gone." Uncle Zaky puts his arm around me. He's my second-favorite uncle. I love them all, but I've been closer to some than others. Yegor had me fooled for a long time, but I noticed how uncomfortable Noah has always been around him. Out of all of them, his betrayal is the least surprising.
"Bullshit. She's nothing but a woman who thinks she knows everything. She's the reason Dad is dead. If Dominick had shot her as he'd planned, then Dad would still be here." I walk over to Yegor and kick him hard in the chest, making his chair fall backward, and his head hits the ground.
"I did not kill Grandpa Chrissy. Is that something else you lied about? Was Dominick really your son?" One of Galdino's men sits Yegor back up.
"No, he wasn't my son, but that doesn't mean I don't wish he had killed you. Come on, guys, I'm your brother. Untie me and help me kill this bitch." I look at Galdino, who looks ready to blow but doesn't say anything.
"You may be our brother, but the minute you betrayed Dakota, you lost your right to be part of this family," Uncle Vicki says. I look at Uncle Yorkie, who steps behind me. He's the only one who hasn't spoken.
"Dakota is the one responsible for helping Luka. She's why I have him, Corrine, and my other kids. I owe my life and happiness to her. Dakota had been running this family long before Dad was gone. You were just too dumb to see it. We stand behind our boss." I turn to Yegor, and his mouth is open.
"You have got to be kidding me. You can't hurt me because we took that big dummy. If we killed him, we'd be putting him out of his misery." I see red when he talks about Noah. As I lunge for him, Uncle Kozy gets to him first. He punches Yegor in the face, breaking his nose.
"Noah is not dumb. He's a hundred times smarter than you. That kid is more a part of this family than you are," Uncle Kozy yells at him. I look at Galdino's men and nod toward the other man.
"Can you take care of him?" They nod, and I turn back to Yegor.
