Chapter 37
As Alyssa woke up, she found herself wrapped in Luther’s arms. Overwhelmed with joy, she couldn’t believe that she had finally given herself to a man, especially when that man was Luther. Sitting up, she gazed down at him as he peacefully slept beside her, feeling a deep sense of happiness. However, a hint of worry crept into her thoughts. She wondered if Luther would still want her as his bride if Allisa suddenly returned. She knew he promised her that he would love her forever but she couldn’t stop her mind from thinking sad thoughts, especially when they were just days before the wedding.
Lost in her thoughts, Alyssa didn’t realize that Luther had woken up as well. “If you keep staring at me like that, I might just have to take you again,” he playfully teased, leaning in to kiss her lips.
Caught up in the embrace, they didn’t notice they had an audience until a voice interrupted their intimate moment. Startled, they both sat up, using the bed sheets to cover their nakedness. It was Allisa’s mother.
Confusion and embarrassment filled the air as Lady Wordsworth questioned their actions. “What’s this?” she asked disapprovingly. “You two aren’t even married yet, and you’ve slept with each other?”
Luther, respectful yet firm, responded, “With all due respect, future mother-in-law, we are both adults. It’s not compulsory that we wait until the wedding night.”
Allisa’s mother, her disappointment evident, retorted, “And with all due respect, your majesty, it’s easy for you to say that because you are a playboy. You have been with many girls. But my daughter is different, and Allisa, I thought I raised you to be better than this.”
Alyssa attempted to explain, but her mother interrupted, expressing her disapproval. “The wedding will be taking place soon. Couldn’t you have waited until then? You’ve really disappointed me.”
Wanting to calm the situation, Luther intervened, placing a hand over Alyssa’s mouth before she could respond. “Lady, you don’t have to scold us. We love each other, and we are old enough to make our own choices,” he said.
Lady Wordsworth looked sternly at the king who was to be her future son-in-law, disappointed in his actions. “Your Majesty”.
Unexpectedly, Luther defended Alyssa and their love, breaking the tension in the room. “With all due respect, I love Alyssa and I will always respect her, no matter what. So rest assured, My Lady, she is my life, and I will do everything in my power to make her happy. We understand your concerns, and we apologize if our actions have upset you. But please try to see that our love for each other is genuine and strong.”
Still holding Alyssa’s hand, he took a deep breath and continued, “We believe that our connection goes beyond societal norms and expectations. We want to build a life together based on trust, love, and openness. We want to be each other’s partners in both the good and the difficult times.”
Allisa’s mother let out a heavy sigh, her rigid expression softening slightly. “I just want the best for my daughter,” she admitted, her voice filled with worry. “I know Luther has a reputation, but I can see the love in your eyes, my dear. I hope you both meant what you said.”
Luther nodded earnestly, his eyes filled with determination. “I meant every word, Lady, I’m willing to prove myself, to show you that I am committed to making Mitchell happy for the rest of our lives.”
Alyssa tightened her grip on Luther’s hand, her voice filled with sincerity. “We understand your concern, Mum, and I appreciate your love for me, but please have faith in us. We are ready to face the challenges together, to support and care for one another through thick and thin.”
Lady Wordsworth studied their faces carefully for a moment before finally relaxing her posture. “Very well,” she said, her voice softer. “If you are both serious about this, then I’ll trust your judgment. But remember, love is not just about passion, it requires understanding, compromise, and commitment.”
“We completely understand,” Luther replied, a genuine smile spreading across her face, relieved by the cautious acceptance from Allisa’s mother. “I’m grateful to you, My Lady,, for caring about our happiness. I promise to cherish and respect Alyssa, always.”
With the tension eased and the conversation concluded, the three of them settled into a more comfortable discussion about wedding plans and future aspirations. Alyssa couldn’t help but feel grateful for Alyssa’s mother’s presence in their lives, for her concern and love, reminding her that family support is essential in any relationship.
As she looked back at Luther, she couldn’t help but feel a renewed sense of determination to make their love withstand any challenges that may come their way. Together, they would prove that their love was the kind to last forever.

As Alyssa made her way through the beautifully adorned garden, she couldn’t help but feel a flutter of excitement in her chest. The day of their wedding was very near, and the air was filled with anticipation and joy. She looked around at the meticulously arranged flowers, the elegant white decorations, and the sparkling lights that seemed to dance in the evening breeze. It was truly a fairytale setting.
As she approached the party area, she saw Luther conversing with the event planner, discussing the final details to ensure everything would run smoothly. Luther’s eyes immediately met hers, and he couldn’t suppress the grin that spread across his face. Alyssa felt her heart skip a beat as she walked towards him, the anticipation building inside her.
“There you are, my beautiful bride-to-be,” Luther said, his voice filled with adoration. He stepped forward, taking her hand in his, and planted a tender kiss on her forehead.
Alyssa blushed, feeling the warmth of their connection radiate throughout her being. “And you, my handsome groom-to-be,” she said, returning the kiss with a gentle peck on his cheek. “I can’t believe today is finally here.”
Luther squeezed her hand, his eyes filled with affection. “It’s a day I’ve been dreaming about since the moment I met you, Alyssa. And soon, you’ll be my wife.”
A sense of disbelief and joy washed over Alyssa, realizing how far they had come since the day they first laid eyes on each other. From strangers, to enemies, to soulmates – their love had grown stronger with each passing moment.
They spent the next few hours mingling with the guests, sharing laughter and creating beautiful memories with family and friends who had gathered to celebrate their love. Their families, though initially hesitant, had come to understand the depth of their commitment and had embraced them wholeheartedly.
Allisa’s mother, who had witnessed her daughter’s journey towards love, couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. She approached Alyssa and Luther during a quiet moment, pulling them into a warm embrace.
“I never thought I’d see this day,” she whispered, her voice laced with emotion. “To see my daughter so happy, so loved. Luther, take care of my girl and cherish her with all your heart.”
Luther nodded, his eyes reflecting genuine gratitude. “I promise you, Mrs. Roberts, I will protect and love Alyssa for their whole lives. She means the world to me, and I will always do everything in my power to make her happy.”
Lady Wordsworth smiled, her eyes shimmering with tears of joy. “I know you will, Luther. You have proven time and again that you are the perfect match for my daughter. I trust that the two of you will have a beautiful future together.”
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the garden, Alyssa and Luther stole a quiet moment away from the festivities. Hand in hand, they walked towards a secluded area of the garden, where a swing nestled between fragrant blossoms.
“This day feels like a dream,” Alyssa whispered, leaning into Luther’s embrace as they swayed gently on the swing. “I’m so grateful for everything that has brought us here.”
Luther pressed a tender kiss to the top of her head. “Every moment we’ve shared, every obstacle we’ve overcome, has led us to this point. And now, we get to build a lifetime of happiness together.”
They sat in comfortable silence, the sounds of laughter and celebration echoing in the distance. Alyssa couldn’t help but reflect on the journey they had taken to reach this day. From the first sparks of attraction to the deep connection they had forged, their love had grown stronger through each trial and challenge.
“I love you so much, Alyssa,” Luther whispered, his voice filled with heartfelt emotion. “You are my rock, my guiding light. I can’t imagine my life without you.”
Alyssa gazed into his eyes, her heart overflowing with love. “And I love you, Luther. You have become my anchor, my source of strength. With you by my side, I know that anything is possible.”
As the night sky filled with twinkling stars, Alyssa and Luther made a silent vow to cherish and support each other for all the years to come. Their love was a beacon of hope and happiness, guiding them through the ups and downs of life.
