188. The young Alpha saves her

Alpha Zero is pacing back and forth outside in front of the door where my aunt, Alpha Xander, and Maleficus are confined assisted by two of the pack's female doctors. He was supposed to be inside until Maleficus decided to keep him out for the pack doctors are being intimidated by his presence and he is freaking out which is not helping at all. I watch my father as he drinks whiskey in his goblet. He looks calm despite the situation, I am trying to act normal and lean my back on the couch yet I am anxious about my aunt and the baby.

"How long before it is finished? They've been in there for hours!?"

The warriors standing beside the doors look down and keep their mouths shut, none of them knows how long. They are also afraid to speak to Alpha Zero as his temper is rising.

"Please Alpha Zero, have a seat and take something to drink. Jasmin will be fine Maleficus assured us alright."

He move to sit down in front of us and let out a harsh breath. "I could have stayed inside but the old man wouldn't let me."

He gritted his teeth and look at my father with obvious disdain in his eyes. I cleared my throat and find my words to say something to ease his nerves.

"You should be keeping yourself together Alpha Zero, soon your baby will come out and she wouldn't be happy looking at his father like this."

The mess at the back of his hair and the sweat on his forehead made him look older than he really is. Not to mention his furrowed brows and wrinkled clothing with speaks of blood on his sleeves and neckline. His annoyed gaze turn to me and I meet his eyes. If this happened a few years back I would have looked away out of respect but right now I am the Alpha King so I held his gaze until he look down and exhaled.

The waiting area became silent in the next hours the only thing that is heard in the halls is the pouring of whiskey by my father on his glass and the ice he takes from the bucket.

"Good news your Alpha Zero!"

The door opened and Maleficus elaborate on the news, his face is bright which means it was a success.

"Maleficus! Thank you very much, can I get inside now?"

Alpha Zero immediately got up on his feet and move to walk inside the room. But before he could make it, Alpha Xander came out with a smile on his face. The crevice on the middle of his elbow is being plastered.

"Congratulations Alpha Zero, your baby girl is healthy."

Alpha Zero meet him and pulled him closed against his chest, a rare case that I witness with my own eyes. Everybody knows that Alpha Zero is a hard and arrogant man but right now we are looking at his other side.

"Thank you Alpha Xander, I owe you the life of my Luna and my child. I must repay this debt, please tell me if there is anything you want from me and my pack I will be happy to grant it."

Alpha Xander shook his head and look at him in the eyes. "I don't need anything at the moment Alpha Zero, I have help bestowed by the Alpha King. Consider this a gift from a good friend I am happy to help the Luna of the Cold Mountain pack."

Alpha Zero will not agree, his honor and pride are on the line. I can see it in his eyes that he wants to give something in return to the young Alpha of the West.

"If not today then a year from now. Alpha Xander remembers this day when I made an oath to pay my debt one day. As the Alpha King is my witness and the warriors of the Royal pack, I Alpha Zero will give you my word that I owe you the lives of my Luna and our daughter. This debt I will repay you one day, please accept my words, Alpha Xander."

The young Alpha looked confused as his eyes turned towards me for a questioning look. So I decided to help him by nodding my head. Alpha Zero held out his right hand and Alpha Xander accepts it.

"Until then Alpha Xander, I once again thank you."

"Your welcome Alpha Zero."

Alpha Zero get in the door and I followed him to check on my aunt too. Behind me walks my father who is amused by the young Alpha of the West.

"He's gonna be a great Alpha one day."

He murmured behind me and I turned slightly to answer him. "I bet he is father. Alpha Xander is starting to own his responsibilities at a very young age which is to his advantage rather than a shortcoming."

We entered the bedroom and I immediately caught the wooden crib covered with soft fabric and lace, a movement is visible inside it and the female doctor is leaning down to check on the baby.

"My love! I am glad you are awake!

Alpha Zero took two strides and then stood beside my aunt's huge bed. I could hear my aunt's voice that answered him softly. She needed more rest.

I directly go to see the baby in the crib and my father stood beside me. She is the most precious thing I have laid my eyes on, his lids are close and the thin layer of hair in his delicate head looks very soft. With pinkish cheeks and tiny lips, she is fast asleep.

"Oh! She is so lovely your majesty!"

The middle-aged female doctor happily commented while standing beside the crib. My father smiled while I couldn't stop looking at the beautiful baby.

"She looks fragile and tiny. Did she already drink milk?"

I voice out the first question in my mind. "Oh yes, your majesty she drinks a few from her mother. Then she fell asleep quickly, she only cried for a few seconds. I believe she will be a charmer and very cheerful baby one day. She won't cry that easily."

My father lowered a finger and brush the baby's hair. "What a brave little angel. Alpha Zero and Luna Jasmin are so blessed to have her."

I felt the warmth laced in my father's words and the happiness that shows in the sparkle of his eyes. My mind went back to Ashley, I need to ask her to come and see the baby. She will be happy to look.

The footsteps of Alpha Zero approached us and he holds the crib while bending down to look closely at his daughter. "I don't think I could carry her like this."

He mentioned being aware of how he is still dirty and sweaty from the recent search for a blood match with my aunt. 

"I deeply congratulate you Alpha Zero, now that you finally get an heir. The Royal pack considers this a wonderful blessing that you share with us the image of your firstborn. The people in the North should learn about this."

The smile brightened up his face as he nods his head and look at his baby. "Yes, they already knew now. My warriors are coming and also Ayah, her Godmother. Thank you for the help in delivering my firstborn. I am grateful for all of you here in the Palace."

Maleficus tap my shoulders as I can't look away from the baby. The three of us are just standing beside the crib and watching the delicate baby in her sleep.

"Your majesty, the next baby that will be born before this year ends is yours so you can stop looking at the heir of the North."

There was amusement in his words that made my father chuckle. He is very happy too, like Alpha Zero my father is still keeping his gaze on the baby.

"Are you serious Maleficus!?"

I utter in complete surprise, the old man never lies however I must confirm it. The fate of my pack relies on this reason, an heir to succeed in the land. If I will have one then it calls for a celebration.

"Yes! I am sure as I can see  the events that will take place in the next months."
