Chapter 99
Chapter 99
Waking against my will at the sound of the alarm the next morning, I stretched. My girlie bits were sore from Caspian claiming them the night before. Chuckling, I acknowledged it was my own fault for believing his early night line. I was working up the energy to roll out of bed when I was suddenly pinned under a demon.
His warm sexy mouth was on mine with his hands caging my face. That long sexily muscled body of his was pressed against my lower half. Moaning against him as mulberry wrapped around me, I arched my back. My nipples grazed his chest. He moaned at the contact. Then pulled away to look down at me.
Lust blazed in his glowing brown eyes. Frustration in his voice as he spoke. “I was going to let you go to work unscathed but…”
His voice trailed off in an implied threat. I tugged his beard to bring his mouth to me. I kissed him quickly. “I have to get up. You can have me late.”
Dramatically, he threw himself to the side and covered his face with his arm. “Fine. Leave me.”
I giggled and rolled out of the bed, away from him. No way was getting back in arms reach. I’d have a dick in me. Still giggling, I went to the bathroom. After my morning business, I put on my usual work attire. Cute shirt, pajama bottoms and bigfoot slippers. Caspian matched my outfit and escorted me down the stairs.
In the kitchen we found a simple spread of French toast sticks and sausage. Plus, coffee of course. I raised an eyebrow and looked at my demon. He shrugged as he made coffee. “Kerrigan knows you have work.”
Nodding I happily made my plate. We went out to the deck to watch the sun coming up over the trees. Chubbers was already out there eating treats. She quickly finished and went to curl up with my demon.
“Homewrecker!” I told her. Caspian chuckled.
“There’s another pussy I prefer.” I blushed at his words. From there we discussed mundane things. We were finishing our food when he cleared his throat.
“Would you mind if I took over the office downstairs?” He was giving me the eyes. So not fair. He knew I couldn’t resist those.
“It’s yours” I smiled at him. “What are you going to do with it?”
He just smiled as he picked up my plate and carried it to the sink for me. The kitchen was already cleaned. I love imps.
Still not answering my question, he escorted me to my office.
“Have a good day, love.” He kissed the top of my head. With a shimmer he was gone.
Smiling, I fired up my laptop to start my day. Around noon, Kerrigan popped in with a plate of sandwiches and potato salad.
“Yo Yo! It’s time for lunch!” They were again wearing the lime green chef smock. I assumed it was just the uniform they were in the human world.
“Oh! That looks good!” I smiled at the imp. Their fire hair snakes looked pleased with my praise. Except the one. I assumed that was Glen. Smiling, they popped out.
I used my lunch break to check in on Carissa. They had gotten home after we had gone to bed last night. We were still awake when she texted, but my muscles refused to move to answer the phone. My demon lover had worked me over. And I hoped he’d do it again tonight.
After lunch, I went back to work. At four I sighed when I realized I was about to go into a meeting that Rich would be a part of. Hopefully he will keep it professional. I didn’t know how Caspian would react if he thought Rich was trying to get me back through work.
Plastering my polite professional smile on my face, I logged into the video call. There was only four of us on the call. Me as the compliance VP of the Dallas office, my boss who was the president, his counter part in the Houston office and Rich who had been brought back as the VP.
I thought it was fitting that he had been demoted to VP. When he had abandoned ship for green pastures, he had been the president of compliance in Houston. That had to hurt his ego at least a little.
This meeting was mostly just to get everyone reacquainted. We all had known each other previously. I had to fight to keep from laughing at the situation. Elizabeth Holden, the Houston president, had been Rich’s VP. Now she was his boss. I found that to be oddly fitting.
I wish we were in the same room to see if the others were noticing what I was. Rich seemed unkept. His hair was a little disheveled, like he’d been running his hands through it. Dark shadows were under his unfocused eyes. They kept darting around, like he was looking for something. His white button up had wrinkles in it. I was used to him looking more put together than this.
Nothing was said about his appearance. However, I noticed the other two in meeting frowning when he was speaking. I assumed it was because they too were noticing how unprofessional he looked. Elizabeth looked casually elegant in a dark red wrap around blouse and light makeup. Not a dark hair out of place. My boss Henry looked collected in his polo with the company logo on it. His bald head gleamed in the light. I’d thrown on a cardigan to make my sleeveless shirt professional. My red streaked blonde hair pulled back in a bun.
We were wrapping up the meeting when Rich stumbled to a stop for the third time. His eyes darting off screen. He took a moment to regain his composure and finish his thought. As I stared at him in disdain, something in his background caught my eye. It was a black and white picture of trees. But that’s not what interested me. In the reflection of the glass, there was a swirling tornado.
