Chapter 108
Chapter 108
“I could go for a nice soft taco.” Caspian voice oozed wicked sinfulness.
I pointed at him. “There will be no taco for you Mister! Not until I get caffeine!”
I muttered about backstabbing imps as I drank my fake coffee. Beside me, Caspian chuckled, kissed my temple and then shimmered out.
Five minutes later, he returned carrying two cups that matched the ones the imp had given us. Smiling, I took the cup from him. Taking a happy sip, I moaned happily. Yep, I was addicted to caffeine. Shaking his head, the demon sat down beside me with his own coffee.
“Good use of demon powers, babe.” I told him as we started eating.
“Anything for you, Beautiful.” He looked at me with soft brown eyes. A little smile twitched on his lips. Damn, he was sexy. Tingle. He stilled beside me, then turned slowly to look at me with a raised eyebrow.
“You sexy.” I shrugged as I kept eating. “But tacos are still not on the menu.”
“You sure about that?” Oh, he was using his deepened spicy voice. Its smoothness poured over me and pooled in my libido.
“Bad use of demon powers.” I smacked his chest lightly. “Bad incubus.”
“I’ll show you bad incubus.” He pulled me towards him, lowing his head to kiss me. My breathing sped up as I anticipated his mouth on mine.
“Oh!” A female voice had us turning to see a blonde standing in the doorway from the kitchen. She was in her thirties and wearing black leggings and a polo shirt. “I’m sorry Miss Pierce! I didn’t realize you had company.”
“That’s okay, Gloria.” I pulled away from Caspian. He was frowning at the newcomer. I patted his arm soothingly as I got up. Walking with Gloria, we went back into the kitchen. “I’m so sorry! I forgot to cancel this weeks cleaning.”
The blonde nodded as she looked around. “This place shines. Have you hired another service?”
I chuckled. About six months ago she had become my cleaner. If anyone would know how much I detest cleaning and how much of a slob I could be, it would be her. Nodding slightly, I answered her. “My boyfriend comes with a very thorough assistant.”
“I’d say.” Her eyes went to the grout lines of the tile. “All the age discoloration is gone.”
I looked down too. I hadn’t noticed it, but, yes, the grout lines looked brand new. Damn, that imp rocked. Too bad they had become delusional. When I looked back up from the floor, I saw Caspian leaning on the door frame, watching us. I smiled at him then turned to Gloria. “I’ll contact Maria to let her know I’ll need to put my services on hold.”
I shot a meaningful look at the demon. If he didn’t rein in his imp, it was going to get ugly. Assuring Gloria I’d make sure she got paid for the next two weeks, I escorted her to the front door. We shook hands as she stepped out on the porch. “Thank you, Miss Pierce. I really appreciate it.”
Waving goodbye, I turned to find a scene at the top of the main stairs. Caspian looking hot in his pink satin robe had his arms wrapped around Kerrigan. The imp was now wearing blue scrubs with puppies on them. The fake baby was in a green sling across their body. Black orthopedic shoes were on their feet. Caspian had hand on covering their mouth and holding the imp so their hair snakes weren’t against him. Kerrigan’s legs were flaying around as they tried to get loose.
I could hear muffled shouts coming from Kerrigan as Caspian was whispering something in their ear. Their snakes were hissing in aggression. Hands that now looked claw like were trying to pry the hands holding them in place off.
Quickly I looked over my shoulder to make sure the door was securely shut and Gloria wasn’t still on the porch. Thankfully, we were in the clear there.
“Kerrigan! What’s wrong?” I ran up the stairs to find out what was wrong with the imp.
