Chapter 40 Why Are You with My Mother?

Chapter 40 Why Are You with My Mother?

Seraphina looked coldly at the scene before her, her eyes calm and unmoved.

"She fell in herself. It has nothing to do with me."

She knew Michael and Janna wouldn't believe her, but that was the truth.

Michael was so angry he laughed: "So you're telling me Susan deliberately fell into a rose bush full of thorns? Is she insane?"

Seraphina shrugged, looking indifferent: "Ask her yourself."

"Seraphina!"

Seeing her twist the facts like this, Michael was furious: "How can you be so cruel? What did Susan ever do to you that you'd even come to an amusement park to hurt her!"

"Michael, don't blame Seraphina. I just fell in by accident. Please don't fight because of me, I'm begging you."

Susan cried, gently tugging at Michael's sleeve, pleading desperately.

But these words only made Michael and Janna resent her more.

"Susan, you don't need to make excuses for her. Besides her, no one would be this cruel!"

Michael stared at her, speaking through gritted teeth.

Even though she'd experienced his coldness before, Seraphina's heart still broke at this moment.

She smiled bitterly: "I'm cruel? We've been together seven years and you never noticed I was cruel, but now you do? Well, congratulations on not being secretly murdered by me in the middle of the night!"

"But what reason would I have to push her into the flowers?"

"Do you even need to ask?"

Michael frowned, his eyes full of disgust: "Since Susan was diagnosed with a terminal illness, when have you ever given her a kind look? You're so jealous of her you're practically crazy. What's the difference between you and a lunatic?"

Seraphina tilted her head to look at him and laughed softly.

"How ridiculous. Why would I be jealous? Since you and she are completely innocent, what do I have to be jealous about! Or are you finally admitting your relationship was dirty all along!"

She spread her hands.

"Besides, what evidence do you have that I pushed her? Show me if you can!"

"I saw it!"

Janna shouted from the side, looking at Seraphina with disgust.

"I saw with my own eyes that Mom pushed Susan into the rose bushes. You wanted her to die. Dad's right, you're so cruel!"

Seraphina fell silent, looking at Michael and Janna quietly.

At this moment, she burned the way they were looking at her deep into her heart.

If she ever softened one day, she'd need to remember this again!

"How wonderful. I wish your family happiness!"

She laughed coldly. Michael's face changed.

"Seraphina, watch what you say! Can't you keep some dignity, even in front of the child?"

"What do I have to keep? Since you shamelessly let her come home, even pretend to be husband and wife in public, and Janna calls her mom, if you don't think it's shameful, why should I?"

After Seraphina finished speaking, she turned to leave.

Seeing this, Janna immediately stepped forward to stop her, her small face cold, angrily demanding.

"You can't leave. You haven't apologized to Susan yet. This can't just end like this!"

"Janna, don't do this, she's your mother..."

Susan seemed about to faint from pain, but was still trying to mediate their conflict: "I'm fine, really. It's just that my hand hurts so much. I'm afraid I won't be able to teach you painting anymore..."

Michael's eyes were full of heartache. "Don't worry, I've already called an ambulance. I'll find you the best doctor. You'll be fine."

When he looked at Seraphina again, his face was full of disgust.

"Apologize to Susan right now. This won't just end like this!"

Seraphina was tired of hearing it.

"I didn't push her, so why should I apologize? Impossible!"

Seraphina refused bluntly: "And what are you planning to do to get back at me? Do I also have to fall in before you'll let it go?"

When Susan heard this, her tears flowed even harder.

She tugged at Michael's sleeve: "Don't do this, Michael. Just let it go..."

At first glance, this sounded like she was defending Seraphina.

But wasn't it also hinting that she was indeed pushed by Seraphina!

"What an act!"

She laughed lightly, mocking with disdain.

Veins bulged on Michael's forehead as he roared in a low voice: "Seraphina, don't go too far! Janna said she saw with her own eyes that you pushed Susan. What else is there to explain? So you must accept punishment!"

"That's right, I saw it. Mom pushed her!"

Janna nodded forcefully, her eyes full of anger.

After speaking, she turned to ask Susan: "Susan, don't be afraid. Dad's here to back us up. Just tell him boldly—wasn't it my mom who pushed you!"

Whether or not Seraphina pushed her, others might not know, but how could Susan herself not be clear?

Some things couldn't be said too definitively, otherwise if something really happened, it would be too late to change her story.

So she'd been speaking ambiguously all along.

But Janna's question pushed her to an extreme.

Just as Susan was hesitating, a lazy voice reached their ears.

"I just went to buy ice cream, and things got this lively!"

They all turned to look and saw Warren walking toward them with Alicia.

Seeing Seraphina, Alicia immediately ran over and handed her the flower-shaped ice cream.

"Seraphina, eat this! It's so good, it's strawberry flavor!"

Seraphina smiled warmly and reached out to take it: "Thank you, sweetie."

"You're welcome! I like you the most!"

As soon as she finished speaking, a sharp shout suddenly rang out.

"Alicia Churchill, what are you doing? How can you be with my mom?"

Alicia froze, turned to see Janna's angry face, and couldn't hide the panic in her eyes.

"Janna, what are you doing here?"

Janna didn't answer her question. She bit her lip, ran forward, and roughly pushed Alicia away from Seraphina.

"Stay away from my mom!"

Alicia wasn't prepared. Still holding the ice cream, unable to defend herself, she was pushed and fell to the ground, her bottom hurting from the fall.

Her eyes immediately reddened, her mouth turned down, looking like she was about to cry.

Seraphina's pupils contracted. She quickly crouched down to check on her, her eyes full of concern.

"Alicia, are you okay?"

Alicia's mouth turned down as she reached out to hook her arms around Seraphina's neck, burying herself in her embrace and crying.

"Seraphina, it hurts! Why did Janna suddenly push me? I didn't do anything to her..."

Janna watched the two being so close and stamped her feet in frustration.

"Who says you didn't do anything? Who gave you permission to be with my mom? She's my mom!"
