The Childish Twins

Chapter 21

Tanya’s POV

I looked helplessly at the two vindictive men in front of me.

They stood facing each other, both with looks of indignation on their faces.

Brande looked at Elton provocatively and asked, "Tanya, do you think the glazed necklace I gave you looks good?"

Elton responded with the jewelry in hand: "Huh! Elton, even though I have given in to you since I was a child, this time I will not give in to you. Obviously, the black wolf amber I gave is more beautiful!"

I shook my head in disbelief at their childish behavior. These two men, who were supposed to be leaders of the pack, were acting like spoiled children over trinkets and baubles. It was hard to believe that they were supposed to be alphas, leading their clan with strength and wisdom.

Feeling helpless, I wondered how such immature and vindictive men could possibly lead their people toward a prosperous future.

In the morning, the two guys believed what the so-called emotional experts in the clan said, saying that in order to win a girl's heart, they must give expensive gifts. So in the afternoon, they secretly went to their own vaults to pick out gifts.

But I have to admit that these two have a good eye for choosing gifts. They are all in line with my preferences.

It's just that their jealousy makes me a little overwhelmed.

I picked up Brande's glass necklace, feeling its smooth and cool surface under my fingertips. The necklace was a work of art, crafted from crystal clear glass that glistened in the sunlight. Its delicate design was intricate and elegant, with each twist and curve perfectly placed.

As I held it up, admiring the beauty of the piece, I couldn't help but think that no woman would refuse such a stunning necklace. With a gentle touch, I draped it around my neck, feeling the weight of it settle against my skin.

With a subtle turn, I looked at Brande, flaunting the necklace as if to say "look at what you've given me." There was no denying the sheer beauty of the piece - it was a masterpiece of craftsmanship, and I felt a sense of pride wearing it.

The size is just right, so I can't put it down to play with it.

Seeing this, Brande proudly showed off to Elton: "I just said that you are not good at picking gifts. I have been choosing carefully for a long time! Look, Tanya looks so good in it, as if it was designed for her.”

Elton's jealous face made people around laugh. I looked at him very cutely.

I picked up Elton's black wolf amber, marveling at its natural beauty. The amber was a deep, blood-red color with no trace of impurities. Its smooth surface felt warm to the touch, and I could sense the energy contained within it.

I remembered hearing a saying that "the altar of the earth uses amber, the altar of the sun uses coral, and the altar of the moon uses turquoise." It seemed fitting for such a powerful stone - one that seemed to hold the very essence of nature within its depths.

Looking up at Elton, feeling a sense of meekness in my heart, I said softly, "I like yours too." There was no denying the allure of the stone, and I couldn't help feeling drawn to its raw power and beauty.

Elton changed his jealous face and said arrogantly: "I knew you couldn't give it away, Tanya still likes mine."

Alas, seeing that they were about to quarrel again, I quickly stopped them.

I held their hands and said, "Stop! Okay? I like all of your gifts. There is no one good or bad. It's not about the gifts, it's about the person who gave them. As long as it's from you, even if it's not such an expensive gift, even if it is just a flower, I would like it very much."

I had a happy smile on my face, and Elton and Brande stopped being jealous and just held my hand tightly. However, they turned their heads away and stopped looking at each other.

Suddenly, a booming sound echoed through the air. The ground beneath our feet shook, sending small stones tumbling down the mountain.

The two who had been at each other's throats just moments before suddenly changed their expressions. They looked at each other, and without speaking, knew what the other was thinking.

"Is there an enemy coming?" they said simultaneously, voices filled with concern.

It was clear to me that these two men had a deep bond, forged over years of shared experiences and hardships. They were able to communicate without words, their understanding of each other stemming from a blood bond that I could only imagine.

Years of tacit understanding, or the blood bonds make them understand each other at each time.

Elton said: "Tanya, you go back to your room first, it may be dangerous later, we can't take care of you."

I worriedly looked at the two of them and asked, "Then will you be in danger?"

Brande stretched his waist confidently and said, "Don't worry, we'll be right back, this is just a small scene."

But I'm still worried. I looked at the two seriously and said, "Promise me one thing?"

The two brothers froze for a moment and said, "Of course."

I then said, "Come back safely, and don't leave me alone again, okay?"

The expressions of the two became serious. Brande swore firmly: "Absolutely."

To reassure me, he even reached out to hook me up.

Elton watched his brother's naivety with amusement, shaking his head. But then he turned to me and said, "I will protect Brande, and we will all come back safely." With that, the two men walked away, their strong backs disappearing into the distance.

I stood there silently, praying for their safe return.
