Niklaus:

“We need to find a way to kill Verone if he roams around the kingdom over and over again. That would leave the people in danger” I told Ian who was inside the throne room. Kiara was inside our chamber. I had told her that I had work to finish, despite it being our week off of work. I had a lot to work to finish, Verone was at the top of my list.

“How are we going to kill him Niklaus? You know that he’s got a spell o him…”

“I need that spell to be broken. One way, or another, that spell has to be broken” I said stopping Ian from finishing his sentence. The man being around was causing more fuss than I could think of handling or want to handle. If he gets what he wants. Then, he’s going to end up killing my wife and people, then he’ll turn to the humans. If he finds the arena cleared for him. He would be bound to attack and hurt the people. That fact itself would end everything.

“How are we going to break it, Klaus? We have tried that before…”

“We have tried that before when wasn’t around. Things are different now, he’s here. We’ll need to find out whether or not we can break the spell. Ian, I have to ensure that my people, family, and wife are safe. This isn’t just about a throne Ian; the people would end up dying. You would end up dying. Kiara, the humans. The man would make me watch all of this before he kills me” I said knowing that Verone would want nothing but to make me suffer. He has tried doing so once. I had fought him with everything I had and had it not been my people standing by my side and doing their best to save me. I would have watched them all die before he killed me. The man wants nothing more than to watch me suffer in pain.

“What do you suggest we do Klaus?” Ian asked and I looked down at my feet running my fingers through my hair. I didn’t know what we had to do. Knowing that my wife’s life was in danger when we just got married. The fact that her father was in this too, the man didn’t see the danger that he was going to put himself in. Whatever Verone had promised him was not going to be fulfilled. King Leonardo was to end up dying after Verone got what he wanted. The human just didn’t know about that.

“I’ll think of something. I just need time to give this a little search, I’m sure one of our books would have a solution to what we were going through. Where we were going to find it was beyond me. But I intended to look everywhere for a solution for this. I knew that my wife would help me if she knew of my intentions. I just didn’t want her worrying about this right now. This was supposed to be the best week for her, she had been busy preparing for the wedding. She also made sure that everything in the palace was organized and despite the wedding preparations, she didn’t allow anyone to miss their normal duties. She made sure that everything was in place and that everyone was organized. She had to take a break too. It was her right.

“I’ll be waiting for you to let me know of your orders Niklaus. For now, please go and stay with your wife. She deserves you to be around her after your wedding. The two of you deserve this” Ian said looking me in the eye and I nodded at him knowing that he was right. I put a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it lightly before walking out of the throne room and heading to the chamber. I smiled hearing my wife talking to Aiden in the room. Aiden’s wings were flapping in the room and Kiara was laughing. Knocking the door twice, hearing my wife call ‘come in’ I opened the door and walked inside seeing Kiara sitting on the edge of the bed and Aiden flying over her head in his shrunken form.

Kiara smiled and got up from bed. Walking toward me, she wrapped her arms around my neck hugging me tightly. I wrapped my arms around her waist and buried my face in the crook of my neck. Smelling in her scent, she ran her fingers through my hair pulling on the roots gently making me smile. We pulled away to look one another in the eye before I leaned in capturing her lips in my own. Kiara smiled into the kiss and looped her fingers in my belt loops as I cupped her cheeks deepening the kiss.

“I missed you” I whispered to her as I kissed her. Kiara smiled and bit my bottom lip, pulling on it softly. I knew that she could both read and feel my tension and thoughts, she didn’t speak of the fact of wanting me to be the one to open up about it. But she could hear my thoughts as clear as day to her.

“I missed you too. Though, I believe that there’s more than you just missing me” Kiara said pulling away from the kiss and resting her forehead against my own. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her body to me wanting to feel her against me, she wrapped her arms around my neck, standing on her toes as she did “do you want to tell me what’s bothering you?”

Kiara looked at Aiden who was staring at the two of us before she nodded at the little thing to fly out the window leaving us in private for a little while. It wasn’t that we didn’t trust the creature, he already knew what was bothering me. But Kiara wanted me to talk to her comfortably, she didn’t want to worry about me keeping something to myself as not to expose it in front of the little dragon.

“It’s not like you don’t know or don’t have the ability to find out” I answered my wife in a teasing tone making her laugh. I lowered my hands to her bum and carried her in my arms before going to the bed and sitting on the edge of it making her sit on my lap. She smiled and looked me in the eye, her fingers running over my scruff as studied my expression “I’m worried about the Verone situation, I don’t want to risk anything. But everything seems like a risk with him around. I just don’t know Kiara”

“You have defeated him once Niklaus. You will be able to do it again” Kiara said softly and I lowered my eyes to her lap and sighed. I did take him down once, but the losses that happened during and after what happened. I didn’t want to repeat all that “I know you’re worried about this Niklaus. But you are a strong ruler, you did it once with no one helping you. You were fighting an alone battle without any allies, and then one day the people saw good in you and helped. This time, you and your people are united as one, the battle will be long and hard. But you won’t be alone my love”

“What if we lose it, Kiara? What if the people choose to side with Verone? There are so many possibilities that I don’t want to imagine, and there is you Kia” I said looking my wife in the eye voicing out my fear “I don’t want to lose you, Kiara, I don’t want to think of such a possibility”

“You don’t need to think of such a possibility Niklaus. You need to know that I will fight along your and our people’s side. I will not leave you alone in this. My father is also going to pay for what he’s done to you, for siding with the man he knows is your enemy. For putting you at the worry of losing your wife and mate, we will make him pay for it” Kiara said softly and I smiled at her running my finger over her jawline. Her eyes met mine and she smiled at me “I am not a girl of revenge, I was never one to think of such things. But the pain that we’ve both been through because of two men is not going to be left untaken care of”

“I must admit, you have become more fierce since I’ve met you. That would put us in danger in the future” I winked at my wife who laughed at my words. Wrapping both her arms around my neck and leaning closer to my lips, I smiled and kissed her lips. My arms tightened around her waist and I pulled her closer to me. Standing up with her in my arms, my lips not leaving hers. I smiled into the kiss before pulling away from the kiss and softly throwing her on the bed making her giggle as her body bounced before I quickly vampire sped toward the window, closing it. I took off my shirt and the vampire sped toward her getting on top of her. Connecting our lips, Kiara’s leg’s spread to accommodate my body as her hands cupped my cheeks. She smiled into the kiss and I bit her bottom lip pulling it between my teeth before shoving my tongue inside her mouth. The two of us battled for dominance which she knew that I would win. I softly bit her tongue and she smiled before her smile turned into a gasp when I ripped off her dress.
