Alpha's on the prowl
Alpha's on the prowl
As we enjoyed our stroll, I noticed a couple of things. I noticed David in a nearby field with a bunch of men who looked younger than him, perhaps his younger sister's age. He was speaking to them and showing various fighting poses. I looked over, and to the far right of him stood another man, and the man who Callan said was David's uncle. After learning about the family, I came to understand that he is the younger brother of David's father.
He had been coveting the title of "Elite Alpha" for years, they told me. This man seemed dangerous, in a unique way than how David or the rest of the family does. He had a dark aura about him. My senses and my inner presence were telling me to beware of him.
As we walked, suddenly, his eyes caught mine. I looked away but I could still see him staring from my peripherals. He had a devious smile. I decided to use my extended hearing Hunter taught me about to see what he would say.
"Who is that exquisite beauty? I have seen her before but, have yet to learn" he said with a deep-toned voice.
The other gentleman said, "Her name is Molly, apparently David has himself a hybrid mate." Ludger chuckled.
"How ironic considering our family is hybrids ourselves, imagine the odds," he said with sarcasm and an odd glint in his eye,
"I think she will be perfect my friend, watch as I finally claim to the throne and send David to the depths with a power queen by my side." I gasped.
I closed my eyes and continued walking faster. Callan had also heard the conversation, and we both urgently continued on our walk. Callan was growling lowly, I had to kiss him to keep him calm and quiet. I understood his anger, and I was determined to bring this to David's attention later. I just pray that he will believe me.
I at once ran to David’s training grounds. I was terrified and he felt my fear. I told him everything that I heard from Ludger. The look on his face was undecided. I assured him that I was not lying. He told me that he would handle it, and not to worry about it. That was two weeks ago now, and so far, I have heard nothing more. Ludger left the other day for a business meeting. Before he left, he told David he would return in a few days. David shook his hand and walked into his office.
I did not miss the way Ludgers eyes did not leave mine as he walked away. It was a very possessive look, and I was terrified of what he was planning.
With Ludger gone, I have been enjoying my time at David’s pack. I finally feel like I belong somewhere. Not only did I spend a lot of time deepening my bond with my loves but, I was becoming accepted here.
I met all the warriors, one named Malachi was fun to socialize with however, he would be greeted by angry glares from David and Callan when he would wrap his arm around me. He chuckled, ruffled my hair, and took a step back. He winked at me and assured my boyfriend that no harm was meant.
They both came over, picked me up, removed me from the room and walked me out the door.
“We needed you away from him,” David told me.
I gave him a look “Molly you do not understand, Mal is a horny wolf. He loves the ladies and I do not want to take any chances when it comes to him” I roll my eyes and walk away.
The man has only ever been nice to me. I hear David growl at my behavior but, I do not care, I was not going to be controlled like that. Later that day, David’s cousin Genevie met me for lunch, and it was a marvelous time.
I was thrilled when David’s mother introduced us. She felt I should interact with the women and make friends other than my mates. I was thrilled to finally be out places with other young ladies my age. Genevieve was 19 years old and attending Oxford University for education.
I had so much fun hitting the town with her. We went to lunch at a place called “Dilly’s” and then she took me shopping at every local clothing boutique. I have never shopped and spent so much since I used to splurge with Barbara. Thinking about her started to bring my spirits down.
When Genevieve saw me start to look glum, she inquired, however, I told her I was just missing a friend. Her reply was.
“Well let’s get over it” and he pulled me into a shoe store named “Burks” at this rate I would be well supplied for college this year.
