New Beginnings

It has been well over a month since I awoke from my coma. I remember the day I first awoke after being in oblivion and seeing my mother. Everything she told me was so shocking and left my mind spinning. I spent time for a whole week sharing a chamber with my mates.

We spent the whole-time reconnecting, in every physical way and emotional way. After I was pronounced healthy, I called Hunter, he informed me that he had arrived back from his month-long business trip to find me gone. He said that he felt the energy in the house was very dark and angry. He was greatly concerned and demanded to know where I was.

I confessed everything that had happened. My stepfather was livid. He tried to order me home, he lectured me about not trusting Callan or Rydon. He scolded me about staying away from Rydon and how I should never have left with him from the beginning. I soothed his anger when I told him that I was with David's family.

He offered to tear apart Alpha Bryson and my father's pack. I politely declined; I could not have that on my conscience. I know he is not happy with the abuse I have sustained. I do not blame him for his anger, I just do not want him in trouble with the authorities. He is a well-respected public figure; I do not want to taint his credibility. I informed him that David moved us to his pack, and I was well cared for.

He wished me well, told me he expected me to attend Cambridge very soon, to be careful while I attend school there and he would be waiting for me. I bid him farewell as I hung up the phone. After my call ended, I met with David and Callan for breakfast.

As we walked into the dining room, I noticed that everyone in the entire house was in attendance. David explained that with this house, everyone who lives here attends meals and activities together to promote pack unity. We all sat around sharing food and engaging in conversation.

It was nice to be able to meet David's family finally. I learned more about David, I realized that his pack was the wealthiest in the region. His pack was called the "Gold blood pack" because they were the purest bloodline than any other pack and a direct descendant of Lycans. David’s great grandmother was a Lycan who fell in love with a werewolf. His mother explained "Lycans are immortal so, like the original shifter. They are considered like deity’s in the werewolf world. They are not often gifted with soulmates like werewolves are. David's grandmother-in-law had waited centuries to be blessed with a soul mate, and when she felt, it was never going to happen, she accepted being alone. One day she was in the market and met Alpha Rueben Lennox, he had not found his mate yet either and he was in his forties. They fell in love and chose each other as mates."

I sat and listened to her telling me the family history. It was such a romantic love story as if it were out of a fairytale. I loved meeting David's family; his mother was like an angel. Tall, with beautiful blond hair, and green eyes, He had two sisters younger than him, and one younger brother. David was the oldest. Next was his sister Bridgett. She was about fourteen and had long straight dark hair with amber eyes. tall, and had a slim but athletic body. Whitney was her twin sister. She had medium-length dark curly hair, green eyes, with a toned curvy figure. His younger brother was Marshall. He was twelve years old. He was slightly tall and muscular, he had blond hair with amber-colored eyes like Bridgett and their father. David and Whitney had green eyes like their mother.

During my stay, I met David's father, and I learned more about David's life and his family. His father being half Lycan held the purest blood so, they were considered the "elite pack" like a royal family. So much made sense after hearing this. The strong aura David carried with him sometimes, the strength he had, the power I felt when he rescued me from my father's pack. Alpha Broderick, David's father, shared with me their life, family, their love. He told me that I needed to understand them as David's mate. He welcomed Callan and expressed his sympathy for Alpha Bryson's behavior. He invited Callan to join his pack if he chose to. Callan was speechless, and uncertain about the offer.

"I want to accept but, I am not sure my father will let me leave his pack?" he said to me.

I embraced him and told him to do what was right. I laid my head on his chest thinking that even if it hurt me to see him walk away, I want him to be happy and choose what is best for himself. Callan and I walked around. I loved being here. I felt accepted and waking up every morning in David’s arms is a blissful feeling.

I know that Callan longed to be with me, however, I could not forget the pain he put me through. I needed time to decide if I wanted to accept him or not. What if I accept him and he hurst me again by being a cheater again?
