Alpha Rydon's Pack

As I was pondering my thoughts, I heard him come up behind me, and he invites me to have a tour. He shows me the terrace, the mudroom, the powder room, the parlor, the lounge, the library, the study, his office, the formal dining hall, the sitting room, pantry, the kitchen, the tearoom, the breakfast parlor, the wing where the servants quarters are found, and the servant's buffet kitchen. We ascend the stairs he shows me more of the house. He shows me his room, my sibling's room, other bathrooms, and finally the guest bedrooms. I feel like my feet are about to fall over after the tour has concluded.

He finally shows me to my room and leaves me to acquaint myself with the room. I walk throughout the room, finding it to be really nice sized. There is an attached bathroom suite, a walk-in closet the size of the bathroom, and the closet is filled with clothes. I almost become teary-eyed. This explains why he told me I did not need to pack any belongings; he bought me everything that I could need.

I become startled from behind when I hear an angry snarl. I did not notice my door being opened by someone. I turned around and for the first time noticed a girl in my doorway. She had raven-colored hair and piercing amber eyes. She was glaring and if looks could kill, I would be staked through the heart by now. Her vicious gaze should scare me but, I did not feel any fear. I have walked through many fires in my life, and I have had various moments with my mother that should have killed me. Yet, I am still here, I am still alive, and I will not let this child intimidate me.

I meet her glare and decide not to antagonize her, it will do me no good. I look at her with curious eyes. “Hello, may I help you?” I decided to be nice, never match hate with hate, kindness overall wins eventually.

“So, you are the freak charity case that my father decided to burden us with rather than just kill you” she snarls.

I tried not to take offense; I knew how they were here. I also did not miss the “her father” statement. I am going to try peace but, if she still pushes it, I can play cruel bitch too.

“Ah you must be my father's other daughter” I simply state, “well it is nice to meet you.”

I smile and she snarls at me, her eyes wide.

“Do not even think about calling him father! He was never yours; he just found some pathetic orphan to take pity on,” she said with a cold voice, devoid of emotion.

Her aura rolling off of her, she was trying to frighten me. I decided to release my own, I concentrated on how I did it at graduation, and I felt the power flowing through me.

“Listen here, he has always been my father! it was not our fault that life can be a cruel bitch, like my sadistic mother who kept everyone away from me! I was going to be kind but, you want the bitch instead! Do not talk to me unless I say so, curb your attitude little girl, and know your place little girl!” I reign in my aura.

She is kneeling on the floor with her head bowed in submission.

“I am only here over the weekend; I have no intention of coming here permanently. I start college soon. So, if you fear that I am going to steal anything from you, that will never happen. Now, get out of my room!” I command her and she scurries away.

I close the door and lean against it; I have a dreadful feeling. Whatever her name was, is not going to take this laying down. She acts as if she is an entitled spoiled brat. I should have used my head better; this is just the beginning.

I lay in my bed, I tried to shake off the warning feeling that was coursing through my veins. The hostile interaction with my half-sibling could not leave my mind. I started to doubt my choice of coming here. I knew this would happen, however, I still wanted to get to know my real father.

My mind was spinning with a thousand different scenarios of what else could go wrong, how much trouble I was going to be in, no doubt she told her mother. Did I just ruin any chance I had of making a good impression? Is this even worth it? I sat up on my bed when I heard a knock at the door. I straightened my clothes to look presentable. After a few minutes, my father walked through the door. He had a troubled look on his face and I knew I was in deep trouble.

“So, I hear there was an incident early?” I nodded my head.

“Did you purposely attack Varia?” I gazed at him in shock.

“Because that is what she said, and I told her that does not sound like you” I swallowed my pride and explained what happened.

” I am so sorry, I will leave, if this is too much for anyone? I know I want to spend time with you but, I do not want your family to hate me more than they already apparently do.” He took a deep breath and sighed.

“Look we both knew that this would be difficult, I will handle Varia, I had a sense she was lying, she should never have mocked you like that” I nodded my head.

I looked away trying to keep the tears from falling.

“Molly, listen to me, you are not an orphan! Molly, I am your real father, I am here, and always will be” I embraced him as I let the tears fall down my cheek.

He patted my hair and whispered soothing words. I have lived through so much in my life. I need to keep reminding myself to stay strong. I lived through my mother's raising; I can endure their judgment. He invites me down for dinner. We stood up and walked out of the room.
