Chapter 75 - The Final Chapter

I

Gerthel moved her hands as if pushing Alpha Leeno so hard, and with that Alpha Leeno floated more, up into the sky, to the latter's further fear.

They were in that situation when further chaos happened. A part of the packhouse of Alpha Leeno has been set on fire by a golden flying dragon. The pack members of Alpha Leeno have been in a panic, not knowing where to hide.

The golden flying dragon was in an obvious rage as it spit more fire once again. Gerthel’s attention was caught by the golden dragon that was spitting fire at that moment. Outright, Gerthel’s heart knew who the golden dragon was. It was Boss Dar. Her mate, who she knew now to be a hybrid one too - A werewolf and a dragon at the same time. Gerthel’s heart pumped so hard with excitement but was suddenly interrupted when she heard the commotion made by Alpha Leeno’s pack members.

Gerthel made a move to save the innocent pack members of Alpha Leeno. With Gerthel’s one chant, Alpha Leeno’s body floated more into the air. She wanted the golden flying dragon to notice the floating body of the Alpha.

Gerthel also chanted in a louder voice, letting her voice soothe the ears of the golden dragon, who she knew to be in his pit of rage. Like magic, the golden dragon suddenly stopped spitting fire and looked in the direction of the voice that suddenly soothed his heart and pacified him.

Seeing that she had already caught the attention of the golden dragon, Gerthel waved her hand and smiled. She showed the raging golden dragon that there was no reason for him anymore to set the whole pack of Alpha Leeno on fire as she herself had already conquered the Alpha.

Understanding what Gerthel wanted to tell him, the golden dragon wiggled its tail and did not spit more fire at Alpha Leeno’s packhouse.

“Everyone, throw your firearms and other weapons away and bow your heads to the golden dragon if you do not want your whole pack to perish!” Gerthel commanded everyone in her loud voice.

Everyone listened to Gerthel seeing their Alpha Leeno floating in the air like a useless fool. They knew that they were defeated already and it would be useless to still fight. They threw their weapons and with bended knees bowed their heads in defeat.

In one swift motion, Gerthel’s hand moved and in one chant, Alpha Leeno’s body was caught again by a strong wind. The wind, like a tornado, wrapped around Alpha Leeno’s body and in a flash, the Alpha of the Blue Wave Pack was nowhere in sight. His body has been thrown away in a place that no one knew except Gerthel.

Boss Dar, in his golden dragon form, swiftly flew down and snatched the body of Gerthel. He took her to the Castle again, where no one from the human world nor other creatures dare to come nearby, more so to enter or attack.

When Gerthel’s feet touched the ground of the Castle’s open field, she inhaled deeply and looked at the golden dragon, who by this time was already shifting into his human form. As the smoke around the golden dragon disappeared, the gorgeous form of Boss Dar appeared smilingly in front of Gerthel.

Gerthel smiled sweetly and was not able to hold back her emotion. She plunged herself into Boss Dar, who readily embraced her with his strong arms.

“So, you are a dragon too?” she asked smilingly as she looked up at him.

“Yes, and I have more secrets to tell you, my soon-to-be powerful witch and werewolf Queen, and mother of my first and succeeding children,” Boss Dar replied, grinning broadly. He, too, could not hide his feelings towards Gerthel.

She furrowed her forehead while looking at him, waiting for him to talk further.

“Well, my love, I am the Hybrid King of this castle, whom you feared so much,” he murmured near her ear, and before Gerthel could react further, he already captured her lips.

“Mother of your first child?” Gerthel asked after they finished kissing each other.

“Yes, my love. Did you not notice it? You are already carrying our first child,” Boss Dar said while cupping her face and looking at her lovingly.

Gerthel smiled sheepishly and then nodded. “I have a hint, but I was not yet sure.”

“I am sure that you are now pregnant, Gerthel.”

Suddenly, Gerthel’s eyes grew wide. “Oh my! I was able to unleash my innate power already!” she exclaimed while looking at Boss Dar with eyes still wide with awe.

Boss Dar nodded, smilingly. “What do you think was the trigger that unleashed such a power to come out from you, so naturally?”

Gerthel, still in surprise, suddenly put her hands on her tummy. Her eyes grew wide even more. “It was your pure love and the life that is growing in my womb!”

The Hybrid King/Boss Dar, in agreement with Gerthel, decides to stay in the castle with her as his Queen while continuing his mafia activities through his members.

Their wedding had been planned outright and was about to be held in two weeks' time in the castle.

With this, the Duke freaked out with anger. He can not be able to control the pregnancy of Gerthel, and soon, the heir of the Hybrid King will be born. He will completely lose his place in the castle and the throne. If Gerthel gave birth to a son, there is no way that he would be the next heir to the throne. The Hybrid King will have his heir or even heirs and he will be nowhere in the line next to the throne.

On one hand, Draga, upon returning to the Castle, finds out that her dragon mate is the Duke. She found a way to be accepted by him, by promising help to kill Gerthel and the unborn baby in her womb. However, the Hybrid King finds out the plan of Duke and Draga. To save the whole kingdom from the wrath of the Duke, the Hybrid King made a decision to challenge the Duke to a one-on-one dragon battle in the sky. So, while sitting on his throne, he summoned the presence of the Duke.

“Duke Symuel, I know your plan and Draga. I could kill you now if I wanted to, but I will not do that. You are still my half-brother. I am giving you the chance to defend yourself and even the chance to take the throne. I challenge you to a one-on-one dragon battle in the sky. If you win, you can claim the throne, and then Gerthel, and I will return to the human city and will never come back to this castle,” he stated, without any trace of fear on his face or in his voice.

A sudden diabolic smile came out of the Duke’s lips. “I will not say no to that challenge, my dear brother. I accept your challenge!”

The Hybrid King stood up and looked at the Duke with an unfathomable expression. “So, be it then. Meet me in the open field tomorrow morning at six,” he said in his most calm tone, to which the Duke agreed without any hesitation.

In the Duke’s mind, he knew that the Hybrid King was powerful, but he was confident that he was equally powerful, as the blood that runs in their veins is one and the same.

At that moment, Draga was already held in prison by the castle guards without the knowledge of the Duke.

By six o’clock the next morning, the Duke was already waiting for the Hybrid King in the open field in the castle. He was ready.

Upon the arrival of the Hybrid King, the Duke smiled devilishly and immediately shifted into his red dragon form. He has the intention of spitting fire outright against the Hybrid King while the latter is shifting from his human form to his dragon form.

Wise as he is, however, the Hybrid King, in a flash, shifted into his dragon form too and soared up speedily, avoiding the first spit fire of the Duke.

The dragon world was shaken when the two strongest dragons started to fight up in the sky.

A few minutes later, a burning dragon was speeding down from the sky. As its large body landed on the land, the ground shook and Draga suddenly screamed with heart pain. She knew by then that she had lost her dragon mate.

With the death of the Duke, the dragon kingdom mourned but at the same time became thankful. The Duke’s death pacified their hearts, knowing that the castle would continue to exist in peace.

A week later, the wedding of the Hybrid King and his new Hybrid Queen happened, and the whole dragon realm rejoiced.

They all rejoiced further after a few months when the new hybrid queen gave birth to a son. The hybrid king named his son, Dreeko.
