Chapter 60 - Her First Mate Came Back

I

It was a day well spent for both Boss Dar and Gerthel. They had a sumptuous meal during lunchtime in one of the fine dining restaurants inside the mall and in the evening they had their dinner in a restaurant by the bay.

"Dar, thank you for spending time with me. I know you are a busy man, yet you took time off from your work to be with me," Gerthel said while looking at Boss Dar with a bright smile. They were in front of the door of Gerthel’s room.

“No need to say thank you, Gerthel because I wanted to be with you too.” He cupped her face and looked at her tenderly.

Gerthel almost giggled as she heard what he said. “Goodnight then,” she said in her daintiest voice.

“Rest well for tonight. Goodnight,” he said before he kissed her deeply and left her.

Gerthel followed his back with her loving look until he reached his room and got inside. She smiled; feeling so light and bubbly, she entered her room too.

Nearby the mansion, a black car slowly stopped and parked in the dark area where it cannot be noticed.

Suddenly, a faint smile akin to sandalwood hit Gerthel’s nostrils. Her heart raced while her forehead furrowed. She climbed down from the bed and approached her still-open window and inhaled deeply, trying to savor the air’s relaxing smell while her mind was wondering. She was about to close the window when a voice tried to creep inside her mind. She furrowed further and her body froze.

“Gerthel, do you still remember me?” the voice asked and she stood still. She wanted to close her mind to any link but her wolf stopped her reasoning out that she needs to listen well, whoever is that man intruding on her mind.

“It might be important, Gerthel,” Thella, her wolf, said further.

Listening to her wolf’s advice, Gerthel, closed her eyes and strengthened her mind-linking ability, and replied, “Your voice is not familiar. Who are you, and what do you need from me?”

“I have been searching for you for quite some time already. Since the first time I saw you, your face already haunted me day and night,” the mysterious man, mind linked back Gerthel.

Hearing the words of the man, Gerthel’s eyes squinted. “Just tell me who you are, I have no time for a guessing game!”

“Gerthel, there is only one werewolf who could mind link you, aside from your Alpha if you belong to a pack. Only one and he is your mate. I am your mate.” The man even chuckled after such a statement and Gerthel’s heart pounded, and her fists clasped tightly.

“My first mate already rejected me. You are not my mate anymore,” Gerthel replied with sarcasm.

“You did not accept my rejection, Gerthel. Remember? That is why you still haunted me. Let me see you again, Gerthel. Come with me and be my Luna,” the man’s voice seemed to be begging.

"Just fuck off!" Gerthel felt her whole body shaking so she immediately shut her mind-linking bridge to Alpha Treeton. She sat on her bed, heaving for breath.

Inside his black car, Alpha Treeton smiled devilishly. If he could still penetrate Gerthel’s mind, it means, their mate pull is still present. He could feel the tremor in Gerthel’s reaction and he could sense that should they see each other personally, he will not be denied by the woman. All he needs is to touch her and voila, the heat between them as mate, will soon spark.

“It will just be so easy to lull you in my arms, Gerthel. Just one touch, one kiss, and my mark on your neck will make things much easier,” Alpha Treeton murmured with his devilish smile, slowly widening.

“Alpha, what are you thinking now?” Nick, who was sitting inside the black car in the driver’s seat, asked with curiosity.

“I just spoke with her. Soon, I will be seeing her personally.” Alpha Treeton side glanced at Nick and then motioned for him to start driving.

Following his Alpha’s command, Nick started the engine of the car and with speed, drove it away from the mansion of the notorious Mafia Lord, whom they consider as their organization’s number one enemy.

Inside her room, Gerthel was still restless. She could not fathom why on earth Alpha Treeton was still searching for her, when in fact at the onset, he already rejected her. He even despised her, and such was evident in the way he looked at her during that first time that they met in the forest. “He even rejected me outright and killed the people dear to my heart!” she hissed with anger.

Even while sleeping, Alpha Treeton haunted Gerthel. She even dreamt about the man, which made her woke up screaming in the middle of the night.

In her dream, Alpha Treeton was trying to mark her that she screamed while trying to pull away from his strong arms. She did not know that she actually screamed before she woke up. Startled and confused, Gerthel immediately sat up on her bed breathing erratically.

Boss Dar was startled too when Gerthel’s scream reached his ears. He furrowed his forehead and suddenly worries swamped into his whole senses. With a hurried act, he alighted in a flash from his bed and walked out of his room, with his direction going to Gerthel’s room.

He knocked on Gerthel’s room door and waited with impatience until it was opened by her.

“Gerthel, I heard you screaming. Is there something wrong?” He immediately asked, while getting inside her room.

Surprised by his sudden coming to her room, Gerthel was not able to reply to him outright. She even walked fast, back to her bed, and sat thereon.

He followed her and sat beside her on the bed. He took her hands and looked at her inquisitively. “Tell me, what is wrong, Gerthel?” he asked again.

Gerthel moistened her lips with shivers in them. “Boss Dar, I… I just had a bad dream,” she said stammering after a while.
