MEETING HER MATES FOR THE FIRST TIME
LAURA
Laura could not believe that she had gotten a job. It seemed like a dream come true. She slowly took her hands to her cheeks and squeezed hard.
"Ouch!" It was painful. That means she wasn't dreaming. The lady gave her a job. It wasn't a dream at all. How possible was this? What exactly did she do to be given a secretary's job? That wasn't even what she wanted from the beginning. She walked slowly with a smile on her face. She couldn't wait to break the news to Mrs Rosie. She wondered what Mrs Rosie's reaction would be. The lady is sometimes mysterious so she had no idea what her reaction will be. But all the same, she's happy at the fact that she had gotten herself a job.
What more could she ask for? Just as she was walking down the path she came from, Laura suddenly perceived a strong minty scent, and she followed the smell, only to find him. The guy, whose magazine littered the streets and the walls of the entire country, Drake Regale. Her wolf suddenly screamed the word, "Mate!"
But the moment he saw her, his facial expression changed to that of hatred.
At the same time, the smell of honey wafted her nostrils. Immediately, she turned around in the direction of the scent, only to find the most feared vampire king, Derek Jefferson. And her wolf yet again screamed “Mate!"
The vampire king glared at her, and his hands instantly formed a fist like he was going to pounce on her any minute.
She didn't understand what was happening to her at that moment. It seemed as though the world was about to come to an end. She shivered as she continued moving backwards. These men, how can she forget them?
The first was the heartthrob for many, the second was the most-feared vampire king. What is going on? She knew it! Getting a job as a secretary and all. She must be dreaming. It was impossible to encounter all three strange events at the same time. No warnings or signs to keep her away.
She quickly ran in the direction of an empty hall. Good thing there was a door, she immediately ran inside and hid underneath a round table. Her heart was beating so fast that it was going to get ripped off her chest. She panicked but tried to stay calm. How was she to accept the fact that she had two mates? Not just any mate an Alpha werewolf. Laura shook her head in disbelieve. At that moment, she was even scared to mention his name even in her thoughts.
She shut her eyes and tried to calm her beating heart. This way she hopes she will wake up in her bed and discover all that happened was just a dream. Then she won't go out as she just woke up from a bad dream. That is what it was.

Meanwhile, Derek and Drake had just finished their little conversation after the anniversary gathering was over.
When they both realized what happened to them after they saw their mate, they slowly approached each other suspiciously.
"What do you think is going on?" Drake asked with a creased brow.
"I should be asking you the same thing. It turns out we've finally found what has been connecting us," Derek replied.
Drake shook his head. He cannot believe what happened. He can't be mated to a vampire. She smells like one, he perceived it the moment he saw her. He was due it wasn't a mistake.
Drake immediately began walking toward the meeting hall, where she ran into but was quickly held back by Derek.
"Where are you going?" He asked suspiciously.
"What do you mean, I'm going to see her. I want to know what a vampire is doing in my company!"
"What do you mean a vampire, she's a werewolf!"
Drake couldn't believe his ears. He thought Derek had probably gone mad.
"She smells like you, and you say she's a werewolf? She's a vampire."
"Are you telling me my sensory is bad? I know what I perceived.
"I think we should stop bickering and see for ourselves." They both walked into the meeting room only to discover that it was empty. They both glanced at each other in surprise.
Just then, they both noticed the wide open window. At that moment there was no need to argue, she had escaped through the window.
They both walked over to the window, only to find a girl in a yellow dress running away like her life was at stake. Drake and Derek both wanted to run after her, but then they both took their faces back to each other.
"What are your thoughts about this, King Derek?" Drake asked, very curious to know what Derek thought about it.
"I'm going to pretend like I didn't see her. What about you?"
"Me? What do you want me to say?"
"Listen, we can't have both mates. It is impossible. Not now, not ever!" Derek stated sternly.
"I'm never accepting her as my mate so be rest assured. I'm not sure she will ever come back here again," said Drake.
"Then, I guess we have nothing to worry about, Alpha Drake," Derek asked while staring at Drake intensely.
"Exactly."
"Good, then I will be leaving. And I hope I don't get called over again, especially now that we know the reason to our problem."
"Be rest assured. We are enemies, to begin with, so be assured that I will never make the mistake of calling you over."
"I trust you won't because I won't be nice next time," Derek stated, before walking away from Drake.
The moment Derek left, Drake heaved a long sigh. He walked back to his office and sat on his chair.
He recalled everything that happened some minutes ago. Everything happened so fast that he didn't even get the time to think properly. Did he just see his mate?
Was this some kind of a daydream or what?
It can't be. She reeked of vampire blood, how come no one saw her get into his company and stop her at least?
Wait, why was he thinking about her?
"Because we just found our mate and you let her go, moron!" Drake's beast lashed out at him.
