JOB HUNTING

LAURA

She woke up earlier than Rosie today. And just as she had earlier said, she would be going job hunting that morning. She read it somewhere in a book, she can't remember where though, but she was sure she left it back at the palace.

It said in the book that jobs are sought for early in the day thsn later since the job owners would also be looking for those who are punctual as part of the criteria for getting them hired.

Laura really needed the job, and was more than willing to do anything that would get her a job by every means necessary.

Laura left the house at about 7:am. She wore a blue flowery dress which was only down to her knee cap. Infact all the dresses she had were ways down to her knee cap.

She tied her hair in a one sided pony tail and tried to mask up her skin from looking too pale.

Sbe didn't want to become a sight of attraction for people around. There's this thing she noticed about her skin, and that was the fact that her skin was different fron the rest. Be it a werewolf or vampires alike.

While the vampires skin was pale, hers was exceptionally pale. She looked very different from the vampires and the same time different from the werewolves as well.

Nobody knew she was an hybrid. She was sure everyone believed the cursed one must have ended her life or died somewhere, but no one would ever know the cursed one lived and walked among them.

She just prays that her coming of age which was to take place the next day wouldn't fish her out or bring her trouble.

Mrs Rosie must not know her coming of age was the next day either. She was terribly scared to let Mrs Rosie know a thig who she really was.

Thst might cost her a place to live in, or someone to take her in. Mrs Rosie was a good option, but she was of the thought that her kindness would all turn into hatred the moment she finds out who she really was.

She can't even begin to imagine how hateful Mrs Rosie would be towards her.

Ever since the past few days, Laura had been looking for a place where she could quietly go to and transform into whatever she was. As far as she knew, she might become violent if she was to become thirsty of blood.

For this reason, Laura had planned to use an hidden garden tomorrow. Knowing Mrs Rosie would ask where she was going to, she decided that she would tell her she wished to moon gaze, and since it was close to the house, she was sure Mrs Rosie won't find her suspicious.

Laura began her job hunting on the street which was nothing but strange for her. She walked into the first shop where sve saw "sales attendant in dire need."

Laura immediately hopped into the shop which was a grocery shop. She walked as briskly as she could.

She met a young man who was sitting at the counter attending to some customers.

Laura prayed from the botum if her heart that she would be accepted.

"Uhm, excuse, sir, I saw your post board outside which says you are in need of a sales attendant."

The guy suddenly began staring at her, he eyed her from her legs and up to her face.

At that moment, Laura's heart was beating really fast. She sincerely hoped that he wouldn't turn her down, by her appearance, owing to how he was staring at her."

"So you have experience in the job before now?"

"Huh?" Laura was totally confused, this was her very first time, and now that he mentioned it, she was totally afraid. The words of Mrs Rosie immediately came to mind. But she knew she had to be very transparent and honest in order not to cause a bigger problem for herself.

"I uh.. this is my first time, so?" The guy suddenly creased his brows in a frown. Laura's heart began pounding really hard.

"Have an idea about handling the payment scanning machine?"

"No idea sir."

"What? You don't know anything about being a sales assistant then how do you intend to work for me?"

"I will learn and I'm sure I would be better in my time."

"Look young lady, I'm not looking for an amateur for an assistant. I'm not a teacher, I would actually use the time in training you to attend to my customers. Money counts and I can't lazy about teaching an assistant her job!"

That was pretty hurtful but it was to be expected. She knew it wouldn't be an easy journey for her, but she only just started.

Laura didn't give up her search even though the owner was a little bit harsh with his words.

The second place she visited was a hotel. And it was written on the board close to the entrance to the hotel that they needed a salesperson.

Laura had to think hard about it. Honestly, she felt it wouldn't be a hard task to just making sales.

She will be paid for her services. She walked in confidently and she was asked for the manager. She was told to wait since others like her are being interviewed.

The moment Laura heard others were undergoing interviews she immediately stood up and walked out of the office in fright.

She knew that she would eventually fail and get more embarrassed. Maybe then she would've been reprimanded for coming in search of a job when she fully knows that she does not have any skills or whatsoever to work.

At this stage, she knew that she might not be able to find a job at this rate. She was in huge trouble as it is.

She had no idea how she was supposed to go about this way.

Laura practically visited more of the places she knew, but still found no one to employ her. After searching the whole day without a good result, she decided to go back home and try some other time.
