Chapter 78 The Black Wolf Fully Awakened

Chapter 78 The Black Wolf Fully Awakened
Donald’s eyes are on me, wide and unblinking. His chest rises and falls in ragged breaths, but his focus is entirely on me.

“Clara…” he whispers, voice trembling. “Are you sure?”

“I have to be,” I reply. My hands tremble, not from fear, but from the raw energy thrumming through my body. The light I released before it’s still inside me, stronger, alive, restless. It calls to me, demanding I let it flow completely.

“I’ll stand with you,” Donald says, placing a firm hand on my shoulder. “Whatever happens, we face it together.”

I nod, feeling the surge. My heart races as warmth spreads from my chest down to my limbs, igniting every nerve ending. My senses sharpen so violently I can hear every wolf, every heartbeat, every whisper of fear and awe across the battlefield.

I step forward, muscles trembling, eyes glowing gold and black. The Shadow Alpha steps back, realizing instantly that something has changed. His growl falters.

“You…” he spits. “You can’t be a wolf.”

“Oh, but I am,” I say. “And you’ve underestimated me for too long.”

Donald shifts to his full Alpha form, towering beside me. “Clara now.”

I close my eyes, drawing in a slow, steadying breath. Every memory, every lesson, every surge of power pulses in me. I feel the Black Wolf the part of me that has been sleeping, hidden beneath fear and humanity awaken fully.

A flicker of darkness sweeps through me, but it’s mine. My fire, my shadow, my healing energy all fused into one. My bones stretch and crack in ways that should hurt, but they don’t. Fur erupts across my body, black as midnight, yet streaked with gold light pulsing beneath the surface. My claws sharpen, my teeth elongate, and my senses reach a level I’ve never known.

When I open my eyes, the battlefield freezes. Even Donald steps back slightly, awe and fear mingled in his gaze. My new form radiates raw power Alpha strength, healer’s light, predator’s precision.

The Shadow Alpha stumbles backward, raising his claws defensively. “Impossible… you… you’re a human… no… not possible…”

“I am more than human,” I roar. My voice is no longer mine it carries the growl of the Black Wolf, the command of the Luna, the fire of the Healer. It vibrates through the ground, echoing in the minds of every wolf on the field. “I am the Black Wolf Healer. And I will protect my pack.”

Donald’s eyes soften with pride and relief. “That’s my Luna…”

I take a step forward, claws digging into the earth, muscles coiled like springs. I can feel every heartbeat of the Shadow Pack their fear, their hesitation. They sense my power, and for the first time, they hesitate before attacking.

“You think this changes anything,” the Shadow Alpha growls, though uncertainty is dripping from every word. “I’ve faced Alphas before. You’re still human.”

“I’m no longer just human,” I snap. “I am the pack. I am the healer. I am the Black Wolf. And tonight… I decide the outcome.”

I leap.

The speed feels like flying. I close the distance between us in seconds. His strike comes first claws slashing but I twist mid-air, my shadowed form flowing like liquid, dodging with precision no human or wolf could achieve.

I strike back, hitting him square in the chest with the full weight of my new form. The force sends him skidding back, fur bristling, eyes wide with shock. I follow, claws slashing, teeth snapping, but controlled. Every move precise, honed not just with instinct but with power and intent.

Donald joins, snarling beside me, attacking the Shadow Alpha from behind. For the first time in the entire war, we’re synchronized perfectly. Bonded. Alpha and Luna, unstoppable.

I feel the pack behind me rise with renewed energy. The survivors of the Shadow wolves hesitate, then falter under my presence. Even the corrupted wolves that remain recoil instinctively, fear and respect overwhelming their aggression.

The Shadow Alpha recovers and hisses, lunging at me. I spin, claws digging into his chest, and pin him to the ground. My weight alone is crushing. He struggles, but I can feel him weakening every surge of my power draining the dark energy from him, breaking his control over his own forces.

“Clara…” Donald growls beside me, voice tight with adrenaline. “Do it.”

I press down harder, teeth bared, eyes glowing gold and black. My healing light pulses outward, merging with my shadows, spreading through him. I can feel the corruption leaving his body, dissolving like ash. The Shadow Alpha thrashes, screaming, but it’s futile. I am complete. I am fully awakened.

“You… can’t…” he gasps, fading, his power collapsing into nothing. “Impossible…”

“It’s done,” I say, voice steady. My claws retract. My form begins to shrink back slightly, but the Black Wolf remains, alive, fully in control, glowing faintly under the blood moon.

Donald shifts beside me, chest heaving, fur bristling. He steps closer, nudging my shoulder gently with his head. “You… you’ve become everything I knew you could be. And more.”

I exhale, my body trembling, the adrenaline fading, the fire inside me settling into a calm, steady heat. “We did it,” I whisper.

He nudges me again, more insistently this time. “No, Clara. You did it. Alone. And I’ll follow you anywhere.”

I glance at the Shadow Alpha, now lying unconscious, purged of corruption, powerless. My pack surrounds us, eyes wide, mouths slack, some bowing, some whimpering in awe.

I feel every heartbeat, every breath, every shift of emotion across the field. My power hums, warm and steady. I can feel them all of them safe. Protected.

I step beside Donald, finally relaxed, yet alert. My claws retract fully. My teeth shrink back to normal. The Black Wolf within me remains, fully awakened, fully mine, fully me.

“You’re more than anyone feared,” Donald murmurs, eyes soft. “You’ve become… unstoppable.”

I nod. “And this is only the beginning.”
