Chapter 188

Chapter 188
A/N: It’s been so fun! I won’t be updating for a while on Tyson, but now that this Enormous project is done, I’ll focus on another book in July. I’m not sure which one though… this took two months.
Samira
Lustros was being watched by Bryson, since the three of them went on some little hunting trip. It wasn’t anything of note I don’t think. Tyson told me that he’d kill the deer, and Bryson would grill it. So that was their thing.
My thing was my nightly ritual, that I could do in the day. The Moon was full and out at the same time as the sun, and a little bigger than normal as well. I figured I wasn’t doing anything, so why not do it a few hours early. I walked down the halls as servants readied the castle for lunch. I figured me and the Moon Goddess could chat, and have a snack outside or something…
How ridiculous, and how novel that is… Not only is she an in-law, but she comes down regularly, and happily. If I asked for a blessing, so long as it wasn’t too big I don’t think I’d even have to earn it…
I was honestly glad that I didn’t remodel the Queen’s Quarters. The aesthetic was already beautiful, and even though at first I did feel out of place, I also felt like I should respect this space. As I held my son, walking down
It may be a former office, meeting room, and gathering place for the Lunas, but it was also a place dictated to the goddess. I wish to respect the views of my people, and the way they see this place… After all, only until incredibly recently in fae time has she been able to appear, bless, or show her love for her people in person.
This very well may be the first time since Tyson’s crowning, and my status as her High Priestess since she’s come to actively visit.
But I also thought it was best not to tell anyone else because of this either. I commanded Mr. Julina and Shakira to make sure no one was on this wing, and to bar any from coming because Lady Lulliba might not want hundreds of shifters crowding her.
I saw her vision. It was of us. Lustros will be a fine young man, since I saw his human form. He looked about 5, being a miniature Tyson if only for a lock of his hair being white.
“Let’s get started.” I clapped my hands, and the room lights dimmed with my magic. Only the dim, almost invisible glow of the fountain, and myself, filled the room. The whitish blue light reflected off every crystal glass surface, making a few disco ball sparkles, and rainbows on the walls.
The room became bright, and cool, but it was mostly because of me. I didn’t realize I had so much power as a Priestess….
With her book, I know her magics…. But I swear something felt different. It felt stronger than the last time, meaning she was stronger still.
I could have done this anytime, not just on a specific moon phase, but I chose the full moon because it seemed the most appropriate.
It felt like a fresh fall night, on a full moon when the goddess appeared in street clothes. The Moon Goddess wore black sweatpants, solid black canvas shoes, and a The black hoodie we picked out last time that had Tyson’s royal crest on it. She had dark skin this time, along with hair the color of a full silvery moon. She stood about 9ft tall, and shrank until she was Warrior height, about 6’2.
I bowed with a sly grin, “Oh mighty Blah-blah-blah, I humbly-”
I felt her hand on top of my head.
“Stop it!” She giggled. When I looked up, she was already smiling lightly. “I would not ask my priestess to be so formal… I mean… I don’t think it fair, do you?”
“No, your highness, I suppose not.” I said as I got a hug from her... She feels cool as the night after sundown, and she’s as comforting as a warm blanket on a chilly day. Her love for me was felt, and I was glad that of all the matrons out there, she was mine. “Want to have tea in the garden?” I asked.
“That would be lovely. I’ll get us some moon-water.” She smiled. With a wave of her hand, the fountain was blessed, and the castle felt brighter. The air had some unseen heft that was lifted the moment she blessed her fountain, and she summoned a glass cup. with a dunk, it was filled with water and became sterling silver. She did this twice. “This should be enough.”
“I’ll get the tea.” I said rummaging around, and finding some normal lavender tea bags. I’m sure if I found black, red, or even yellow or white lavender, she would like it, but plain I think is best. It has its own magical properties, but I wanted it for the flavor.
We took our materials outside in the setting sunlight, and we found a nice, clean table by the hedge maze. She set down the cups, and I put in the tea bags. Without heat, the tea steeped, and we chatted since it would take about the same time as if I were boiling water.
I also didn’t know how I understood that magical concept without being shared it, but I did. I just went with it.
“It’s so lovely out here. You did such a wonderful job keeping the grounds absolutely gorgeous.” Beamed my queen.
“Thank you.” I said honestly. “I just want everything Gweneth has done to be remembered, and honored. And I wholeheartedly mean that…. The Charred Ones did so much. Tyson is also a Charred One, And with the regulations he'd set in place, he built the foundation for a more peaceful pact dynamic.
He'd formally outlawed the mistreatment of the lower ranks and the omegas. No longer would they be necessarily subjugated to the plight of being unable to shift. Because they couldn't shift they were treated almost as a second class. In many packs since most Alphas felt that ‘might was right’ and it trickled down to the individuals they ruled.
And I’m glad the Realm King chose to be a real king this time…. He actually liked the idea so much that he implemented a similar ruling across all peoples. It was a unanimous and effective immediately even though honestly, I initially expected more resistance. I assumed the strong would want to keep the weak down, but I was proven wrong with the vote.
Mr. Julian came with a picture of ice water in one hand and a plate of macarons in the other. I didn't explicitly say for him to bring anything, but he saw us out here and assumed that we might want a snack to go with our tea.
“Thank you.” I smiled, while he put them on the table.
“Anything for the Queen and the Pale Lady.” He smiled.
“I thought I was hidden!” she yelled sheepishly.
“You are…” Mr. Julian hesitated. “but I observe mistress… You did not come in through the door, and teleportation is rare. We tend to forget that living around the likes of King Tyson and General Kenriel…. But if one looks… they will see.”
She smiled.
“Then I think you’ve earned this.” She summoned a white gold coin. One side had her crescent moon, and the other held Grendel breathing fire, the Charred House’s crest. “I commissioned this coin when Ashital returned to me.”
He looked gob-smacked. “Thank you… Wow…”
“Think nothing of it!” She said happily.
It wasn’t long before Tyson came with a bag of multiple take out trays in one hand, and our pup in the other… He was handsome, wearing a dirty white shirt, slightly bloodied from their hunt, but probably more so from grilling. It looked more like a barbeque accident than a horror scene, while our son was really interested, but unable to reach.
“So what did he think of meat?” I asked being handed the two pound pup.
“He tasted it.” Tyson said proudly. “He doesn’t have teeth though, so it’ll be at least three or four more moths before we have to worry about anything.
“You say that while he’s trying to eat your shirt.” I smirked.
It looked a little burnt, just the slightest bit as Lustros gummed it.
