Chapter 86 Out Of My League

Chapter 86 Out Of My League
Quinn's POV
"But that doesn't mean I wanna obey them. No, it's not like that. I'm still in complete control of myself and the relationships I have," explained Grayson.
Now I was the one who was speechless. Not because Grayson's cock was stiff again, but because of the honest words he had spoken.
Grayson's parents... I knew they would never accept me. I had realised that from the beginning. But for some reason, hearing it clearly like this made my heart ache.
I must’ve also put a lot of pressure on Grayson for him to sigh like that. He must be thinking about our relationship far into the future. After all, he is a visionary and never plays around with his future, so it's certain that he is thinking about our relationship too.
And what I want is, I don't want to ruin Grayson's relationship with his parents. But I also want to be with him.
The problem is, I don't know how.
It's not like I can just turn myself into a werewolf and boom, they'll like it.
The problem is more complex than that.
Apart from my status as a human, there must be other things to consider, such as family background, education, wealth, and so on.
I mean, what parents wouldn't want their child to marry someone of equal standing? Of course they would, and I'm well aware of that.
Grayson is the perfect young master. His family background is clear, he comes from an influential family, while I still don't even know who my father is and am still searching for my mother.
Grayson is filthy rich. Even before he became a star like he is now, he was already rich from birth. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, while I had to work for everything from scratch and even now still have financial problems, still looking for ways to pay for Dylan's treatment regularly and without going into debt.
I can only fulfil Grayson's superstition. And if he presents that reason to his parents, I'm not sure it will change their decision.
It's too impossible. Too unreasonable.
"Hey, don't be sad. I'm not saying this to make you sad."
I rubbed his hand again and turned my head slightly. "I asked you to do it. So it's not your fault."
"But you're sad because of it. I feel so guilty."
"No, Grayson. Don't feel guilty. In fact, if you hadn't told me, I would’ve been furious. After all, I don't want you to do something based on our relationship that could strain your relationship with your parents."
"Then what should I do? What should I do to make them accept our relationship?"
I don't know. This is the first time I've faced something like this.
This is not a trivial matter. It involves a fragile relationship between a child and their parents. If I make a mistake, I could end up destroying it instead of fixing it.
"Suppose I have an idea about that. Would you help me make it happen?"
"What kind of idea?" I asked curiously.
"I think we might need to introduce ourselves to them. I think I should take you to meet my father and mother. Or if it's too difficult to bring them both together, then my mother first. She's the most stubborn about who can marry me. What do you think?"
I choked on my own saliva. Grayson rubbed my back to calm me down.
"I think if we introduce ourselves, at least she'll know that you are the woman I love, who is precious in my life, and that I can't live without you. After that, we can see how she reacts. Maybe after that we can take the next step."
I didn't think Grayson's idea was bad. Come to think of it, that was the first thing we had to do. Because if she didn't know me, how could Grayson's mother accept me, right?
It's just that, to meet in this situation, where I still couldn't show any value, it felt very stupid to do.
I couldn't bring anything to the table. If I was reckless, I might ruin everything.
As if he knew my worries, Grayson stroked my cheek and kissed it gently. "Don't feel inferior. You are very valuable. You are smart, you are hard-working, you have a sincere heart, you are tough. That's enough to make you stand out from the other women out there that she wants to introduce to me."
I squeezed his hand to convey my nervousness. "But I don't have a complete family. I'm not rich either. I dropped out of college. I'm just—"
"But you helped me win every game. Because of you, I scored the highest points. Because of you, I became... better than before. I feel complete because of you, Quinn. And that's enough. I don't care about anything else."
"That's for you, Grayson. What if your mum thinks it's useless? I mean, I have nothing to offer her."
"You don't have to offer her anything. You're not selling anything. The important thing is that we give each other value. And don't forget that you've also done a great thing by helping Dylan survive until now. Just so you know, not everyone can do that. I probably couldn't do it as well if I were in your position."
Still, I don't think that's enough. I need something to boost my confidence. Something that, when compared to Kelly, at least makes me not look too bad.
Why Kelly? Because she's the type his mother likes.
"I love you. That should be enough of an answer. Nothing else is needed."
I finally turned around, facing him, exposing his penis.
I touch his cheek with my cold palm. "I'm human. Don't forget the main thing your mother is looking for. She's looking for a partner for you who isn't human, and at that first stage, I've already lost badly, Grayson."
Grayson clenched his jaw. His arms wrapped tightly around my body. “I don’t care who you are, Quinn. I love you, and that’s enough.”
Grayson then kissed my lips. “Everything will be alright as long as I’m by your side. And you’re on my side.”
