Chapter 109 Hours Before the Fierce Game Between Two Alphas

Chapter 109 Hours Before the Fierce Game Between Two Alphas
Quinn's POV
"How was your first meeting with Grayson's parents?"
"Just as I expected. His mother hates me," I replied as I flipped the sausages I was frying.
"Don't give up. You'll win her over someday."
Yeah, I hope so too. I hope there will come a time when we can both accept each other. I hope I can forgive her mistakes and she can accept me.
"Oh yeah, where's Grayson? I haven't seen him since this morning."
I stopped what I was doing in the kitchen to glance at Dylan. "He's out for a run."
Dylan scratched his head. "Oh, I forgot. He has a game the day after tomorrow, right?"
"Yes, with White Tiger," I replied.
"Why did your tone change?"
How could I tell Dylan about this? The thing was, the general manager of White Tiger had made me a crazy offer, which was to become the therapist of a player named Hanz, which had caused Grayson to misunderstand at the time.
Honestly, I was so nervous about the game the day after tomorrow. Because it would be the first time Grayson met an Alpha on the rink.
Hanz, that was the name of the Alpha from White Tiger. He was younger than Grayson, my age.
I was worried that Grayson, by competing with that team, would be reminded of the misunderstanding that had occurred between us. I'm also afraid Grayson won't be able to control his anger when he sees Hanz and Martin, the general manager.
Grayson was kind enough not to report it to his team and only gave Martin a warning. And the problem subsided as the games came and went.
But the day after tomorrow, Grayson will face that person again. Not only is the general manager annoying, but so is the player who personally asked me to be his therapist.
I really can't imagine what Grayson will do. I mean, he was already boiling just seeing me with Owen. Imagine seeing the man who openly asked me to serve him.
I'm stressed thinking about this, honestly.
"Hey, what's up, Quinn?" Dylan approached me.
I took a deep breath. "Promise you won't tell anyone?"
"Wait, you want to confide in me? Wow, that's rare!"
I raised my spatula and hit Dylan's hair. "Do you want to hear it or not?"
Dylan grimaced. "Okay, okay. I'll listen to whatever you have to say. This is your first time confiding in me. So I'll try to be a good listener."
I finally turned off the stove and put the fried sausages on a plate. Only then did I take Dylan to the living room.
Dylan was right, if I told him about my worries, it would be the first problem I shared with him. I just hoped he wouldn't worry too much but give me advice so I could calm Grayson down.
I mean, the slander had already happened and was in the past, so I wanted Grayson to let it go. I didn't want Grayson to use it as an excuse to take out Hanz on the rink.
I didn't mind if he just beat their team. But what worried me was if the two of them got into a fight on the rink during the game. That would be a big problem.
"So, what do you wanna say, my sister?"
I rolled my eyes. But a moment later, I put on a serious face. "It's about the team that will compete with Frost Maple," I said, starting the conversation.
Dylan put his hands together. He leaned forward slightly. "Well, what’s wrong about White Tiger? Did Grayson say anything about that team?"
"There's an Alpha on that team too, just like Grayson."
"That’s right. You mean Miller?"
I nodded. "Hanz Miller."
"And?"
I bit my lip. I tried to take a deep breath as I remembered how chaotic it was at the time. "He went through the team's general manager, asking me to be his therapist while I was still Grayson's therapist. Even then, the manager forced me to accept the offer because they would give me whatever salary I asked for, and it would definitely be more than what Frost Maple was giving me at the time."
"That's crazy! They blackmailed you? Have you told Grayson about this?"
I nodded. "At that time, only the manager met with me. Twice. At the first meeting, he pressured me to join, and at the second meeting, he gave me Hanz's business card so I could contact him."
"How did Grayson react? He must have been furious."
I rubbed my temples. "That's the problem, Dylan. Because of that, Grayson and I had a serious misunderstanding."
"Is that what made you decide to quit being his therapist and run away at that time?"
I shook my head quickly. "That was because I thought Kelly was his mate. But the problem I'm telling you about did contribute to it. It just wasn't the main reason I stopped working with him."
"But never mind Grayson, even though I'm angry now that I know about this."
See, I knew it. Never mind Grayson, even other players would be upset if they heard about this because it's unethical.
What Hanz did was outrageous. Whether I agreed or disagreed to follow his wishes, my career was still in jeopardy. He ruined my career and put me in an unfavorable situation.
I completely understand Grayson and Dylan's anger. But tomorrow's game can't be postponed. Both Grayson and I will be seeing Hanz for the first time.
I can control myself, at most cursing Hanz in my heart. But Grayson, who will meet him directly on the rink? Oh, just imagining it is terrifying.
I really don't want Grayson's career to be tarnished if he retaliates against Hanz on the rink. I really hope Grayson doesn't react even if Hanz provokes him tomorrow.
"Crazy. That Alpha is completely insane. Who does he think he is, trying to buy you? What kind of stupid man would think he could trade you for money? Crazy. Insane."
I played with my fingers. There is a man who bought me, and that man is Grayson.
But I didn't want to repeat that. I mean, Grayson was enough, and no other man could do it.
"But Dylan, I'm not telling you this to provoke your anger or make you hate Hanz—"
"I definitely hate him," Dylan interrupted.
I sighed. It wasn't easy to talk about this without getting mad.
But since my goal wasn't to find a group of haters, I tried to think calmly.
I looked at Dylan seriously. "If you hate him, go ahead. But right now I need your advice, Dylan. How can I calm Grayson down so he doesn't get furious when he meets Hanz at the game the day after tomorrow?"
