Stevan's Dismissal

“Laura?” Instantly, the sound in the class became silent.

"Why are you guys so quiet?" Laura approached her friends.

Jennifer smiled happily. "Have you read the group?"

Laura shook her head because she hadn't looked at her cell phone at all since last night. She spent time with Stevan, telling long stories until midnight. She even stayed overnight at Stevan's house.

Jennifer opened Reynold's message, which had been spread throughout all student groups, and then showed it to Laura. “He's really cool, right? I didn't expect him to be that brave. He really loves you, Laura.”

"No. This isn't possible. He has promised not to repeat his mistake again.” Laura looked disappointed and annoyed. She immediately left class.

“Laura! Where are you going?" Jennifer shouted, which Laura ignored. "What's wrong with her?"

“That's bad! Maybe Laura wants to meet Reynold? As far as I know, Laura doesn't agree if their relationship is published like this," said one of the students in the class.

"You're right. When Reynold told us, Laura looked very angry," added another.

“We have to go there.” Jennifer and her friends left the classroom, following Laura.

Laura continued running through the campus corridors. She ignored the students who were now watching her. Her mind is now in a state of chaos. She didn't expect Reynold to announce their relationship without consulting her first.

Reynold is now in class and surrounded by his friends. They all asked him for an explanation. Reynold could only smile as he looked at the various expressions of his friends.

“Why did you hide your engagement to Laura from us?” Reynold's friends asked simultaneously.

"Sorry. I was forced to hide my engagement at that time because the time wasn't right," Reynold answered casually. It was as if he had no burden at all. He actually felt satisfied that he could finally do what he had wanted all this time.

“Oh, so this is the reason you and Laura came together last night? No wonder you are so sweet to that woman," added Reynold's female friend.

Reynold smiled at the teasing of his classmates. “Reynold.” Suddenly, there was a sound that made the whole class silent. They turned their heads in unison, staring at the door. It turned out that at the edge of the door, there was Laura standing, looking at Reynold with teary eyes.

Reynold immediately stood up from his seat and approached Laura. "Hi," he said, smiling at the arrival of his fiancé. However, his smile suddenly disappeared when he saw the woman shed tears. "What's wrong with you?" Reynold's hand touched Laura's face, but the woman immediately pushed it away.

“Why did you break your promise?” Laura asked in a hoarse voice.

"What promise?" Reynold stared closely at his lover's face.

"Promise not to tell anyone about our relationship," Laura answered quietly. Her chest was so tight when she saw Reynold's expression that he didn't seem to have the slightest guilt. She didn't care that many students from other classes were paying attention to the two of them.

Reynold held Laura's shoulders quite tightly. “I don't think we have anything to hide anymore, Laura. Everyone should know that you are mine. I can't stand having to hide our relationship all the time. I love you. I don't want there to be any misunderstandings about our closeness.” The women around were so hurt to see Reynold say words of love to Laura. They are so jealous.

Laura's crying became louder. She let go of Reynold's hand on her shoulder. "I'm disappointed in you," she said softly. Without another word, she immediately left Reynold.

“Akkhh… fuck!” Reynold kicked the door hard, scaring all the students around him. Reynold's four friends immediately approached him and tried to calm him down.

Laura ran past the students, sobbing uncontrollably. She blamed herself, explaining why she had made the decision without thinking twice. She didn't know if the effect would be like this.

Stevan, who was walking casually towards the lecturer's room, saw Laura, who was crying, as she ran away. He was about to follow the woman, but he thought better of it because he was called by one of the lecturers.

“Stevan, you are ordered to go to the chancellor's office right now. It looks like your problem is quite serious," said the male lecturer.

"What is the problem? Does it have to be now?” Stevan didn't understand, because he didn't cause any problems at all.

“Stevan!” calls another lecturer. “Now you have to go to the chancellor's office. This is for your career."

Stevan frowned. He still didn't understand what actually happened. He felt sorry because he couldn't accompany Laura. "Okay. I will go there now.” Stevan went straight to the chancellor's room.

When he arrived in front of the chancellor's room, Stevan saw several people there. He stepped into the room. "What do you need to look for me for?" he asked politely.

“Sit down!” the campus chancellor ordered.

Stevan sat in the empty chair. He was quite surprised when he saw Martin (Reynold's father) also in the chancellor's room. He smiled, greeting the middle-aged man. However, Martin instead turned his face to look in another direction, reluctant to reply to Stevan's greeting.

“Stevan, answer my question honestly. Where are you from?" asked the campus chancellor with a serious expression. From the start, he didn't really like Stevan.

“I don't think I need to explain it in more detail. In my resume to apply for a job here, it's written clearly," answered Stevan, looking calm, even though in reality he was starting to get wary.

“Don't lie anymore, Stevan. I've looked into your life history. It's all fake. And you didn't mention your parents' names there at all.” Now Martin joined in.

Stevan was silent. He couldn't possibly tell the truth. He wondered why suddenly his father, Reynold, interfered with his life history. "Could this have something to do with yesterday's matter?" he thought to himself.

"Why are you silent, Stevan?" The Chancellor spoke again.

“I don't understand what Mr. Martin means. If the document is indeed fake, is there any proof?” Stevan tried to stay calm.

Martin smiled lightly. He then told his secretary to produce the evidence that Stevan wanted. “Please read. This evidence makes it clear that you are not Stevan Alessandro. There is no such name in the address you wrote in your resume. I've been looking for you. You are quite mysterious, and it just so happens that the police this time are looking for a wanted criminal who is famous for his frequently changing face. Could it be that you are a fugitive who has always escaped?"

Stevan gritted his teeth tightly. He held back his emotions because he had been carelessly accused by Martin. However, he couldn't move this time. He felt that it was not the time to reveal his identity. Apart from that, he also needed the king's support.

“Look! He just kept quiet. I'm sure he's not a good man. I don't want him to teach on this campus. His identity is very unclear. I want him fired from his job," continued Martin firmly. He feels powerful because he is one of the biggest donors on this campus.

The Chancellor and several campus officials in the room were seen discussing. Stevan could only remain silent and surrender, even though he did not accept being accused carelessly. "Okay. We've decided. Stevan, you were fired from being a lecturer at this campus. Starting tomorrow and forever, you don't have to teach here anymore," said the campus chancellor.

Martin smiled with satisfaction. "Give him time to say goodbye to his students, because soon he will be questioned by the police."

News about Stevan being fired spread to all students. Even rumors about identity fraud and alleged police fugitives are being discussed. Many students did not expect that behind Stevan's handsome face were many dark secrets.

Laura is now quiet in the library. She hoped that Stevan would come to see her. She had sent a message to the man, but there was still no reply. In fact, the message was still unread. She then busied herself by reading a book.

“There's hot news. Mr. Stevan was fired," said one of the students not far from Laura's place.

Laura, who heard this, immediately stood up and approached the two students. "What did you say just now?"

"You mean about that handsome lecturer?" said the student who asked back. Laura nodded her head. “He was just fired by the campus rector because he faked his identity. Heard there are also rumors that he is wanted by the police."

"What? No. That's impossible." Laura immediately ran out of the library.
