Chapter 186 Suspicion

Jeremy appeared to be traveling solo to Dawnwater Coast this time.

But secretly, Susan had already gone ahead with a team to gather intel.

It was a three-hour flight from Sunrise to Dawnwater Coast.

As soon as Jeremy got off the plane and walked out of the airport, he spotted a familiar face.

Isabella!

Isabella was attending college in Dawnwater Coast. She and Jeremy often chatted, so when she found out he was coming, she decided to surprise him by waiting at the airport.

Seeing her always brought a warm feeling to Jeremy's heart.

Without the burden of illness, Isabella had become even more stunning. She was already beautiful, but now she had an added radiance.

"Jeremy!"

Jeremy hadn't expected Isabella to come and pick him up.

"What are you doing here? Don't you have classes today?"

It wasn't the weekend, so Isabella should have been at school.

Isabella giggled, "I'm a quick learner. I can catch up on any missed classes on my own."

Jeremy had to admit, Isabella was indeed very smart. Her strong learning ability was no joke.

Still, Jeremy pretended to be stern, "Don't make a habit of it!"

Isabella playfully stuck out her tongue and led Jeremy to the parking lot. As a wealthy young woman, she naturally had a car.

But unlike others, her car wasn't flashy—just a regular Mercedes C-Class, a favorite among young women.

Jeremy had originally planned to meet Susan, but since Isabella came to pick him up, he had to let Susan and her team know he'd meet them later.

Isabella had been studying in Dawnwater Coast for two years and was now a junior. She knew the city well and spent the drive telling Jeremy all about it, even promising to take him to try the local cuisine.

Jeremy couldn't bear to refuse her and went along with her plans.

He didn't want to see her disappointed.

Under Isabella's arrangements, Jeremy didn't even go to a hotel. The Watson family owned several properties in Dawnwater Coast, and Isabella chose one for them to stay in together.

This was no ordinary place—it was Luxe Haven, a luxury residential area where even a single floor could cost tens of millions of dollars, with some properties exceeding a hundred million.

The property Isabella brought Jeremy to was worth fifty million dollars, a wedding gift from her father, Owen.

It was clear Isabella intended to give this gift to Jeremy.

Jeremy spent the day indulging her, enjoying a rare moment of leisure.

Once Isabella fell asleep, Jeremy finally stepped out.

Dawnwater Coast was even more bustling at night. As the economic center of Avalonia, any business not operating here was considered small.

Jeremy finally met up with Susan.

Over time, Susan had progressed from an Internal Force Martial Artist to a Half-step Grandmaster, thanks to the special medicine Jeremy provided.

This was one of Jeremy's greatest advantages. The MedicSage lineage had unique formulas, some seemingly out of this world.

These medicines had powerful effects, such as enhancing Inner Energy. Some could even temporarily boost a Grandmaster to the level of an Innate Realm Martial Artist, though such potent medicines were difficult to make and required rare ingredients.

The downside was that once the effect wore off, the user would inevitably die.

Susan was curious about Jeremy but genuinely admired him. She had handled the black cards Jeremy sent out from Sunrise.

She fully supported and was satisfied with everything Jeremy did.

"So, how's the investigation going?" Jeremy asked Susan. Though she didn't know his true identity, she was reliable, which was why he had her come to Dawnwater Coast.

Susan replied, "We've found that the Wilson family has been collaborating a lot with Golden Palace recently."

"Also, a Wilson family member is set to marry someone from Golden Palace."

Jeremy took a deep breath. Just as he suspected.

Golden Monarch!

Dawnwater Coast was close to Aether. Although it wasn't within Golden Palace's territory, the immense benefits of Dawnwater Coast were too tempting for Golden Palace to ignore.

"Good!" Jeremy said. "Keep digging. I want to know who else besides the Wilson family is secretly working with Golden Palace."

Susan hesitated.

She was puzzled about why Jeremy was investigating Golden Palace.

She thought of the Jeremy from Dreamville and wondered if they could be the same person.

But after careful observation, she confirmed they looked completely different.

She had even secretly investigated Jeremy and Claire but couldn't connect the dots.

Her curiosity remained.

She had seen Claire transformed into an ugly figure before. If someone could make a person ugly, they could also make them beautiful.

But she couldn't understand how Claire, if she were the same Claire from Dreamville, could have no traces of her former self.

So, she spent a lot of time with Claire, hoping to see any familiar habits.

But Claire seemed like a completely different person, with no resemblance to her past self.

A person's temperament, personality, and abilities shouldn't change.

Susan didn't know that Claire had undergone significant changes and, through her relationship with Jeremy, had completely redefined herself.

Jeremy noticed Susan's hesitation and asked directly, "What do you want to say?"

Susan spoke softly, "Mr. Taylor, we owe our lives to you, but I don't understand why you're investigating Golden Palace."

Her question was a test.

Jeremy knew Susan was smart. She had shown her intelligence back in Dreamville.

Jeremy chuckled, "Do you know the true relationship between GhostHealer and MedicSage?"

Susan frowned. The world knew GhostHealer claimed to surpass MedicSage.

To outsiders, they were either enemies or, at the very least, not friends.

Jeremy continued, "To the world, GhostHealer sees MedicSage as a lifelong rival, but in reality, they are very good friends."

"I'm curious about what happened in Dreamville and why they wanted to eliminate the MedicSage heir."

Susan was skeptical. Even if Jeremy's story was true, it seemed like a weak reason.

But she didn't press further. If Jeremy wanted to investigate, they had to follow orders.
