Chapter 58

Chapter 58

"I think I can pull this off. Do you believe in me?"

Isabella looked up at Briar. Perhaps because design projects were her forte, even when facing the trickiest situations, she showed no sign of defeat whatsoever.

The cool detachment on her face had faded somewhat, replaced by a confident boldness that seemed ready to take on anything.

Briar stared at her, a bit dazed. She blinked and said without thinking.

"I believe in you. If you say you can do it, then you definitely can!"

She suddenly felt energized and picked up the documents from the desk. "You don't need to worry about anything at the Taylor Group - I'll handle it all. And if there's anything you need help with, just ask me directly."

She gave Isabella's shoulder a firm pat, looking at her with complete admiration, as if she were a hero blazing through obstacles.

"Go for it!"

Isabella couldn't help but smile. Just as she was about to lower her head and start sketching the design, she suddenly thought of Daphne.

Daphne's attempt to frame her had failed - wouldn't she hold a grudge?

With this thought, Isabella grabbed Briar, who was about to leave, and gave her serious instructions.

"If someone claiming to be GE comes looking for you, just handle it yourself. Remember not to let her stay at the Taylor Group too long. Just say I'm not here these days, that I'm busy - anyway, don't let her come bother me."

She roughly described what Daphne looked like. Briar carefully took note and made a special call to the front desk to give them a heads up.

That afternoon, the front desk indeed called to say Daphne had shown up.

The Taylor Group's receptionist wasn't someone to be pushed around. She could tell at a glance that Daphne was no pushover, and fearing Daphne might cause a scene and create problems, she immediately called Briar.

Briar followed Isabella's instructions and went downstairs, bringing Daphne out of the Taylor Group in Isabella's name. Once outside, Briar's expression turned somewhat fierce.

"I know what you've been doing behind the scenes. You got fired, and you deserved it. If you still don't know what's good for you and keep showing up here, I'll show you what real pain feels like."

Daphne wasn't someone who scared easily, and she wasn't about to be intimidated by a few words from Briar. She opened her mouth and started cursing, her expression twisted, turning her beautiful features ugly and completely unappealing.

Briar was at a loss. Just as she was about to call the police, she heard a calm, steady voice.

"Someone, take her away. Send her back to wherever she came from."

She recognized the voice and looked up with delight. Daphne looked at the handsome man before her, her eyes turning red, but the security guards covered her mouth, leaving her unable to speak clearly.

Her eyes full of resentment, she was dragged away by the guards.

"Mr. Wright, you're here."

William nodded. "I came to check on Isabella. She hasn't been resting at all, has she?"

Briar nodded worriedly. Thinking of Isabella sitting in her office chair, barely moving except for bathroom breaks, her concern deepened.

"Mr. Wright, will it work out?"

She asked. William was silent for a moment before speaking, his voice as steady as always, yet with an unmistakable firmness.

"It will."

When William arrived at Isabella's office, she was halfway through drawing the design, still frowning at data on her computer screen.

The project's location wasn't ideal - remote and isolated, the kind of place no one wanted to go. But thinking about it differently, being remote meant it was large and spacious, which meant more possibilities and a higher margin for error.

But the budget wasn't enough. Isabella frowned slightly, thought for a moment, then decided to establish an outdoor retreat area there.

The place had the advantages of being quiet and spacious, and she naturally wanted to make the most of these strengths. Isabella planned to set up different zones - an entertainment area, a rest area, a leisure area, and of course, an Instagram-worthy photo spot.

Before long, Isabella had sketched out a design for a combined entertainment and leisure facility. Looking at the rough outline taking shape, she breathed a sigh of relief and instinctively reached for the water glass on her desk, only to find it empty.

After sitting here all afternoon, her back was sore. Forget about getting water - she didn't even want to stand up, just wanted to lean back and lie down.

If only she could have some ice water... Isabella licked her dry lips and glanced at the time on her computer. It was already after work hours. Briar had probably left for the day, and besides, she didn't want to trouble her. Maybe she should just order delivery.

"Here, drink this."

Suddenly, a low, magnetic voice sounded in her ear, and a pair of slender hands pushed an iced lemon water toward her. Isabella looked up in surprise to see William, who had appeared without her noticing, his eyes crinkling with a very gentle smile.

"I heard from Briar that you haven't rested at all since taking on this project. I knew you wouldn't want to rest, so I came to check on you."

He said with a soft laugh. Isabella suddenly felt a bit nervous. She glanced at her messy desk and cleared her throat, her expression becoming awkward.

"When did you get here? You didn't even tell me."

William walked behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders, gently massaging.

"Don't worry about me, just do your thing. You must be thirsty, right? I happened to buy an iced lemon water. Have some - it'll perk you up so you can keep working."

His sudden closeness made Isabella stiffen, but his hands on her shoulders remained proper. He just gently kneaded her shoulders with appropriate pressure, doing nothing inappropriate. Plus, the pressure felt just right, so Isabella gradually relaxed, feeling her constantly aching neck improve somewhat.

"Thank you, William."

She thanked him softly, opened her tired eyes, and picked up the iced lemon water from the desk.

The sweet, refreshing iced lemon water perked Isabella up a bit, and much of the accumulated fatigue dissipated. She patted the hand on her shoulder.

"Thanks for the massage. I feel much better. Come look at this design. If there's anything wrong with it, let me know, and I'll revise it."

Before releasing his hands, William gave her shoulders a couple more massages, then pulled over a nearby stool and sat down to look at the design in Isabella's hand.

As he looked, his previously furrowed brow relaxed. Worried he couldn't see clearly enough, he took the design directly and examined it carefully.

"Very good, very good. Your design is excellent."

After finishing, William praised her softly.

"I didn't expect that you're not only talented at fashion design, but just as good at designing other things."

Isabella smiled.

"You're too kind. I just sketched it out after getting some inspiration. Does it really work?"
