Chapter 183 Very Famous

Chapter 183 Very Famous

Just then, a voice called out from outside.

"Someone's coming back."

Amelia quickly assessed the situation and ordered her guards to take both women away.

Jason was still arguing loudly with the guards at the front entrance. Their patience had clearly worn thin — one more spark and fists would fly.

Meanwhile, Amelia and her team scaled the wall again, bringing the two women out with them.

Jason kept one eye on their progress. The moment he saw they'd made it, he flashed a grin and backed off, retreating smoothly.

Amelia got everyone clear fast.

About ten minutes later, the guards at the gate started to catch on.

"What was that punk's problem earlier?"

"Do any of you know him? Ever seen him around here before?"

"He shows up out of nowhere, starts yelling, then just leaves?"

The guards exchanged uneasy looks.

Something clicked.

One of them turned and sprinted toward the villa.

When he reached the basement and saw the door hanging open, his blood ran cold.

The two prisoners were gone.

The news reached Dylan immediately.

Listening to the report, he exploded with rage.

He'd locked those women in the basement to keep them buried — under his control, unable to talk. One of them had been tied up, the other half-dead. There was no way they could've escaped on their own.

Then it hit him. That familiar silhouette he'd seen when he left the estate.

Amelia.

It had to be her.

If she'd gotten both Jenny and Kelly out, this was a disaster. Amelia had been digging into the truth for years. If she found out he'd framed George all those years ago — that he was the reason Wilson Corporation had been targeted by Rose —

Amelia wasn't someone to take things lying down.

And Wilson Corporation was a force to be reckoned with.

Amelia rushed both women straight to the hospital.

Jenny had a gash on her forehead that required over a dozen stitches. As soon as she was admitted, she started making calls to her own people.

Kelly only had minor injuries. The doctor said she could leave after a short observation.

They were placed in the same room.

Amelia knocked and entered. Both women turned to look at her.

Kelly spoke first. "I owe you my life."

Jenny coughed lightly. "I owe you one too. But I'll be settling that debt soon — with the information you're looking for. I don't like owing anyone favors."

Amelia nodded. "I've already filed a report with the authorities. I gave them the full details of your abductions. Someone will be by shortly to take your statements."

Kelly's expression remained calm.

Jenny's face darkened.

As a corporate spy, her instinct was to avoid law enforcement at all costs. If they got even a thread on her, they could unravel everything. She'd spent years staying off their radar for exactly this reason.

"I didn't ask for your help with that," Jenny said sharply. "I'll handle it myself."

Amelia knew exactly what she was worried about.

Too bad. She'd already told Lawrence everything.

Jenny had made a career out of corporate espionage. She'd been reckless, brazen — and she'd gone after Wilson Corporation.

People had to pay for their arrogance eventually.

It wasn't long before the authorities arrived.

Lawrence led the team.

He'd been handling the murder case from the start. Now that there was finally a lead, he wasn't about to let it slip.

Jenny was stuck in that hospital room with nowhere to go. She'd claimed she had hard evidence. Lawrence wasn't going to pass that up.

Kelly, on the other hand, cooperated fully.

Dylan clearly hadn't expected her to escape his control. That's why he'd been so careless — confessing outright that he was the one who'd killed Cecil all those years ago.

All of it could be used as evidence.

Amelia stood outside the door, listening quietly to the conversation inside.

"You've been going nonstop since this morning without eating. I grabbed you a flatbread from the stand outside. At least take a bite."

Hannah held out a savory pastry stuffed with preserved greens and pork.

Honestly, Amelia had no appetite.

"You have it."

Hannah didn't argue. She bit into it and said, mouth half-full, "Ms. Wilson, I think we've done more than enough. That construction site murder case — it's going to be solved soon."

"Yeah," Amelia murmured. "My grandfather's name will finally be cleared."

That afternoon, the authorities issued an arrest warrant.

Dylan Evans, CEO of Rona Corporation, was wanted for premeditated murder, conspiracy, and corporate espionage. Multiple charges.

But when officers arrived at the company to make the arrest, Dylan was already gone. He wasn't at his office.

They went to his estate next. Empty.

He must have realized Jenny and Kelly had been rescued and bolted while he still could.

Overnight, Rona Corporation's reputation tanked.

Stock prices plummeted. The business empire started to crumble.

Leaderless.

Kelly couldn't just stand by and watch the company fall apart. Even if her abilities were limited, she had to do something.

The first thing she did was consolidate what was left of the company's resources. Then she proposed a merger — Rona Corporation would become a subsidiary of Wilson Corporation, retaining its current operations and assets, with her as acting head.

The decision surprised Amelia.

Kelly had always been stubborn, proud. Why would she willingly hand over control like this?

Of course, Wilson Corporation had always wanted to expand and absorb competitors.

But Kelly's reasoning was simple: gratitude.

Word spread fast. Amelia's reputation for decisive action climbed even higher.
