Chapter 118 CHAPTER 118

Chapter 118 CHAPTER 118
Just like Doveris feared, Sir Elvador and his men came over the following day to take her to the palace.

She had prepared to flee the pack before Avara summons her, but her plan failed when the head guard showed up early, passing on the Alphas' command.

"Let's go," Elvador ordered, waiting for Doveris to move.

The sorceress who managed to compose and hide her worry, spoke confidently, in her usual proud tone, "Fine. You can leave, I'll come soon."

"The Alphas have ordered us to bring you along. So, we aren't leaving," Elvador replied in a serious tone, making Doveris scared inside.

She gulped and gave in, following the guards out of the building, getting stared at by other magic holders below her.

They all watched her being taken away by the guards, wondering what was going on.

But no one could ask. All they could do was stand by and watch.

Despite being afraid, Doveris maintained her composure like all was well, but deep inside her heart she was screaming to the heavens to give her a way out.

"Before we get to the palace, I'll vanish. Yes, I'll disappear without any trace," she planned in her mind, entering the carriage the guards came with.

Just as they were getting close to the palace, "Everyone is here?!" She panicked on seeing the pathway to the palace completely filled with the people of Crescent pack!

The Alphas invited everyone because of Doveris, and this frightened the Sorceress, making her drop her plan to vanish.

If she chooses to disappear right now, she'll lose everyone's love, proving she's the pack's enemy, and she doesn't want that.

"No, not like this. This can't be happening," she quivered in her spot, as her fingers danced uncontrollably, exposing her fear to the head guard who sat opposite her.

"Where's your staff, Sorceress?" Elvador questioned when he noticed Doveris didn't come with her staff.

The Sorceress who was lost in her fright, felt her heart skip when the head guard asked.

She turned to face him and met his serious gaze hovering all over her from head to toe.

Gulping down the lump in her throat, she answered, trying to stay calm, "Couldn't take it along because you didn't give me the time, Elvador."

"I didn't stop you from taking your staff, Sorceress. All I said was we won't leave without you. You're the sorceress Doveris. Your staff is a part of you," Elvador pointed out, making Doveris's flesh tremble.

She glared at the head guard and looked away, staring at the outside silently as the carriage arrived at the gate of the palace, causing her heart to drop with terror.

"We're here," Elvador said, opening the door for the sorceress to step out.

A scared Doveris had no choice but to step out, as she looked towards the palace and found the Alphas sitting on their throne which was mounted outside, with Avara sitting in their middle.

When Doveris laid eyes on the Luna, she flashed to the beating from yesterday and staggered back, almost losing her balance.

Her action was noticed by Elvador who stared at her strangely, and asked, "Is everything alright?"

Doveris, who had her eyes fixed on Avara, gulped in fear, reaching her hand up to her face to feel the areas where those bruises used to be.

If not for the healing herb she made to heal herself, by now everyone would be asking questions, wondering how she got beaten up.

"I'm fine," Doveris replied to Elvador, still standing in her place, unable to move.

But she was gestured to move forward, having no choice but to walk, as her chest tightened and raced with speed.

Getting close, a frightened Doveris managed to bow before the Alphas and Avara, only to get blasted with one question, "Where were you yesterday, Doveris?"

She gulped hard, keeping her head down, while her heart pounded like a hammer striking a wall.

What scared her more was Avara's silence. She can't tell what's going on in her mind. "Why's she quiet? Does everyone know she's Aurora?" She wondered in fear, unable to lift her head.

"We asked you a question, Doveris! Where were you yesterday?!" Hugo roared, making the great sorceress shiver, as she finally lifted her eyes up to the Alphas and the Luna, looking for the best answer to deliver.

"Your Majesties, I..." She paused, glancing at Avara who gazed at her emotionlessly, making the sweat on her head flow down to her face.

"I was absent, your Majesties. Something important came up, so I left to attend to it," she answered with a low voice, unable to use her usual bold and proud tone to speak.

Her behavior felt weird to everyone present.

"What happened to the sorceress?"

"Why's she sounding so weak?"

"Did something happen to her?" The people gossiped, observing the change in her behavior.

No one recognized this weak Sorceress. What happened to their powerful Sorceress?

"Where exactly did you go to? Surely this place has a name, right?" Dean spoke up with an icy tone, waiting for the sorceress's response.

This left Doveris thinking and sweating. Due to her fear of Aurora's return, she didn't get the time to plan ahead for this.

What can she say?

"Alphas, why are you questioning the sorceress like she's a criminal?" Pesus who happened to be present with other elders, spoke up, defending Doveris.

"You haven't told us why you summoned the whole people to the palace this morning. What's going on?" He added, getting the other elders to support him.

Just as they were raising their voices over the Alphas' behavior towards Doveris, the elders were immediately silenced when Amon who was present, spoke out loudly for everyone to hear, "Why don't you ask her what she was trying to do to the Luna outside the pack yesterday?"

"What nonsense are you saying?" Pesus asked, glancing at Doveris then at Amon with doubt.

"The truth, Pesus. Doveris right here..." He pointed at her, making her body shiver and her eyes pop when she saw Amon's finger pointing in her direction.

"She was present when our pack was under attack. She didn't go anywhere to attend to any emergency! She saw what was happening, yet, instead of saving her people from the danger lurking around, she targeted the Luna!" Amon revealed, stunning everyone!

Doveris felt her whole world collapsing as she stood there all stiff, not knowing how to escape this.

"Everyone is talking. Everyone is... Is talking! " She breathed heavily, listening to the people's murmuring voices all around.

Then lifting her eyes to stare at the emotionless Avara... "Why are you staring at me like that, Aurora? What are you up to?! What are you planning to do to me?!" She cried within, afraid of the unknown that awaited her.
