Chapter 110 CHAPTER 110

Chapter 110 CHAPTER 110
AVARA

“DOVERIS!”

“TAKE THIS BARRIER AWAY!”

“DOVERIS!”

I could hear my Alphas' furious roars and hard pounds against the force field the sorceress placed in their way, keeping them away from me!

She did the same with Lily, Amon, and the guards!

“Do not interrupt! I need to tackle the darkness in her!” Doveris roared, ignoring the Alphas and the voices of those who were worried about me.

She didn’t want any distraction while carrying out her so-called cleansing.

Doveris wants to wipe me for good!

I had a feeling from the first time I laid eyes on her that she hated me.

She has been pretending to adore my achievements so far as a human, but that was just an act to make everyone think she actually likes me!

I have no doubt now that her favorite is Adira.

That drama of expelling evil out from her body, that drama of Adira being innocent… They have been working together!

“Ahhh!” My scream echoed around, as these demonic hands kept me down, preparing me for Doveris’s execution.

If I try to pull myself up, their grip would go tight around my joints like they want to rip me apart!

I could feel my whole body going weak, as I fell back down on my knees, lifting my head up to see Doveris chanting her spell, refusing to let the Alphas or anyone’s voice distract her again.

Her eyes were filled with this deadly thirst for blood and pure evil, as her staff started glowing bright yellow, ready to strike me.

The moment my eyes saw this glow rising from her staff, I felt an indescribable strength overpowering me in that moment!

It was so strong. Like a will to stay alive!

As soon as I felt the wave flow around my body, I gave out a powerful scream and suddenly overpowered these demons!

Their hands were the ones ripping apart from the darkness, crumbling before my feet as my voice kept echoing around like a beast’s roar, making the darkness around me, fall back in terror!

Doveris failed to notice what was happening. She had released her strike, only for the wind and darkness to spread out with great force, pushing her own strike back at her!

There was shock in her eyes when this happened. And before the blast she released would hit her, Doveris swiftly placed a shield over herself and everyone close to her, making the attack hit the shield instead.

I could see the disbelief in her gaze when we locked eyes.

She wasn’t expecting the trap she set to shatter like that. She’s confused.

I stared at her, breathing heavily from the terror she inflicted on me, as my heart boiled with intense hate I have never harbored for someone in my entire life.

This hate was pure, like it has been in me for ages. And as I gazed at Doveris… “Doveris,” I whispered that name weakly, feeling my veins pumping like fire.

Unable to stand, my legs suddenly gave out, and I fell to the floor, feeling so dizzy.

“AVARA!” I heard my name, but my eyes were spinning and I couldn’t stay focused.

“My Queen!” I heard Lily’s cry, as she ran up to me and quickly pulled me into her arms.

It was clear the force field Doveris placed was removed, because I could hear Amon’s raging voice at Doveris and my Alphas calling and running up to me.

“Avara! AVARA!”

“Hugo?” I groaned, struggling to keep my eyes open to look at his face when he pulled me out of Lily’s hold and into his arms.

But I couldn’t. My body was weak.

“Were you trying to kill the Luna?!” Amon was shouting at Doveris, but he was attacked back by other elders, who didn’t hesitate to point out that I’m the source of the darkness the sorceress felt.

“I knew from day one that this human was no good!”

“She has brought in darkness to our land!”

“NONSENSE!” Amon fought back, defending me.

I felt my head gently falling on Hugo’s chest, as Dean and Jay’s voice came in the background, calling out Doveris for her action.

“You said you were cleansing, but you were clearly harming Avara!”

I didn’t hear Doveris’s voice. She was silent. Too silent.

I managed to open my eyes a little and saw how the sorceress stared out to nothing, all lost, while the people she scarred with her actions, were wondering if truly I harbored such evil in me.

“That woman is no good, Alphas. She brought evil into our land!”

“Silence before I silence you myself!” Jay threatened, frightening the elders at once.

Just then, “I couldn’t expel the evil in her,” Doveris spoke, finally looking at me.

She gave me this deadly look and said out loud for everyone to hear, “This human has brought in a demonic force that will deliver this pack into the hands of its enemies!”

Her words made everyone scared, as many stared at my direction, mumbling in shock.

“The Luna?”

“That can’t be right. She has always been good to us.”

自由“But the darkness came out from her. She will bring us doom!”

The people’s panic became unsettling. I felt so mad and tried to force myself to speak, but my energy failed me.

I felt so heavy all around me.

“Are you out of your mind, Doveris?! Do you even know what you’re saying?!” Hugo snapped, holding me close.

“You’re accusing the same human who saved our pack from getting taken over by demon bats, and saved the people of Night Howl from poisoning?!” Dean roared standing in front with Jay by his side.

But Doveris stood tall and said with no fear, “I have been the loyal sorceress of this pack and a mentor to every other werewolf magic holder all around. And for years, I have done everything in my power to make sure our people are safe.”

“That still doesn’t give you the right to accuse Avara of being evil. Whatever you claimed to have flowed out from her, didn’t come from her,” Dean said, making Doveris frown.

She gave me a quick glance and turned to everyone, saying, “There’s a reason why Aurora placed a barrier over our pack. To keep enemies out, including humans.”

She turned to face me, locking eyes with me.

“They tried to dominate and outsmart us. Their brains are filled with darkness. They killed our kind to learn more about us. That’s when Aurora snapped and made me place this barrier, blinding the humans from ever finding the portal into our world!”

“Times have changed. The humans who attacked then are no more. I have lived among humans and I can tell you that you speak wrongly of them. Avara is clean,” Amon spoke up, testifying for my kind.

But it only made Doveris laugh and claim the humans are using their smart knowledge to brainwash them into thinking everything is okay.

“That’s why they sent her,” she pointed at me, as her eyes filled up with intense hatred.

“Their secret weapon. They must have found out that our Luna was gone and to step into our land to deceive us all, then unleash the main plan by turning this peaceful world into hell!”

“I can see that your journey has really turned you into something else, Doveris,” Hugo spoke, getting on her nerves.

“You look nothing like the Doveris we know. You are completely the opposite.”

“Alpha Hugo, please,” she smiled, swaying her head.

“I can understand how much this human has blinded you three into making you think she’s the closest thing to Aurora. But you have to believe me when I tell you that Avara is going to bring more danger to this land if we don’t get rid of her!”

“She is going nowhere!” The Alphas roared, growling at the sorceress.

Their desperation to protect me was seen by everyone and by Doveris as well. And the intensity of their devotion for me made her face twist with disgust.

“Didn’t you see what happened?” She spoke out loud again, bringing discomfort into everyone’s heart.

“I tried to expel the evil in her, but it fought back, refusing to leave her body. It’s like she said…” She smirked, looking at me again.

“Negative energy attracts negativity. That only proves her heart is evil, and she’s here for a reason. To destroy us all!”

“I am the one who invited Luna Avara to our land. She’s just an innocent girl who wanted to belong in a place that will accept her. She has no evil in her heart,” Amon defended, getting extremely mad at Doveris’s accusations.

“And if she was filled with evil, the Feathryn would be the first creature to sense it. It’s an animal like us, but with a sharper sense to detect. If Avara truly was evil, that beast would have reacted,” he made a point which left Doveris swollen.

But it didn’t stop the sorceress from talking.

She scoffed and said, “How many times do I have to remind you that she is a human? They are smart creatures. She must have found a way to tame that beast so it can’t expose her.”

“You all are blinded by the little things she has done. But you are failing to see that her presence is weakening our barrier!” she accused, stretching her staff into the air, releasing a ball of light which flew high, hitting the shield.

The minute the power touched this barrier, the magical shield came to view, looking like a cracking glass that’s about to crumble soon.

This frightened everyone, making them question why the dome looked like that.

That’s when Doveris spoke, “You all were wondering how the demon bats came into our land with ease. Trust me, the shaman wouldn't have gotten through if he hadn’t perceived her evil aura. It saw the weak link and successfully broke in.”

Her words were beginning to get into everyone’s mind, making them look at me with terror.

They were believing her.

I was troubled inside and tried to fight this weakness so I can say something.

“It pains me to see how you Alphas are submitting to this woman’s control. This is what she wants. Get Aurora’s mates to love her, mark her, and crown her Luna. That way she rules us all and pave the way for her people to come in and destroy us!”

As she accused on, fueling everyone’s mind against me… “Dark… Magic,” I forced out from my mouth so that Hugo will hear me.

And he did.

He looked down at me and asked, while Doveris was still talking, “Avara, what’s that?”

“Dark… dark magic. Doveris… She’s using… Dark magic,” I struggled, going weak again, catching my breath.

The moment Hugo grabbed what I was saying, “Are you practicing dark magic?” He questioned Doveris openly, stunning the sorceress at once.

I saw how her eyes widened like she has been caught. Even her lips couldn’t move quickly to come up with an answer.

“You used dark magic, didn’t you?!” He questioned harder, as all three Alphas glared at her.

This question now got many looking at Doveris, as they found her silence suspicious.

Just then, “Seriously?” Doveris scoffed pitifully at the Alphas.

“I’m practicing dark magic? Is that what she told you?” she mocked, stamping her staff to the ground.

“Alphas, I love my people, and I loved Aurora with all of my heart. She had so many things she hated and didn’t like, and one of them was dark magic. It corrupts one’s mind, and you lose your identity. If I was practicing dark magic, I won’t be standing here talking to all of you. Instead…”

She landed her attention on me like she was sending me a message, and said, “I’d be destroying this pack and everything in it,” she said.

There she goes again with the loyalty card.

Always using Aurora’s name and her closeness to the Luna to save herself.

“I am disappointed in myself for presenting this human to all as our future Queen. If I had felt her evil earlier, I would have exposed her sooner and left the quest to continue. But it’s not too late.” She smiled, turning to face the people.

“Now that I’m back, I will see to it that everything goes in the right way. Avara will not be our Queen. I will raise a new Luna. We will restart the quest!”

“You must be mad if you think we’ll let you replace our mate,” Jay vented, placing his hand on my shoulder.

“We already marked her. She is the only Luna worthy to take Aurora’s place,” Dean added, placing his hand on my leg, glaring at the sorceress.

“You can run the quest as much as you want. Just remember that it is fruitless without the mates,” Hugo reminded Doveris.

All three made it clear to everyone and to Doveris that they will not leave me nor pick another Luna.

And from the way she stared at us, it’s clear that she’s annoyed.

“Hmm. I won’t argue any further, Alphas. The best I can do is advise you three to round up your feelings for this human quickly, because the danger I can feel coming to our land, will be massive, unless she’s driven out of our world as soon as possible.”

“Avara must return to where she came from or Crescent Moon will suffer greatly. If you truly love your people, you’ll do what’s right,” she said, before storming away.

I watched her leave with her white robe flowing from behind, flashing a weird image in my head of Doveris in this same furry apparel, running away instead of walking.

Why does it look like I’m chasing after her?

“Doveris!” I heard myself yelling out her name, as she turned back to look at me in terror, pointing her staff at me.

Then a blazing light struck me.

“What was that?” I spoke faintly, finally closing my eyes.
