CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

LIONEL'S POV

I closed my eyes, praying that my mother would believe the cock and bull story my brother just talked about.

Luckily for me, she looked at my brother and laughed hysterically. "You are very stupid you just told me all I need to know about the Gem without your brother saying a word," my mum said, Just at that moment, she and my father burst into laughter.

I bent my head trying to hide the smile that crept to the corners of my lips. My brother just looked at me and walked out.

I followed behind, leaving my parents to laugh at his stupidity. Audrey entered his and banged the door behind him.

I followed shortly after, I could see the anger in his eyes as he looked at me, "I saw the smile on your fucking say when they were laughing" he screamed.

He was right but the smile might be nothing though, I was just acknowledging my mum's great sense of humor, "come on, that was nothing bro" I said trying to calm his anger but he was still pissed.

He didn't want to hear anything I said, I guess he was thinking that I was being ungrateful even after he saved me from that situation.

I walked to where he stood and placed my right hand on his shoulders but I shrugged it off rudely, I exhaled and placed my hand back on my thighs.

"I appreciate what you did back then bro, I would never make you feel like a fool, I promise," I said and walked out of his room slowly.

I closed the door behind me after leaving his room. "Shit, I'm so stupid," I said, using my hand to hit my forehead repeatedly as I walked.

I would have tried my best to hide that smile, my brother is the only person I can tell the truth to, the only person that knows my secret and keeps it as a secret. I owe him a lot and I am waiting till we get the Gem, The powers of the Gem would be shared equally among my parents and me. My part of the powers will further be divided between my brother and I.

That is how much I owe him. But the idea of me getting the Gem isn't settled, because it seems she's already attracted to her Vampire mate and I came too late.

I went to my room, immediately I entered, I sensed the familiar atmosphere of my room and smiled. Being enveloped in this familiar space was overwhelming. I sat on my bed ready to enjoy my alone time till I got a phone call.

Fuck, I'm not in the mood for calls, I took out my phone to check who the caller was, and it was Victoria Delgado.

This was the girl Andi mistook as Andi, she was Vikky, Lucas's daughter. She's one of the few surviving witches, who my parents had trained as a child. She is very strong, being born from a hybrid and a wolf. We are lucky to have her by our side.

How she started leaving with us is a long story that I'm willing to break down. Although I wasn't born then, Victoria is over a hundred years old now, if not more, and she's still looking 16. That's certainly the effect that comes along from being born by a hybrid and a witch.

Well, a long time ago during the fight between witches and humans. Her mother, Glinda, the witch that was born from a weird union between a witch and a werewolf, Dracula, was pregnant with a child.

During the war, she went into labor and gave birth to a bouncing baby girl. Due to her delay, the werewolves and the Vampires had combined powers and created the Gem.

Unknown to her that her fellow witches are being kept in a Gem, she bathed the baby and placed her under a tree. She looked at Lucas who had been there assisting her throughout the process of the delivery. "Keep her safe while I fight the battle and avenge my mother's death," she said as she stood up to go.

Lucas never knew that was his final goodbye to his wife, he kissed her forehead and waved her farewell.

Lucas, hearing the news about his wife, ran to a cliff and threw Vicky down in tears, Blaming her for the death of his wife. Thinking that Vicky was dead, he ran away and was never seen again, not until now that the Gem was in the hands of a naive pink-haired girl.

Well, unluckily for Lucas or rather Luckily for Vikky, she got saved by my grandparents I think, or maybe my great-grandparents. The story isn't stable in my memory.

Since then, she has lived with us, being on our side, no matter what it took. She likes my parents' puppet but she's my best friend aside from my brother, she's the next person I feel comfortable with.

Well, she looks nothing like Andi, we were just messing with Denise's Vision that day, we just wanted to make her jealous and I guess she was.

We knew Denise was coming because Vikky has a lot of powers and one of the powers is the ability to see something six hours before that thing happens. So Vikky knew she was coming and decided to mess with her.

It worked though, I cut her attention which was short-lived. There was no point in doing that the other day.

As for Vikky's life story, no one is sure what happened, we just gathered pieces of what people heard and made it a story. Vikky hates her father so much, she really wants to watch him die, for trying to kill her.

But Lucas can't die, at least not now. He has a lot of work to do. After his work for us is done, we will drain him off his last blood.

The ringing in my phone was persistent, taking me away from my thoughts. I picked up the call and placed the phone on my ears.

"Motherfucker, why did it take you so long to pick up my call, you dick head," she said in a harsh tone.

Oh yes, I forgot to add, she is one of the few people in this realm who can never be polite no matter what. I'm already used to her calling me names, it's not something new I guess. It's possible that calling people names is part of the powers she got from her parents. Since three different blood flows in her veins. She has the blood of a Vampire, werewolf, and a witch as well, although the witch's blood flows more through her veins.

"What's up, why did you call me?" I asked as I laid my back on my soft bed.

She kept me quiet for some time and I desperately wanted to end the call and get some rest. But if I mistakenly end the call, she is going to chop off my head and place it on a golden platter. The thought of that made me chuckle.

"Oi, have you found a way to get the Gem?" She asked as if she cared. She only cares about Taking her mother out of the Gem, she isn't even interested in the kind of powers the Gem possesses.

"Hell no, if there is a magic or spell you can use on her so she can like me, I'll appreciate it. '' I said and she burst into laughter from the other end.

Her laughter lasted for a long time and was getting me angry but I had to suppress my anger. She hates it when I show anger in my actions or even my voice. Well, the summary of it is that she hates it when I get angry at her, especially when she's the cause of the anger.

"What's funny?" I asked, trying to make my voice as cool as possible. It was then she stopped laughing and tried to be serious.

"Oh shoot me a thousand times if I ever make a love potion for a girl that's supposed to be your mate" she yelled, making me shift the phone from my ear.

She yelled more, although I didn't hear the rest of it because the phone was away from my ear, but I knew she was talking about how unloving I am, and how I let a naive girl slip away from my palm.

When she was done yelling, I placed the phone back on my ears and said "She fucking has two mates, she is a hybrid, just like you"

There was a little bit of silence though before she spoke up.

"I think I need to get close to this girl to know her motives," she said.

I was strongly against this idea because of how people who were against her turned out to be on her side.

"You can't do that, She has the spirit of drawing people to herself and making them on her side, look at Audrey, Blanc, and Lucas, your father. What if Lucas noticed you are his daughter? There are so many things you need to consider before making such a decision" I said and there was silence for a long time. It seemed like she was thinking about what I just said.

"First of all, I'm not afraid of my bastard father knowing me and secondly do you have a better idea, Dickhead?" She asked and ended the call immediately.

I needed to stop her from making such a mistake, so I jumped down from my bed and put on my shoes. Stopping her was my priority right now, I know how Vikky can get soft-hearted if she becomes close to Denise.
