WORKING FOR DRACULA

CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE

BLANC'S POV

I looked around and I saw vampires everywhere but it seemed like they weren't seeing me.

As I walked on the rocky road, I saw my mum coughing out blood and Dracula's maid holding a cup that was filled with blood.

"I can't drink any blood, Grand Dracula please" My mum yelled, coughing out more blood.

Dracula came down from his throne, and with steady steps, he went towards my mother, he dragged her by the hair while he raised her.

With anger, I ran to Dracula to punch him but my hands passed through him. "I'm I dead? Did Lucas kill me".

I tried holding my mother but my hands passed through her body again, "If your stupid son doesn't get the Gem, it will become worse" Dracula yelled and threw my mother on the floor. With great force, my mother's body landed on the floor and she let out a small cry.

The tears that hung in my eyes flew down helplessly. Seeing my mother in such a devastating state weakened my bones and my face Fell.

"You will never get that Gem as far as I am alive" I heard Lucas's voice from behind. I turned around only to see Lucas leaning on a wall. His body had entered the wall just like the way my hand passed through my mother's body.

His body looked smoky, he looked like a ghost. I didn't bother about his appearance though, I just wanted to know what happened to me, whether I was dead or in between the dead and the living.

"What have you done to me" I tried screaming but my voice came as a whisper. The surprise on my face was very noticeable which made Lucas chuckle. He has taken my voice as well.

"I noticed you shout a lot, so I held a decent amount of your voice so you can control the rate at which your voice goes when you are talking to me," he said walking towards me.

I didn't know what to say, so with haste I returned to watching my mum who was crawling on the floor to the room Dracula had locked her in all this while.

The maid drank the remaining blood, and that's when I realized that I had really missed the taste of blood. I locked the bottom of my lips in as though I was the one taking the blood.

Lucas tapped my back after getting to where I was. "It's either you are for me or him," He said pointing to Dracula who was seated on the throne.

"I have always been for you and followed all your instructions," I said, looking around Dracula's castle.

Lucas let out a loud laugh which lasted for a long time before answering me. "I know the plan you, Andi, and Dracula plotted, I'm not stupid Blanc" Lucas spoke up. A mixture of shock and fear enveloped me and was evident in the Express I wore on my face.

"I am a very bad liar" I whispered to myself. Yes, Dracula, Andi, and I made a plan when Dracula came to the realm of the human.

How would he expect me to be against Dracula who has the ability to kill my mother in a snap of a finger? I went behind him and Denise and planned a new plan that involved getting their trust so I could know the new place the Gem was kept.

Andi hatched the plan which Dracula thought was a great plan, little did we know that Lucas was a step ahead of us. That was one of the reasons I was reluctant to leave Denise, don't get me wrong, I have strange feelings for Denise but I also have to save my mother. I knew my mother before Denise.

It now came to light, Lucas wanted me out of Denise because he sensed my evil motive. But how did he know, Dracula closed my thoughts concerning the plan so that Lucas would not be able to read my thoughts.

"I was scared okay, Dracula came, he threatened me and I got scared," I said, stuttering. I felt defeated and stupid. I don't know if I was for Dracula or against Dracula. Everybody was just tossing like I was a mere commodity.

"What happened and why wasn't I able to read your thoughts about that?" Lucas asked.

With a sigh, I narrated all that transpired that day Dracula came to the realm of the living.

Flashback**********************************

When I didn't find Lucas in the house and Denise wasn't inside as well. Dracula dragged me into the small building near Denise's main house.

In there, Andi was standing looking at me without remorse. She cheated on me and didn't bother to apologize or even show a sad face.

In anger, I decided to exit the building but Dracula held me back. "I do not care the kind of argument you and Andi are in, I just want the Gem and both of you are going to help me get it" Dracula's in a serious tone. His scary voice filled the room sending shivers to My spine.

I was reluctant at first because I was already having feelings for Denise although my feelings weren't reciprocated but when Dracula reminded me of my mother's predicament, I immediately agreed to the plan.

"So you are going to play along with them, gain their trust, after that we can get the Gem. You are already a step closer to gaining Lucas's trust as for Denise, you already have her trust" Andi said, the breakdown seemed simple but it wasn't at all.

I paced around with my hands on my chin, thinking about this new plan, "Lucas can read minds okay, he is definitely going to find out, I can't do that" I said, my voice shaking out of fear.

Dracula let out a loud and wicked laugh. The laughter filled the room and I prayed silently that Lucas won't hear it. "that's not a problem, I'll close your thoughts about the plan" he said, as he came closer to me.

I was frightened at the thought of him closing my thoughts, what was he going to do? I cleared my throat to talk but I couldn't the fear I felt was too much.

He brought out a smoky wall-geko from a covered plate and handed it over to Andi, so she could hand it over to me.

I took it by the tail, holding it in a scared manner.

"Eat it" Dracula commanded. The surprise in my face was very evident and Andi showed surprise as well.

How can I eat a Wall-geko, I'm a vampire, not a carnivore.
