Chapter 32

Mira's POV

We arrived at the venue of the date and Darren parked his car. When I got out, I realized we were at a resort at the top of a hill; it was the most beautiful sight I've ever seen. I couldn't help but gasp.

“Oh my gosh, this is the most beautiful sight I've ever seen,” I muttered. Darren walked closer to me and whispered to my ears, “We're not done yet, there's still more.” I looked at him.

“Really?”

“Hmm mm.” He nodded. He took my hands, and we walked some distance. It looked like every step we took. The sight was even more beautiful than the previous one. There were lights everywhere, adorning everything, even the trees! Even fireflies!! It looked like a fairytale. We got to a raised pavement, and I realized that's where the date was. There was a table and chairs and it had been arranged for our arrival. A chef was standing nearby.

“Darren... You did all of this?” I asked gobsmacked. He chuckled.

“Who else would?” He asked and tucked some of the stray hair that the evening wind had plucked out behind my ears. I smiled and gripped his hands tighter.

“So... Shall we?” He asked. I smiled and I nodded, too stunned to speak. We walked up the pavement and just as we were about to seat, he brought his phone.

“What's that for?” I asked.

“Well, Tina had requested I take a picture of us and show it to her later. That's what am about to do.” Then drawing me closer to himself positioned his phone so we could take a selfie. “Say cheese...”

“Cheese..” and he took the picture. Looking at it, he laughed.

“What?” I asked as I collected the phone from him. We had squinted our eyes as a result of the flash making the picture look ridiculous. I laughed too.

“Tina is going to have a good laugh. Come let's take another one.” He said and we drew closer. Just before the picture went off, he kissed me on the cheek by surprise. Then he looked at the picture.

“Hey! That wasn't planned!” I giggled.

“This is much better.” He said as he showed me the picture. It came out cute though. I looked surprised making it even cuter.

“This should be our new wallpaper, don't you think?” He asked.

“Huh? Well yes... But I don't have the picture on my phone.” I said.

“I'll send it to you after the date. For now, let's eat, I'm starving.” I nodded and sat down. He did as well and soon the chef brought a bottle of wine. It made a loud pop when opened and he poured some into our glasses.

“Let's make a toast.” He said as he picked up his.

“To what?” I asked as I held up mine too. He shrugged. “I don't know, to happiness and love.” He said and we clinked our glasses. I took a sip and dropped it.

“Thanks a lot, Darren... For all this. I won't forget it a long while.” I said.

“I hope you never do. Cause I plan to make it very special.” He said, exaggerating it with his hands.

“So, what do you have in stock?” I asked. He looked at me smirked, why does he always smirk?”

“Why don't we take it one at a time? First, let's eat and we'll find out the rest soon.”

“Okay... I'd you say so"

Dinner was amazing. We talked and laughed and laughed and talked till we both lost track of time. When I finally checked it, I was surprised at how much time had gone.

“Oh my! It's late already!” I exclaimed softly. Darren only shrugged.

“Is it? I had no idea.” He said. I looked at him skeptically. “You aren't taking me home tonight are you?” I asked. He took a sip from his champagne and pointed to the hall behind him, purposely evading the question.

“There's a dancing room behind us. It would be a shame if we didn't use it.” He said instead.

“There is? Why didn't you tell me sooner?” I asked.

“I told you I was taking it step by step. So now that you know, why don't we try it out?” He asked.

“You want us to dance? But you don't know how to.” I reminded. He smiled at him.

“Well, I can learn....” Then he stood up and walked towards me, taking me by the hand.

“Can I have this dance, milady?” He asked, he sounded like a real gentleman I melted instantly. I stood up and nodded.

“Yes please,” I answered. Removing my heels, we raced to the dancing room where he turned on the music. Thinking out loud by Ed Sheeran boomed from the speakers.

You sure know how to set the mood, Darren.” I whispered as he turned me around. Pulling me closer to himself, he whispered back.

“I want to make this special as I can, cause I don't want to forget it in a long while.” He smiled and soon we began dancing. Surprisingly, Darren wasn't a bad dancer himself and he knew the steps quite well. I smiled at the thought, and he made me fall in love with him even more. The fairytale setting of the place added more to his charm. Our bodies touched, separated and it felt we were in this force field where we couldn't get enough of each other. The song soon ended, and I was tangled up in Darren's arms. I chuckled as his breath fanned my necks.

“Didn't know you could dance,” I said as I looked down on him, he was carrying me up.

“Well, I went dancing classes myself when I was younger.” He answered.

“Really? Wow.” He said and I laughed. He giggled.

“Stop laughing. It's not funny!” He said as he tickled me. I laughed even harder, and he missed a step and we fell on the floor, laughing even more.

“You're such a jerk,” I said between gulps. He raised himself and he looked at me square in the face.

“Oh, now she insults me.” He said as he kissed the bridge of my nose.

“Why didn't you tell me earlier? “I asked him.

“Well... I guess I wanted you to find out for yourself. “He answered.

“And I guess I did.” We stayed like that for a while until I asked him.

“Hey... Since we aren't going home tonight, where are we staying for the night?”

Darren only smirks when he has something in mind, and I guess he had something in mind as he smirked this time and I sure was loving it.

“That... I also got figured out.” He said.

“You have a penthouse?” I repeated, staring at him. He looked at me and smiled.

“Yeah... Just got it, it's not too far from here.”

“Wow, Darren... I don't know what to say.”

“You don't need to say anything. Look we're almost there.” He said and I looked up. One thing for sure, it was way too big to be just a penthouse but who am I to argue?

“Don't be deceived by the size and the exquisite decorations. It's made out of recycled materials so it's pretty much affordable.”

“It is? Double wow.” I mouthed. He chuckled and tussled my hair. Electronically opening the gate, we drove in, and we parked at the garage. There I also noticed there was a car in it. Packed for a boys camp out.

We got out of the car and walked to the main entrance where he put in the house password and just like that, the door opened, and we walked in.

“Has anybody been here before?” I asked. He turned to me.

“Nope. Just you.” He said.

“Okay... I trailed off.” It was even more beautiful inside but just like Darren said, it most mostly made out of recycled and reused materials.

“So... You like it?” He asked. It was then I realized he was already close to me, staring at me intently.

“Yeah... I like it. It's pretty, what am I saying, it's beautiful.” I blubbered and he chuckled. I bent slowly and blushed, rubbing my hands together.

“Are you cold?” He asked me.

“I think so. The night's wind must have gotten to me.”

“You should have a hot bath. And if you like there's a hot tub here as well.” He said.

“there is? I think I'll just go for the hot bath instead.”

“Really?”

"Really,” I confirmed.

“Okay... See you later.” He said and kissed me on the forehead before leaving. I watched him leave, only God knows where he's going. I rubbed my hands together before walking into one of the empty rooms to go and have a bath.

I walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my body and on my hair. Surveying the room quickly, I saw no sign of Darren. I took a deep breath before walking towards the wardrobe. I didn't expect anything to be there but surprisingly I found some pajamas even though there were male ones. I smiled before putting it on before proceeding to the mirror.

I dried my hair as much as I could with the towel cause they weren't any blow dryer insight and let it fall freely on my shoulders to dry naturally. Staring at myself in the mirror, I reminisced about the date with Darren and smiled to myself. Darren is making this very special for me. Now, where is he? I stood up and went to look for him in the house.

He was at the balcony, in the hot tub, staring into the night. He looked completely breathtaking with his hair wet. I blushed even though he couldn't see it. Taking cautious quiet steps, I walked towards him and stood beside him. He didn't know I was there... Or maybe he didn't want to react just yet.

“You decided to use the hot tub?” I asked, hands in my pocket. He looked at me smiled, then swam towards me and put his face on his chin.

“Yeah, since you decided to use the bathroom.” He answered. I chuckled and wrapped my hands around myself. The night was quite cold today, I'll have to admit. I was already feeling cold.

“If you keep standing there, you'll be risking hypothermia.” He said. I looked at him and raised my brows. He chuckled in return. “Don't worry, I'll look away.” He muttered and turned.

I could go inside, where the heater was on but instead, I decided to help opposite, I pulled off the pajamas and stepped inside the hot tub. The heat flooded me immediately. Very relaxing and nerve-racking as well.

"I'm in,” I said, and he turned. His eyes raked all over my body and I could feel myself melting underneath his gaze. Then he stopped.

“Come over here.” He muttered, his voice a bit husky. I looked at him and went a bit closer. He came a bit closer as well.

“Your face, it burning up.” He muttered slowly.

“It has something to do with being this close to Darren,” I whispered back. He chuckled and continued talking.

“I got you something. I hope you like it.” He said.

“What is it?” I asked, he stared at me for a while before bringing it out. It was a necklace. A very small and beautiful one at that. I collected it from him.

“Do you like it?” He asked.

"Darren. I love it. But it looks like it's missing some parts.” I pointed out and looked at him. He smiled instead and collected the necklace from me.

"Turn around.” He said and wore it for me. It fit so perfectly. When I turned back at him, I realized why the necklace looked like it had parts missing. Because the other part was with Darren, around his neck.

“Wow.” I gushed. “It's a couple's necklace,” I said.

“Hmm mm.”

“So does that makes us a couple?” I asked. His hands cupped my face, bringing it closer to his. I held my breath as our noses brushed each other.

“Mira?”

“Hmm?”

“Would you be my girlfriend?” He asked. I smiled.

“I would love to.”

“I knew you would.” He said and pulled me apart a bit. When I looked at his eyes, it held a dozen different emotions but the one that was the most prominent was... Desire. My heart was racing a million miles per hour. Kissing me on the nose once, he rested his forehead on mine.

“You know something? I didn't want to come home before.” He whispered.

“Why?” I asked.

“I didn't like it here. But of course, I was forced to. Now that am here, I'm glad I did. I met you.” He said and I chuckled. I felt his hands leave my hair to caress my back. “Seeing and meeting you changed something in me, I would give anything to have it happen again.” He said and stared at him.

“That's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. “I replied. He stared at me for a while.

“Mira... Do you love me?” He asked.

“I've always loved you, Darren. Sincerely speaking.” I said and he smiled again. Then he kissed me. It wasn't as long as I expected but it still caused me to hold my breath. I inched closer, closing the gap between us and feeling his skin against mine. It was burning hot.

“I want all of you, Mira...” He whispered to my ears. “I want the girl and the woman.” He said nuzzled my earlobe.” I pulled apart and stared at him full in the face.

“You know..... Before coming to this date my mom said something... She said If it doesn't happen, don't force it. But if it does....”

Darren raised his brows and looked at me. “If it does?” He prodded. I chuckled and jumped on him.

Bringing my face closer to his, I whispered.

“Kiss me, Darren.....” He smirked and brought himself closer to mine.

“With pleasure....” He mouthed before our lips collided. This is going to be a long night.
