Chapter 176 CHAPTER 176

Chapter 176 CHAPTER 176
The funeral was held three days later.

Our girls' night was really just everyone sleeping, eating and crying over loved ones until Stephan came to get us.

Everything was ready.

The journey back was solemn and I held Cane all through. In fact, with how much he stayed in my arms, I already felt like his mum.

Suddenly I wasn't scared of new beginnings anymore.

I wanted to build a future with my two mates and one or two of these crying commitments isn't such a bad idea.

When we got back to the Pack, everyone was dressed in white.

I quickly changed and our Shaman led the procession towards the river.

Stephan spoke first.

"My people, both old and new, we've come to send our brothers to their second homes, the place we all would go to meet them someday. I want us that they left behind to cry a little lesser, because they didn't die a vain, easy death, they died for us. They died defending their people, their territory, the values that made them who they are. This is the most valiant way to die and they're lucky as we are to have been related to them. May Selene accept them with open arms."

"May Selene accept them with open arms," we all chorused in return.

And then it was my turn.

I began calling every name that I had felt rip out of my sides, their bond cut off forever.

Both Blood Moon and Red Moon Pack members lost in the war.

By the time I was done, tears had dried up as there was just so many names.

Over three hundred people died so Zyrell doesn't imprison us to her reign of pain.

Gradually we set their bodies ablaze on the river and watched it burn.

One thing I discovered while we were rebuilding was that Blood Moon was advanced in a scary way.

Especially in civil engineering since they were always building and advancing due to the increased population.

And this cut our time frame from the three months it required to seven weeks.

Yes, it's been seven weeks since Zyrell was killed on our land.

Roman had come the week after with some Alphas but our Pack was literally an open ground; being the theatre for war, it wasn't the best place or time to begin planning the future of the werewolf world and neither were we going to abandon rebuilding to go to the luxury of the Council Twin buildings for that either.

So this morning, after the fifth Pack house was set up, Hunter and Stephan sent a mail to five Alphas, inviting them and their allies to the meeting for the future.

It was going to hold in one week.

In the last six weeks, I haven't touched my mates beyond a kiss.

Impossible, I know and I'm shocked myself but between them actively involved in building, and me taking care of five times the usual amount of people understand my care, we all just slumped into bed at different times every night.

But with the deep breaths we all took as we stared at the giant building, I was done with it.

I needed my body touched in more ways than one.

"When are you both going to fuck me?"

"Cassie!"

"Kitten?"

"What? It's just a question."

"Their are children here," Hunter chuckled pulling my cheeks.

"My apologies my loves, let me rephrase. When are you both going to take me to a proper dinner, compliment my hair and dress and then bring me back home, eat my pussy and ass and then fuck me till I black out?"

"Selene forgive me!"

"When did you get such a potty mouth?" Stephan exclaimed.

"I just survived a war mind you."

"Oh really? And at what point did this spirit possess you?" Hunter growled in my ear, biting my earlobe.

"Hunter..."

"Hunter listen to instructions, she said dinner first. Always in a hurry."

"Sorry sorry," he raised his hand in mock surrender, laughing. "But you're right. We need a night for just us. We've been so committed to this project that we've barely had some time to breathe. We have two capable Betas who can handle the Pack for one night."

"Or two," I whispered.

"Someone is hungry," Stephan chuckled, his hand going on my butt.

"And you've forgotten there are children... Somewhere."

Hunter pulled my hand away from Stephan's chest.

"Stop encouraging him. If we don't stop, with how much we've abstained from each other, we'll definitely have sex right here. In our wolf forms, I may not mind that but I'm not into exhibitionism."

"Are you sure?" I asked with a smirk, looking him in the eye.

"I'm not! That's Ace's thing."

"Fine, you guys. Let's go start preparing. Now that the idea of sinking inside of you is in my head, I need to get busy with something else or I'll never be able to keep my hands off you."

"That's probably my heat making a comeback," I chuckled, remembering that the herbs I was taking had stopped me from having those wild things.

"You're going into heat?" Hunter asked as though I was talking about flying.

"Yes baby, I remember you haven't really experienced me in that way."

"Even now, it still won't be the same without the bond," Stephan added, "let me explain it to you. She's usually warm okay? But with the heat, she's tighter, warmer and gosh, the wetness, it's so –"

"It's okay, I've heard enough," Hunter growled, "except you want us to start now?"

"No, I completely support you running away from his foul mouth," I chuckled. "But we have to leave here, the Pack is beginning to look at us like we're crazy. And what's worse is we could have been having this conversation in our heads."

"You're the one that said that out loud," Stephan accused , "but then, it's .. not the same."

Nothing is.

But we didn't really focus on it too much.

Our bonds were fine, just disconnected, if that makes sense.

It means that my bodily function was not being screamed to my mates. I don't know when Stephan is in his head about his experience with Zyrell anymore or when Hunter is having a drawing epiphany but can't do it because he's busy with something else and is then frustrated.

And they can't feel the sadness that grows in my chest.

I'm an Alpha of a Pack now and without being with them, I felt something breaking inside me every day but there was so much to do here and I didn't want to make them feel like I was choosing.

"Let's all go get dressed," Stephan said, "we'll be down by 8. I'll go make reservations for the night."
