Killian.
I needed to talk to her father first. If I had to squeeze the man just to get my answers, I would definitely do it.
Butler Creek gave me a heads up that Draco Bathory was in an overseas business conference. That must be the reason why Yzabelle could not reach him.
Well, I could not waste a day anymore. I needed to talk to the man.
I left Yzabelle near the lake, watching the calm swan swimming. I knew she needed space to think.
I called Butler Creek to ask something again.
“Book me a flight to Italy,” I greeted the old man with that.
“You mean the place where Mr. Bathory flew for business matters?” the butler seemed to confirm.
“Yes. And arrange a meeting with him. I can’t wait for your report to finish.”
“But Master, Mr. Bathory will come back a few days from now. Maybe two or three.”
“I couldn't wait that long,” I harshly breathed.
“I understand, Master. I’ll do it, right away.”
I ended the call and watched Yzabelle. I made a promise to her just now that I wouldn't hear her thoughts and give her privacy. But I could not promise how long I could hold myself.
I was dying to know what was running in her mind.
Geez!
No one made the lycan prince promise a thing.
Until Yzabelle happened to me.

Yzabelle.
I woke up to my alarm—wait? To my alarm? I didn’t set any alarm.
I jumped out of my bed and looked for the alarm clock that was put on the bookshelves.
I had to walk towards it and turn it off, to cut the noise that was irritating the hell out of my sleepy head.
Damn! Who else would set the alarm and put it here? No other than Killian.
That brute. He even put it here in the bookshelves and not on the bedside table. Surely, it was for me to completely wake up after walking a few meters.
Argh! It was Sunday! Why did he have to set an alarm?
I saw the note under the alarm clock.
I’LL BE AWAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, MAYBE TWO. I EXPECT YOU NOT TO GO ANYWHERE ASIDE FROM SCHOOL AND KATE’S DORM WHILE I WASN’T AROUND. UNDERSTAND?—K.
Ugh! The note sounded as domineering and arrogant as the writer himself.
P.S. I MADE YOUR BREAKFAST. DON’T GO BACK TO SLEEP OR THE FOOD WILL GETS COLD. YOU CAN SLEEP AGAIN AFTER EATING.
My eyebrow flinched yet, I smiled. It was actually preposterous to find a top rich heir who knew how to cook and clean the house. Killian was the first for me.
“His parents taught him well,” I whispered as I read the note.
I put it back and got out of my bedroom. There, above the center island was the covered food. I opened it and saw the fried rice, beef tapa and hot chicken soup.
I could only smile as I dug in. Since I lived in his house, I surely get a heavy breakfast everyday. I was starting to worry that I might get fat after a few months.
Uh, no.
Killian made sure I had a balanced diet. He made sure I had meat and veggies and enough carbs. That must be why he had this sturdy build. Because of his proper diet.
As I ate, I started to think about where he went. Why did he need to be away for days? Is that something important that he risked on leaving me?
I shook my head, chuckling on my own.
“Risked leaving me, huh? What are you thinking, Yzabelle?” I mocked myself.
But hey, that was what seemed to be the situation. Since the time I met him, he seemed like he didn't want to keep his eyes away from me.
And when I met Corbin, I could feel that he doubled his security on watching over me.
That was why I got curious why he left when he knew Corbin was inviting me to his hometown.
Whatever he was doing right now, it must be very important.
Upon remembering the note, I smiled. I seemed to hear his voice when I recollected about the content of his note. I could even imagine how he clenched his jaw, giving me warning not to mess with him.
Gosh! How I wished I could grin mischievously in front of him and expect him to be more irritable.
Ugh! I missed him already!
What?!
I already missed him?
Didn’t we spend the whole day yesterday? He let me take my time as I cleared my thoughts. And when he thought I was good for a walk, that was the only time he invited me. He even put his scarf on me when he saw that I was chilling.
You see, he was thoughtful despite the unpretty attitudes he used to show me.
We’d been living in the same apartment and the only time I was away with him was when we were going back to our respective bedrooms. It wasn’t that long for me to miss him this much. But I did!
Gosh! What’s wrong with me?
I finished my breakfast and washed the dishes.
I tried to clean the place though it was already squeaky clean. I just wanted to do something that would kill my time. I couldn’t endure the boredom of not seeing him. Every corner of this place reminded me of him and it only made me miss him even more.
My inner self was groaning inside, looking for the guy who I was used to being with.
“Damn! I’ll be crazy if I stay here for another minute. I should take a walk outside and do something to ease this longing feeling,” I sighed as I surrendered to the needy side of me.
I quickly changed my outfit for a casual walk outside, and continued leaving the place. As I closed the door, I unconsciously glanced at the door across me.
That was my apartment that hadn’t been repaired until now.
I was torn between calling the management or just leaving it like that. They would probably fix it if the materials came. Maybe the shipping took a long while, that's why.
I couldn’t blame them though.
Gaslighting myself, wasn't I?
No. I didn't want to accept it.
I shook away the thoughts and walked towards the elevator. There were a few tenants who I came across and rode with me. That was a good thing—a distraction that I need so I wouldn’t have to think of him, every minute, every second.
I was walking across the lobby while thinking about the place I should go.
Should I call Kate to fill me? I’d invite her for a coffee or shop with me since Killian and I didn't make it yesterday.
That’s a better idea. I was about to get my phone from my sling bag, when someone caught my attention.
Was that Corbin, walking across me?
