Killian:
‘There was no way I was going to let him run away.’ I told Aldi through a mind-link.
After I heard from Aldi that Ronnie had fled, I quickly left to find the traitor. I traced his scent. After the poison had worn off, my senses seemed to work double time. I could feel it.
It didn’t take long for me to find Seer Ronnie. He was in the middle of the wild forest when I caught him.
I grabbed him by his neck and sent him flying. I didn’t stop or even give him a chance to fight.
We fought hard until he could no longer counter.
I pinned him on the ground, aiming to rip him to pieces.
“How could you do that?!” I gritted in anger.
Ronnie didn’t answer. He just let me beat the daylights on him.
“Answer me, you traitor!” I growled.
He still wasn’t answering, but his smug face said it all. He didn’t feel any remorse for what he did.
“Speak!” I heard Yzabelle’s powerful, commanding voice from behind me.
I turned to her and was about to scold her about why she followed me, but then I heard Ronnie speak as if he was in a trance.
“Because I was supposed to be the Lycan King if only the previous king didn’t reject my mother! I deserved the throne!” Ronnie sputtered. “I deserved to be a king! And it was time to claim what is mine!”
“Claim what is yours?” I spit out. “Then why were you running away?”
“Because I knew I couldn’t. I will just let you celebrate and attack again when the time is right.” He answered, his eyes widened. It seemed he didn’t want to say it, but he was forced to do so, or he was compelled.
I turned to Yzabelle and I was right. Her glowing green eyes showed it all. She was able to force Ronnie to speak up. A lycan could never be commanded by other lycans unless it was the king. But Yzabelle was able to do it. And I was completely astounded.
How could she do that? Well, Milley was no doubt a lycan. And I was glad my attempt to upgrade and awaken her animal was a success. But I never thought she would turn out to be this powerful. Was this the thing Draco mentioned to her before? I remembered Draco said Yzabelle was the vampire king’s nightmare.
That meant Yzabelle had a power beyond imagination.
“I will get my rightful place at the rightful time,” Ronnie’s words pulled me back.
I gritted in anger when I heard that.
“You will never be the king, Uncle Ronnie.” I scowled. “Because you didn’t have the qualifications. I don’t think the late Lycan King Alpha was wrong in rejecting your Mom. He made the right decision.”
I stood up and let him go.
“I will not kill you for the sake of being a family. You should be grateful you will be able to leave. But I’ll make sure the King will know everything you did. You will vanish from the pack. We can’t afford to live with a traitor like you. You’re a disgrace.”
I turned to Yzabelle and signaled her to cut the trance. And she did. Ronnie didn’t say anything anymore. I hope he was able to reflect on his actions and his greediness.
We were about to leave when I felt Ronnie stepping towards me. I quickly turned to counter his attack. And before I could break his neck, he was consumed with fire. When I turned around, I saw my mate’s eyes were like thunder, striking Ronnie’s body.
“It’s over. I took the liberty to do it. I know it will be hard for you since he is still your uncle. I hope you did not resent me, your highness,” she explained.
I was flabbergasted once more. My mate was really something.
“You’re scary. I should be more careful, or I will end up getting grilled.”
I earned a bubble of laughter from her. I could not take it anymore. I quickly grabbed her and claimed her mouth with a burning kiss. I’d been holding myself since the moment she stood in front of me. I could no longer hold it.
