Chapter 41 - Are you Sure?
Catherine's POV
I woke to the smell of coffee and bacon. Dad and Father were sitting with a full breakfast of fruits, bacon, waffles, eggs, and sausages. I sat down with them as Kayden walked in and sat down, too. I was confused about why he was here. I looked between all three, waiting for one of them to break the silence. "Fine. How are things going with Darrien?" Kayden said with a huff. It was clear my Dad and Father did not want to ask.
"Well, as you are aware, I love Zeus with my full heart. As for Darrien, I understand that he was manipulated to sleep with Jackie. If I do go back, I will not do so easily. I have discussed that I will be equal and will not be treated as a party planner or house manager. I will not give up on my company, and our pack has to upgrade a lot. Jackie will not be allowed on our pack lands ever. I will not be mated to him unless he can show me that he has changed. I will not be his wife until I am made sure that he shows his respect for me and my life. I have told him that I will not be in our relationship for him but for me and us. I will not lose myself again. I told him that it was toxic. We are to be meeting at lunch to discuss raising the pups."
"So you have thought about returning. Have you thought about what would happen if he does violate your trust?" Kayden asked with concern as well Dad looked like he wanted to cry and father wanted to fight.
"I want to let him try. I have told him that if he does hurt me or makes me feel useless, then I am gone. I know that you need to pick your beta, but I still have my mate bond with him because Zeus was not there when the rejection took place." I tried to convey that I did think it, though.
"I only have to decide on a Beta when Derick and Donald step down. I also wanted to let you know I met my mate. She is an omega to the pack Blue Claw. She is also aware of the pack and their dealings. She will be running to your old pack. Do you think you can talk with Darrien to allow her passage? I met her by chance at the mall she was with the Alpha. Also, is there someone there you trust for abuse? I do not think she likes male wolves." Kayden said with his head hung low.
"You bet your sweet ass. I will get Darrien to agree, and I will have a trusted therapist to meet her and take care of her until we can get her." I said with anger in my voice. I hate it when the Alpha treats lower wolves in any class like shit. Abuse of any care is not allowed.
"Thank you, Catherine. Her name is Bella. She is 5'5", jet black hair about medium length, Slim-like bony, brown eyes that seem haunted, and she has a lot of scars. Please let the therapist know that there is sexual assault, too. I also wanted to let you know that I believe you have a strength in you that is amazing. Being able to handle the betrayal pains was unbearable, but at least I know that she doesn't want it." Kayden was tearing up. Father grabbed the leftover plates and cleaned up as we talked.
"Kayden, how do you know all this?" I was worried that he might be played with.
"She went to the washroom, and I cornered her. I had to let her go because she wore an electric silver collar. She gets 1 day a month to clean the area. Please speak to Darrien." My Dad went over to hold him as he broke down crying.
"When?" Not that I want to make it longer than I have to.
"Three weeks from now." he crooked out.
"I will get it done even if Darrien does not want to. I will get help from Aiden. We will get your mate in three weeks." With determination.
"How? You are due in 2 weeks?" My dad asks with concern about my health and my pups.
"That's why I will get Aiden's help. He is like me with powers. Oh shoot, we have to go I am meeting Zeus." confident in my plan. I got up and walked out of the room after saying goodbye and kisses on their cheeks.
I walked to the training field, waiting for Zeus. Minutes later, I felt his cold nose against the back of my arm. "Hey, Baby. Come sit with me. I want to show you my power, but can you shift so I can hear you?" I listen to pop and snap.
"My dear mate. I am naked are you trying to hint at something?" Cheeky wolf. I looked at Darrien's face, and I raised my hand and placed it on his chest, feeling the warmth.
"Look here, cheeky. You have coverage now." he looks down at the leaves covering his manhood like a loincloth.
"Wow, You have the power of plants." He kissed my cheek.
"That's not all. Is Darrien watching?" he nodded. "Okay. If Darrien ever hurts, forgets me, or ignores me, I will use my powers on you. Now, go into the field and do not move. If you do, you will get hurt." He walked out to the field.
"I am all yours, my lovely. I will not move." Zeus said with his chest puffy out.
I flicked my finger, and a ring of fire appeared around Zeus. His eyes widen, and I lift my hand, lifting him into the air. "Wow, Princess, this is amazing." He watched me with so much love and surprise. With my other hand, I closed my hand, causing rain to fall and ending the flames. I lower my other hand, letting Zeus to the ground. He was able to move, and I snapped my fingers, causing a lightning bolt to shoot out, almost hinting at his foot.
"Do not move unless I say, " he said, shock written all over his face. Give me Darrien, and he will answer some questions. Then you will join me later." He closed his eyes.
"Holy shit. Catherine, that is amazing." He said. I lifted my hand and lifted him, pulled him close to me, and sat him on the bench.
"There is an issue that has happened to the pack next to yours. Kayden's mate is in Blue Claw and is being abused badly. We have three weeks for a chance for her escape. Will you allow her refugee in your pack?"
"Catherine, I will. Will you help me give her safety with your powers? We can offer her the best safety than a room in the pack house."
"I will try, but I am due in two weeks, so I may have pups. I will ask Aiden to join me, as his powers may be more useful than mine. Also, do you and Zeus want to join me for my prenatal check-up?"
"Are you sure you want me to join you at your appointment?" Darrien asked, worried that he may cross a line. I handed him my shorts in a bag.
