Chapter 12 Embrace yourself
At night, Ezra stands on his balcony.
And Esperanza's face was roaming in his eyes.
"Why can't I take off my mind," he sipped from a chalice.
"This cannot be.....," he closed his eyes and tried to forget her.
"But why can't it be? She can be mine. I never saw someone ultimately captivating," He was gasping so loudly.
"This will be out of the rules," He was trying to console himself, but what can one do if the heart has fallen on someone?
"Esperanza........ Esperanza......," he was whispering her name and her enchanting features were smacking in his mind.
"No one ever married a human mate; they bring them and treat them like their personal trash, but no one ever married them." Millions of questions were roaming in his mind.
"This is not paying, they are living too, and they are not animals, we look like them, not they look like us or have powers like us," Ezra was talking to the moon.
"How much pain they have been enduring, how she survived all this," He punched the wall hard,
"If I knew her before she would never be treated like this,"
"How delicate she was, her body, her appearance, everything, how she is living that harsh life, without me," he let out and smirked.
" Oh! King Ezra holds here, this is destiny, if destiny never wanted it would never let us meet,"
"This is the sign, maybe she is the right person for me,"
"And before anyone could steal her I should protect her,"
"My heart never palpitated this way, she is the one, different from everyone, sometimes decisions are hard but you also need to live for yourself sometimes,"
Ezra had just become the king, and he never experienced the sacrifices that a king has to make for his nation and people, even though he did not know the meaning of them.
This is his first time falling in love, but that love was for a human, an unwanted and ungraceful relationship.
No matter how beautiful or how mesmerizing a human is, it will always be considered filthy and lower.
Always a plaything for dragons, whom they treated worse than animals.
Whoever was embraced by a dragon was murdered and was never seen again.
Humans are scared of dragons, they never let them see themselves because of hatred.
This hatred was because of lookalikeness.
Dragons know that their real appearance is frantic and not easy to carry out. It was the gratefulness of the Golden Dragon that he approved their appeal and relished the magic of the dragon, which made their appearance agreeable and pleasant.
Thousands of years ago, there was great chaos because of their extension and enormity.
Every dragon wanted to be king over other dragons and species and make the world spin around them.
And all everyone could see was war and chaos.
At that time, a most sensible dragon, the dragon of son and moon, endowed his life to find the golden dragon, the god of all dragons.
And with the greatest sacrifice, he found his temple where the light of the golden dragon was still alive, and with great faith, he prayed to that golden dragon, and after seeing his sacrifices, the golden dragon approved his sentiment.
But he told him that he could make them look like one of the animals; the choice was in his hands.
So the dragon chose to look like the humans. For that reason, they seem to be most prepossessing at that time.
And the golden dragon grants them, but they get to experience the great pain while transforming into their dragon state. After that, the chaos did not stop, and again they started to get filthy against humans.
Ezra gasped and lay on his bed, he determined the thing in his mind, and now he will do what he wants.
Esperanza was sleeping when she opened her eyes in her dream, which was the dark temple, she looked around but found no one but a wide hall where she was standing, and before her, there was a door ok that door, there was a picture of a dragon, the room was dark but there was a light that she could see the things.
She felt that door close and felt familiar.
She moved closer as she voted to hypnotize.
That picture was calling her as she moved her hand forward; she felt a golden light come from her hand, and the door also glowed lustrously.
Suddenly, the door twitched, and it started opening. Her eyes were glistening with the glow, which was the golden light coming from her body and the door.
She was scared, but she wanted to know her truth.
"Esperanza.......," a voice came from behind, and her heart started pounding.
The door opened, and she saw a huge golden Dragon sitting in its glorious aura, closing its eyes. Her eyes widened, and her heart started racing, not like an ordinary human.
"Embrace yourself.....," that voice came from the golden dragon and she got petrified, she screamed in her dream, and suddenly she got thrown out of the door and the light faded,
Everything vanished and she kept sleeping where she was.
The morning came and her mother knocked on her door.
"Esperanza?.....," She let out, and Esperanza opened her eyes. She slept on the side of the bed while sitting.
"Yes, Mother is coming....," She wiped her face with her clothes and opened the door.
"Is that not a dream," she asked her mother.
"Oh, my child, that was not. Last night was horrible," her mother let out with a gasp.
"As you know, we need to get things done," Esperanza's mother said and she frowned.
"What things?" She asked.
"For your wedding, you and Caspian are getting married in two days," she said, and Esperanza remembered.
She nodded and looked down.
"Our little flower has grown up so fast and now it's time to say goodbye, but do not worry this is your home forever,"
"You can come here whenever you want," her mother said.
" If Caspian let me," Esperanza said.
She remembered the incident of her dream last night and was calm. She was staring at her mother's face, and suddenly she stood in front of the mirror.
"For the first time in her life," she predicted that there were no similarities with her mother.
"This cannot be," she let out while touching her face.
"What happened?" She placed her hand on Esperanza's hand.
"My face, my skin, everything does not match with you," she said and her mother's eyes widened.
"What are you talking about?" She looked disappointed.
"Come stand here," Esperanza says, making her stand with her.
"Why is that mother?" She asked, and her mother gave her a perplexed reaction.
" My daughter, you do not look like us, because you look like your great, great-grandma." Her mother tried to cover.
"But everyone looks like their parents, everyone's mother.....," she was stuck with the same thing.
"Am I your real child?" She asked an appalled question about her mother's entire life.
" What are you talking about?" Suddenly her heart started to beat extremely fast, and her eyes looked blank.
"No, my daughter, you are mine, my daughter," she let out and grabbed her hair behind her head and placed her hand there.
"Do not doubt, you will always be mine," Her mother said.
"Your own blood?" Esperanza wanted to get to the end of the loop of the thing.
" Yes.......," with a cracking voice, her mother replied.
"You... are my blood," she replied, and Esperanza hugged her tight.
"Yes..... You are my mother," she gasped and hugged her tighter.
Where is father? Esperanza asked.
Your father is here at home, he is slightly injured, she said.
So.... I should go and do my day-to-day work, Esperanza smiled.
Her mother caressed her chin and nodded.
Yes, you go, she let out, and Esperanza went to take a bath and changed her clothes into a pure white gown.
Ezra woke up really early in the morning and he was wearing a silk chiton and slacks.
Rise and shine, my king. Raymond entered and bowed at him.
What are you thinking about? Raymond predicted his profoundness.
I do not know, but I cannot stop that, Ezra replied.
My lord, she is a human, Raymond said.
Can we not marry a human? And why? Ezra asked.
You have just seen her, not even talked to her, why are you making these big decisions? Raymond asked.
I do not know why. This is shocking to me as well. Ezra reciprocated.
The whole night I just dreamed of her, Ezra said.
