Chapter 95 True purpose

Chapter 95 True purpose

“You brought us here to look at some old tree?” Ethan asked slightly annoyed. Though I don't blame him, it's getting dark and as much as he'll love to get into trouble it won't be fun if we got lost.

After we got back to camp earlier on Maya happily narrated about our little trip to the boys though her center of attention was on Oaky. We didn't know where she was going with it instead she said she'll show us. Which leads us right back to the berry thicket.

“Not just any old tree, it's Oaky remember?” Maya said as she adjust the little bag she hung on her neck that she insisted on coming with. She was so excited and I didn't know why.

“Yh Oaky, the big old oak tree you guys scribbled on when you were kids, so what?” Ethan asked hoping she'll get to the point.

“Well, I was wondering if we could put our initials and palm print on it as a reminder of this night, so that many years in the future we can come back or even show it to our kids” she squealed.

Oh I get it now, that's not actually a bad idea though. “Thats if the tree well live that long, I can't believe I was dragged out of my comfortable tent for this.” Ethan muttered.

“Oh c'mon Ethan it'll be fun, so Maya how do we do this?” Charlotte asked excitingly.

“Well there's a creek nearby, well just go there cover our hands in mud then place it on the tree and voila a long lasting memory.” “Ok then let's do this” Klaus said as he dragged me to where the creek is.

“Hey, stop pulling me it's not like you know where the creek is.” I challenged as I turned around to face him.

“Well technically I don't, I'm just following the sound of running water.” He said as he took my hand in his but this time more gently. We arrived at the creek soon enough.

“We’re here people ok get a move on we're losing sunlight. Find a patch of mud and dip your palm in it.” Maya said as she squat on the ground and shoved her right hand in mud.

We were all set and went back hurriedly to the tree. “On the count of 3 let's all put our hands on the tree.” Charlotte said right before I placed my hands.

“1…2…3” we all placed our hands and left it there for three minutes before peelings our hands slowly to inspect our work.

“Wow, it actually turned out really great if only there was a way to capture this moment” Klaus said with a sigh.

“There is and I think it's called a picture” Ethan said matter of factly.

“Lucky for you guys I brought a…camera” Maya said as she brought our the device from the small bag. So that's what was in it.

“Guys get close I want to take a picture” she said as she positioned the camera.

“Maya, are you sure you know how to use it?” Klaus asked. “Of course I do” she retorted “Tgen why is it upside down” he said between fits of laughter. She didn't reply she just turned it the right way “Say cheeseeee” she said as she snapped frantically.

“Hey girl would you chill at least let us see what you have taken so far I swear the flash is going to blind my eyes with how fast you're taking the pictures.” Ethan complained as he rubbed his eyes.

“Yh Maya let us see” I said as I walked over to her side.

“Um why am I a blur in most of the pictures” Charlotte said as we swiped through the pictures.

“At least your eyes isn't all white like some possessed demon” Ethan said like as if he was going to cry any minute.

“I’m not even in any of the pictures.” Klaus said as he glared at Maya.

“That’s not true, your hand and your right leg showed in this one” Maya said pointing at the picture like it makes it any better.

Honestly the pictures were terrible but I can't blame her it's probably her first time using a camera and honestly I don't think I could've done any better.

“Tessa do you have something to complain about since everybody is complaining now I'll like to see any of you do better.” she said as she took of the camera and held it out to me I shoved it to Ethan he looked away and shoved it to Charlotte.

“Taking pictures on a phone that I can do, camera not so well.” she said as she shoved it to Klaus. He stared at it for a while before fumbling with it and adjusting some settings. It was almost seven and the sun would soon set.

“Get together everyone” he said as he took some sort of stance.

“Wait aren't you going to be in the picture too.” I asked him

“You didn't care when I took the picture earlier, how bias” Maya muttered. I hugged her arm and swayed it back and forth to appease her.

“I have an idea” he said as he lifted the camera like as if he was going to take a selfie then urged us all to get behind him so we'll all fit into the frame.

He took countless pictures from numerous angles and kept asking us to pose like we were in some kind of shoot. The pictures were amazing as expected from my perfect boyfriend. What can't he do.

We walked back to the creek to wash the mud off our hands and as our luck would have it, the sun was about to set. We quickly washed our hands then Klaus suggested we take a group picture with the sunset.

He positioned us and took several pictures. We didn't have time to see it afterwards the sun had set and everywhere was dark. We headed back to the tents…there were 2 tents set up.

“Good night boys.” Charlotte said as she pulled me and Maya towards one of the tents.

“Where do you think you're taking her?” Klaus asked as he grabbed my other arm. “She’s staying with me”
“She can't stay with you, where would Ethan sleep?” Maya asked ”Where is Ethan anyways?“
“Over there almost like he is exactly 10 feet from us or I'm seeing things.” I said. Ethan was with a duffle bag and as soon as he unzipped it a tent sprung out. How cool.

“Hey Ethan what's with the tent.” “Don't ask Tessa obviously that stuck up snob doesn't want us near him” Klaus said as he glared at the approaching Ethan .
“You didn't think I'll share a tent with that guy did you?” Ethan said in disgust. I swear this two are twins.
“Its settled then, good night!” Maya and Charlotte shrugged and went into their tent. He pulled me into the other tent and made me lie in front of him so he could cuddle me from behind. “Good night potatoes” “Good night over possessive man child” I giggled.
