Chapter 1692 Happy Times (2)

"Either is fine. Have you eaten? You weren't waiting outside for me this whole time, were you?"

In the end, Adrian was carrying quite a few snacks. "Want a milk coffee?"

"Yeah."

There was a long line at the milk coffee shop. He held her hand with one hand and carried the food with the other, waiting over ten minutes before buying the milk coffee. Natalie held it in her hands, her palms warm. "Why did you only buy one cup?" She handed the milk coffee to him. "Try it."

Adrian didn't really like these sweet drinks, but since Natalie offered it, he lowered his head and took a sip. The milk coffee was ordered to Natalie's taste—half sugar with taro paste. It tasted okay. "If you like it, we can buy another cup."

"One is enough. Drinking too many high-calorie things at night will make me gain weight." She raised her hand to touch her chin. "My face has gotten rounder."

Adrian looked at the woman's cheeks—they had indeed filled out quite a bit. But the woman was naturally slender and thin to begin with. Even now with what she called being "fat," she was just at a normal weight. Adrian placed his hand on her waist. "You're not fat, just right."

"I'm clearly fatter, and you're still trying to make me feel better."

"Not fat at all. I can lift you up with one hand."

Natalie didn't believe it. "Really?"

Adrian held various snacks in his left hand, wrapped his other hand around the woman's waist and lifted with a little force. Natalie felt a bit shy. This was on the street with so many people watching. She quickly patted his arm, her face red. "Put me down now."

She heard Adrian's deep laughter.

Only then did Natalie realize she'd been teased.

The snack street after New Year's was still packed with people. The bustling surroundings were filled with warmth and the atmosphere of everyday life.

She placed her hand in the crook of Adrian's arm and strolled down the snack street. Her mood became cheerful, as if any unhappy things could be left behind.

Being with the person you love deeply—this must be what happiness means.

After New Year's, Natalie started taking a break, having Beatrix turn down all activities.

She occasionally met up with a few friends.

She often went to Elysian Fields Nightclub.

She had asked Melody to look after Bella more. Melody naturally knew that Bella was one of Natalie's best friends, so she didn't dare slack off. But she hadn't told Natalie about Bella and Nicholas meeting here. Having promised Bella to keep it from Natalie, Melody felt somewhat guilty toward Natalie, especially since Natalie trusted her so much.

And Nicholas was a regular here, even a VIP customer.

Natalie was sitting in Melody's office chatting with Melody when there was a knock on the door. Then a woman in a server's uniform walked in, looking anxious. "Miss Xu, something's wrong. There's a fight in private room 8015."

Natalie frowned slightly.

Elysian Fields Nightclub had its rules.

Troublemakers weren't welcome here.

No matter how powerful their family background, anyone who caused trouble here would be blacklisted without exception.

This was a rule Natalie had established after taking over Imperial Nightclub.

Elysian Fields Nightclub had been following it too. Over the past year, there had been very few fighting incidents.

Melody said, "Who's the client in that room? Take me there."

"It's Mr. Grimaldi."

Melody gave a cold laugh. "I don't care who it is. This place has its rules."

The server said, "He got drunk and touched Cordelia. It wasn't really a big deal, but Cordelia called security, and then things got out of hand in the room."
