Chapter 1691: Happy Times (1)
After that, Bella often ran into Nicholas at Elysian Fields Nightclub.
She'd see him surrounded by all kinds of women.
During this week, she spotted Nicholas several times in the private rooms, with different young, beautiful women cuddling up to him.
Everyone said he was very generous with tips and gentle with women.
Bella sneered.
He wasn't gentle with women at all.
Every time, she was in pain.
However, she never ran into Apollo again.
She overheard some employees chatting and saying that Apollo seemed to have offended someone and got beaten so badly that four of his ribs were broken, both his hands were fractured, and he was now lying in the hospital.
Bella felt like karma had finally caught up with him and given her some justice.
And Cherry was also free from Caelum's threats.
She heard that Caelum had actually gone to Cherry to apologize.
With what happened to Apollo, these rich boys like Caelum had learned their lesson and wouldn't dare mess around anymore.
That afternoon, Bella checked the time and told the supervisor, "I'm clocking out early. Call me if anything comes up."
"Okay."
Bella arrived at the restaurant she had reserved.
Today was the day Natalie's movie Long Road Ahead hit 1.5 billion at the box office—15 days after release, breaking 1.5 billion.
For Natalie's first film, this was a perfect start.
Natalie had invited a few old friends to celebrate with drinks.
Anouk, Bella, and Heather all came.
There was a four-person table by the window in the second-floor private dining area.
Heather had been dealing with a lot lately. Her face showed fatigue, but she wore a smile of genuine blessing.
She had watched Natalie work her way up step by step.
The four of them raised their glasses together.
Natalie took a sip of juice.
Late into the night, Natalie sat in the car.
When she came out today, the family driver had brought her, and during dinner, he waited outside.
Natalie rubbed her temples. Maybe because of the pregnancy, she felt a bit tired.
So she didn't notice the change in the driver.
"Lloyd, let's go home."
Her eyes glanced at the seat beside her, where a bouquet of roses lay.
Natalie picked them up. "Lloyd, who bought these flowers?"
"I bought them..." The driver's voice was husky and gentle.
Natalie froze. This voice was etched into her bones.
"Honey, it's you." She carefully turned her head to look at the driver's profile.
She recognized Adrian at a glance.
"Yeah, I've been waiting downstairs for you for two hours."
"Mr. Howard working as a driver—should I pay you a salary?" Natalie said as she opened her bag, pulled out a card, and said, "Spend as much as you want."
"Thank you, Ms. Teeger. Ms. Teeger, please sit tight. We're about to drive. Where would Ms. Teeger like to go?" Adrian smiled as he fastened his seatbelt and turned to look at her.
Natalie gave him an address.
She hadn't been drinking, but her friends in the private room had, so she inevitably picked up a bit of the alcohol smell.
She wanted to get some fresh air and take a walk.
Adrian parked the car in a parking area by the road.
The night market was brightly lit right now.
The vendors were all open for business.
Natalie hadn't been here since getting pregnant—actually, she hadn't been here in half a year. It was winter now, freezing cold. So Natalie, bundled up tightly with a mask and hat, didn't look out of place. All along the way, the rich aroma of various street foods filled the air. Although Natalie had eaten something with friends earlier in the evening, smelling the food now made her a bit hungry. Adrian held her hand. "What do you want to eat?"
