Chapter 64

This is the actual chapter 64, the other is at my editors desk to be changed, This chapter is not the end of the story yet either.

Love ya all. Lori Ameling

Seconds, Tick Tock

The time was near. She was almost giddy with excitement. Soon, she would have a new body and a new kingdom. All will come to pay her homage and fear her wrath.

She could hear the clock begin to strike; moving from her hiding place in the Dark Hall, she made her way to the body she would take as her own.

She was halfway across the garden when she felt a terrible pain in her legs, she looked down, and there they were, the shadows of hell attaching to her soul.

No! this can’t be happening. She looked through the windows to see Willow holding the Dagger of Oria high in the air. NO! where did she get that? NO! NO! NO!

When she realized that her plans had come to an end, she let out a wail of pain as the shadows engulfed her spirit, and she was taken through the gaping dark portal to take her place in Hell.

The long-standing curse broke with a loud snap and was no more.

***********************

Noah fell to the floor amid a symphony of yells and screams, mainly Daisy’s.

It was a sound no one wanted to hear; Willow stood shocked for a split second, and then she moved to where Michael was standing.

“Can you save him?”

“I don’t know; it is something that I have never heard of being done; he is a shifter. Even if I turn him, he might lose his Tiger, which might not be a good idea; he could go insane. Even if Daisy can hold her to him.”

Enid held Clara to her. She looked down at the baby and was amazed she was just fine and asleep.

Daisy was on the floor next to Noah, screaming his name repeatedly, covered in his blood. At this time, a high-pitched scream could be heard above all else and shook the walls.

Willow knew that it was over. The curse was broken as she heard her sister’s cries as her soul was being dragged into hell.

*************************

Michael was pissed at Noah for ruining the plans. At the same time, he would have done the same thing. He took Noah from Daisy’s arms as she screamed at him in protest. Enid stepped in and held Daisy to get her to calm down.

Garret helped him lay Noah on the bed in the King’s Chambers; He looked down at the fool covered in blood. At the same time, he was proud of him, too; what better gift could his daughter have than a mate that would protect her with his life.

Garret locked the door and came back to stand next to Michael.

“We are running out of time; I have never heard of it being done on a shifter. I am willing to help, though; I will supply the blood you will need to turn him.”

Neither said another thing as Michael King of the Vampires bit down deep into his son-in-law’s neck. The blood was still an average temperature because his tiger was frantically doing all it could to hold Noah to this realm. It was a losing battle, but if Michael was fast enough to halt the soul, they could save Noah; he just hoped they could save Raja.

***************************

Raja was lying in a golden field. He looked up, and there were bright stars above him; they started to move and became the shape of a woman.

He knew who it was before she even touched her feet to the ground; it was the goddess of the moon. She came up to where he lay and smiled and touched his ears. He wanted to jump up and pay her respect, but he was too tired to move.

“It is alright, do not move on my behalf, my warrior; I can not help you; I am here to take you to where you can get help for yourself and your human.”

She picked him up as if he weighed nothing; he was astonished. She was so delicate and small and yet had so much strength; she was getting blood all over her beautiful white dress, and she acted like it was nothing.

She walked to the edge of a cliff and then walked; Raja looked around and walked in the stars. He felt himself getting tired again. Despite all the wonder around him, He fell back into the darkness while he was in the arms of the Goddess.

When he woke up again, he was back in the golden field again, the air had an almost rainbow look to it when the sun hit it, and though there was sunshine, there were also stars in the sky.

He stood up, feeling full of life again, and looked around for the Goddess to see if she was still with him. He found her sitting next to a shining lake. It looked like it was made of silver glass, but it was moving, and stars reflected on the surface; it was something Raja couldn’t keep his eyes on for too long.

Sitting down next to the Goddess of the Moon, he was silent for a little while, enjoying this place’s feel, the sense of a home.

His heart had an ache to it, though, and he knew that it was for the first time since he was aware he was without Noah. He did not know if his soul friend was alive or dead.

“He is alive.”

Raja looked at the Goddess. She was smiling back at him.

“He lives, Raja. At first, he would be a Vampire. The King saved him the only way he knew how. I had other plans. Well, myself and the great creator. Without the great creator’s help, I could have done nothing.”

“Yes, that is where I carried you to see the son of the Creator so I could gain an audience to plead your case.”

Raja was amazed she answered his questions before he could even form them to ask.

“The Great Creator decided that it was best if you and Noah continue as you were meant to be. So come sunrise Noah will awaken with you at his side, as it should be.”

She giggled then it was a beautiful sound.

“You do not know who the Great Creator is?”

“I believe you know him as the Almighty God. The trinity, his son Jesus Christ.”

Raja felt like an idiot. Of course, he knew who that was.

She laughed again.

“Of course, you are important to him; all of his creations are important. Including myself.”

“Yes, there is a lot more than you can understand, but there will come a time when you come home for good, and all will be explained, and you will have complete understanding.”

That was the last thing Raja remembered before he fell happy and contented into sleep.

*************************

Daisy was beside herself in grief; there was a gaping dark hole where her heart used to be, she wanted it to all end, but then she remembered her children and knew she had to live for them.

She was exhausted and fell into a deep sleep as Enid put the little ones to bed. Enid looked at the door across the hall and wondered what was happening. Were they able to save Noah? Could they save Noah? It was supposed to be either Daisy or herself.

Now it was all up in the air; Baba Yaga Willow was doing something odd; she never thought she would see such an ancient and powerful being sitting by a fire knitting what looked like a baby blanket.

When Willow noticed that she was looking at her, Willow patted the chair next to her for Enid to join her.

Enid sat down, looking into the fire full of worry and hope. Not sure which one she should cling to.

“It will be alright; I can feel it. So, stop fretting and help me with this yarn. Enid picked up a skein of yarn and began to make it to a ball.”

“I don’t mean any disrespect to you Baba Yaga, but I never imagined that someone of your stature and power would be sitting in front of a fire knitting baby blankets.”

She smiled and gave a little laugh.

“Yes, I know the big scary Baba Yaga knitting, I have lived a long time, and it would get rather boring if I didn’t pick up a hobby or two, don’t you think? I don’t sit around my fire conjuring up all kinds of things all the time.”

“I love Knitting. It calms down the soul and creates beautiful items as gifts that I can give away. There is going to be a baby shower, isn’t there?”

“I guess it depends on how all this turns out. But if everything goes well, yes. I will have to plan a big baby shower for everyone who will want to attend.”

“I will also plan a smaller one for the family and close friends.”

“I will attend both and for different reasons.”

She gave a wicked smile after saying that. Enid didn’t feel any evil coming from the comment, so she wasn’t worried about Baba Yaga’s planning.

Things went quiet again, and just as Enid was about to doze off, she heard the King’s room door open, and Garret and Michael stood, both looking pale and worn.

Enid ran to them and hugged Garret to her.

“Did you save him? Please tell me you saved him?”

“Yes, we saved him, and then we lost him, and then he saved himself, or maybe it was his tiger. I don’t know. He is asleep right now, but he lives.”

Daisy ran past them and into the bedroom, she crawled up to Noah, who didn’t wake up, but he put his arm around her as she snuggled up to him.

Everyone smiled in relief.

“Come on, you two, let us get you something to drink to get you back in health again, and I will go to the fridge and see what I can do with all the leftovers.

*******************************

Sunrise the following day

Noah woke to the feel of something warm in his arms and the sun on his face. Was he alive? Then he heard that all familiar scoff Raja gave him when he said something stupid.

“Of course, you’re alive, you idiot.”

Noah looked down at his mate in his arms, she looked a bit worn, and he could tell she had been crying. He remembered seeing the dagger and hearing a scream; it was only darkness after that.

He pulled Daisy closer, asking Raja how it all happened.

But Raja was suddenly mysterious and told him he would tell him when they were a lot older.

He started to kiss Daisy’s face to wake her up, and Raja began to purr.
