Chapter 173 Standing United
Elara's POV
"Fifty-three minutes until the void army attacks," Thorne announced. "What's the decision?"
Give Aurora to Seraphina? Or fight infinite void creatures?
"Neither," I said. "We find option three."
"There IS no option three!" Drakon paced. "Seraphina's right. We can't protect Aurora AND fight void-Helena's army."
"Then we don't fight alone." I turned to our assembled allies. "You came to help against the Western Coalition. Will you help against this too?"
Queen Thalassa stepped forward. "The void threatens all of us. Not just your kingdom. We fight together."
The ice clan chief nodded. "Unity means standing together against ALL enemies. Not just convenient ones."
One by one, every allied kingdom pledged to fight.
Seventy-five thousand strong. United against the void.
"It won't matter," Seraphina warned. "Void creatures multiply infinitely. You kill one, two appear. You're just delaying the inevitable."
"Then we delay until we find a solution." I looked at Aurora. "We ALWAYS find a solution."
Aurora grabbed my hand. "I can help, Mama. I have void power too. Maybe I can control them?"
"Absolutely not. You're staying far away from this battle."
"But..."
"No arguments."
The countdown hit forty-five minutes.
Void-Helena's army appeared on the horizon. Black. Writhing. Growing.
"Defensive positions!" Drakon commanded. "Protect the castle! Protect Aurora!"
Our allies formed ranks. Dragons in the sky. Merfolk protecting water approaches. Ice clans creating barriers. Werewolves on the ground. Phoenix clans with fire. Humans with weapons and courage.
United. Strong. Together.
The void army attacked.
It was chaos immediately. Void creatures swarming from all directions.
Our forces fought bravely. But Seraphina was right. Kill one creature, two appeared. We were losing ground.
"Fall back to secondary positions!" Thorne yelled.
"We need a new strategy!" Queen Thalassa called. "Fighting isn't working!"
Then Aurora did something unexpected.
She walked onto the battlefield.
"Aurora, NO!" I screamed.
But she kept walking. Calm. Determined.
"I figured it out, Mama. How to stop them."
She raised her hands. Purple-black void energy poured out. But different than the creatures'.
Hers was controlled. Balanced. Mixed with light.
The void creatures stopped. Confused.
"You're not real void," Aurora told them. "You're just copies. Shadows. But I'm REAL void. Real light. Real balance. And I command you to STOP."
Her voice echoed with power. Ancient. Primal.
The creatures froze. Actually froze.
"Return to the void realm," Aurora commanded. "Now."
They dissolved. Vanished. Gone.
All of them. Thousands of void creatures. Eliminated by one eight-week-old girl.
Our allies stared in shock.
"She just..." Queen Thalassa couldn't finish. "How?"
"She's the convergence," I breathed. "She doesn't just have light and void. She controls BOTH. Perfectly."
Void-Helena appeared. Furious. "That's impossible! Those were MY creatures! MY void!"
"Not anymore." Aurora's eyes glowed silver. "I'm stronger than you. Stronger than any single-aspect being. Because I'm complete. Whole. Balanced."
"We'll see about that." Void-Helena raised her hands.
But our seventy-five thousand allies surrounded her. United front.
"You're outnumbered," Drakon said. "Surrender Mother's body. Now."
"Or what? You'll kill your precious mother?" She laughed.
"No," Aurora said. "I'll free her."
She walked toward void-Helena. Placed small hands on Mother's possessed body.
Light and void magic poured from Aurora. Perfectly balanced. Surgically precise.
It separated void-Helena from Mother's consciousness. Pulled the possession apart.
Mother collapsed. Free. Gasping. Alive.
Void-Helena's form flickered. Weakening without a host body.
"This isn't over," she hissed. "I'll return. Stronger. And I'll take all three of you. Mark my words."
She vanished.
Silence fell over the battlefield.
Then cheering erupted. From all seventy-five thousand allies.
"Victory!" they shouted. "Unity wins!"
I ran to Mother. She was weak but alive. Herself again.
"Aurora saved me," she whispered. "My brilliant granddaughter."
We'd won. Against impossible odds. Because we stood united.
Because Aurora was stronger than anyone imagined.
But as celebrations began, I noticed Aurora swaying. Exhausted.
Her countdown accelerated suddenly.
6 days became 3 hours.
"No!" I caught her as she collapsed. "What happened?"
"Used too much power," she gasped. "Manifestation coming early. Can't stop it."
"When?"
"Now, Mama. It's happening now."
Her body began glowing. Light and void swirling.
The true power manifestation. The one the Void Empress warned about. The one that would change everything.
It was happening three hours early.
And none of us were ready.
Aurora screamed. Her body lifted off the ground. Power exploding from her.
"Everyone back!" Chronax commanded. "The manifestation could destroy anything nearby!"
We retreated. Watching helplessly.
As my daughter transformed into something new. Something unprecedented.
The light faded slowly.
Aurora floated down. Changed.
She looked older. Not weeks old. Not months.
She looked one year old. Her body had aged instantly.
And she spoke. Clear. Perfect.
"Mama. Papa."
Her first real words. Not baby talk. Full speech.
"Aurora?" Drakon breathed. "You're..."
"Different. I know." She looked at her hands. Created a perfect ice sculpture with a thought. "The manifestation unlocked everything. All my power. All my potential. I'm not a baby anymore. Not really."
She toddled toward us. Walking. Running. Shifting between dragon and human playfully.
One year old in body. Ancient in mind.
"Happy birthday to me," she said wryly. "I guess?"
Our allies stared. Amazed. Terrified. Awed.
This was the princess they'd fought for. Powerful beyond measure. Unique beyond compare.
"We should celebrate," I said, trying to sound normal despite my shock. "You're one year old now. That deserves a party."
"Can we?" Aurora's eyes lit up. Still a child despite everything. "A real birthday party?"
"The biggest one ever," Drakon promised.
Preparations began immediately. Massive celebration. Our allies staying to honor Aurora's unexpected birthday.
But that night, as Aurora slept, three figures appeared in her nursery.
The Void Empress. Void-Helena. And Queen Morgana.
All three. Together. Watching my daughter.
"The manifestation is complete," the Empress said. "She's reached full power. Perfect balance. Exactly as prophesied."
"Which makes her the key," Morgana added. "To opening permanent rifts. To merging all realms. To remaking reality itself."
"In three days, we take her," void-Helena agreed. "During her birthday celebration. When everyone's distracted. When guards are down."
"And this time," the Void Empress smiled, "nothing can stop us. Because now she's powerful enough to be worth the risk. Worth starting the final war."
They vanished.
Leaving one truth behind.
Aurora's first birthday party would be the battlefield for the war to end all wars.
And my one-year-old daughter was the prize everyone wanted to claim.
