“Stop running Maximilian, you will fall if you’re not careful!” the mother yelled frustrated to the little boy who was running around in the garden with a mischievous smirk on his face.
“God, he is just like his father, he won’t listen to me!” The boy’s mother muttered with a scowl.
“oh coming now Sheila,you know what you need?, a good night out with some mind-blowing sex, that’s what you need! When was even the last time that you went out anyways or is that sexy hubby of yours not taking you out or what?”
Sheila sighed deeply with her eyes down.
“Please Ann, I don’t want to talk about it!” She whispered with a voice laced with sadness and bitterness.
“Why? What is going Sheila, you are not like this before, so what happened that changed you into this well boring, sad little housewife?!” Ann asked with raised eyebrows.
“Because that’s what I am right now Ann, I am nothing more than a sad little housewife sitting in a big expensive house with a child who is annoying the hell out of me because he is always naughty and won’t listen and a husband who is never around, always gone doing God knows what, I am just a trophy wife, a name to show of in public Anna, my life is not as glamorous as you think it is, far from it! I’m stuck in this shit with my mother in law watching every damn move I make as she is scared I run off and mess up her precious family name, that’s what my life is right now Ann!” Sheila lashed out to her best friend who looks shocked back at her.
“What do you mean Sheila, I thought you two were very happy especially since you gave him an heir!” Ann asked bewildered.
“Yeah I given him an heir but what has he given me?! Nothing!!” Sheila muttered bitterly.
“Really girl you surprise me! Is he that bad of a husband, what is going on, tell me, you know I will always be on your side right?” Ann said while grabbing Sheila’s hand.
“Yeah I know and I am very grateful for that! You’re the only real person in my life besides the kid”
Oh come now….the kid? Your son, Sheila…the kid sounds so awful, if his father is such a jerk then why not divorce him?
Sheila laughed sarcastically and then looked from her friend to her little boy and then her eyes wondered off into the far distance.
“Divorce is not an option Ann, not in this family! You know what Micah is right, well then you know it is not an option especially with his mother still around and the fact that he has a son now, an heir to the Santorini empire, if I would go I will not leave my son behind so it’s a no-go Ann I just have to deal with it and try to find a way to go out more like you so nicely suggested” Sheila chuckled the last part with a sigh.
“Oh there you are my sweet little boy! Come with grandma, we are going to get some ice cream ok!” Anastasia suddenly entered the garden after finishing a phone call.
“Hello Mrs. Santorini, how are you doing?” Ann greeted.
“Hello Ann, nice to see you again, what brings you here?” Anastasia asked with a slight frown.
“I am taking her out for a girls night on the town, she needs it desperately so who am I as her best friend to deny her that?” Ann replied with a smug grin on her face.
“Indeed, indeed! Well take care and Sheila don’t come home too late you know your husband don’t like that!”
After Anastasia is gone with Maximilian in her arms, Ann rolls her eyes behind her retreating back towards Sheila who sighed deeply.
“You understand now what I am up against Ann?” She muttered in frustration.
Ann nodded while squinting her eyes as she watched a black SUV entering the gate.
“Whose that, your husband?” She asked.
“No, my mother in-law’s boyfriend” Sheila replied with a dirty taste in her mouth as she watched the car park close to the garage.
“Wait, why are you looking like you just eat a snail or something?”
“Because he gives me the creeps Ann, there is something about him that is not right but I can’t put my finger on it!” Sheila whispered.
Intrigued Ann keeps on looking as the door of the car opens and then she gasps softly.
“Damn he is Hot though…look at that body, don’t you think he is Hot Sheila?” Ann mushed with her eyes still plastered on the man who was now entering trough the backdoor where Anastasia waited for him.
“Girl are you crazy? Do you have a dead wish or something, I just told you he is the boyfriend of my mother in-law so stop drooling over him!” Sheila whispered in shock upon hearing her friend.
“Com on, it’s not like they can hear us, I just like older men you know, I don’t do boys but this one I would most definitely do, that is if he was not already taken….” Ann mumbled.
“Just stop it, let’s go get ready for the club so you can find yourself an older playboy there!” Sheila hissed in slight annoyance.
“Ok, fine fine let’s go, but if they ever break up, call me!” Ann grinned wickedly, making Sheila to roll her eyes at her.
“Whatever girl!” Sheila whispered as she stood up to walk back inside trough the open french doors.
Later that evening the two woman are in the backseat of a dark SUV with two bodyguards sitting in front of whom one is the driver.
“So are you ever going to tell what is really going on between you two?” Ann asked, breaking the silence.
But before Sheila answered she pressed a button and the screen between the front and the back went up, giving them a bit of privacy.
“Please you can’t tell anybody else Ann, please promise me!” Sheila replied in a hushed tone.
“I swear on my brothers life, now tell me please!” Ann replied.
“Okay, well it all happened to go down the drain when we found out that Snow was carrying Micah’s baby! His mother was beyond furious and planned a hit on her so she would not inherit anything from Micah’s empire but the hit was not as successful as Anastasia hoped and Snow survived but she did lose the baby and that part was the drop that made Micah loose his mind. Since then he just changed Ann, it was already not ideal with him thinking that I slept behind his back with his head of security and then my parents on our wedding well it’s all just so messed up! He never looked at me again, I started drinking and rarely came home in the evenings and when he finally did came home that night he….he, well he so wasted that he didn’t even know….that night when Maximilian was conceived” Sheila finished the story in a low whisper with glistening eyes of unshed tears.
“oh my God! You mean he….he forced himself on you when he was drunk?!….ow Sheila I’m so sorry honey!” Ann whispered softly as she takes a shivering Sheila in her arms.
As Ann rubs her back gently, Sheila sighs deeply and let her tears float freely. After some minutes she leans back and dries her eyes with her hands and manages a small smile.
“Thank you, you are a true friend! I do not know what I would do without you!” Sheila mushed.
“Well I know, but you would hate me saying it so I will not! Let’s just forget all the shit in our lives tonight and just enjoy ok!”
“Ok let’s do that!” Sheila replied.
Short while later the car stops and one of the guards opens the backdoor for them to get out.
“If you need us Donna me and Justin will be inside as well, just use your panic button or phone ok?”
“Sure Carlos thank you”
“Your welcome, enjoy your night out ladies!” Carlos wishes before the two friends enter the club.
“Wherever you are Micah, I hope you are happy!” Sheila mumbles softly to herself.
Is the last thought that crossed Sheila’s mind before she pushes thoughts of him completely to the background and start to enjoy herself, something she hasn’t been doing for a very long time.
