Micah walked away from the life he had built, a man hollowed out by grief and loss. He had sacrificed his unexpected love to keep her safe, but in doing so, he had lost a part of himself that he knew he would never get back. And so, he walked into the shadows, a ghost of the man he had once been, haunted by the memory of the love he had let go.
As hours passed and turned into days and days slowly into weeks he felt deeply lost and broken.
On the other side, Snow had returned to her ice castle where she was greeted by an angry mob of half humans and creatures, angry at her for leaving them behind almost starving and for the news of the murder of one of their own by human hands that somehow had reached them.
Trying to get back to her old self she killed a few and tree some in her cold cellars hoping it would numb her feelings but her heart still ached deeply for him and their lost baby.
At night in the silence of her own room she re-read Micah’s letter, over and over again until she fell asleep with the piece of paper clutched in her hands, remembering every word of it…
“Dear Snow, I am setting you free, this world is not for you, it has done already so much harm to you in your past that I can’t leave you here re-living those horrors again since my mother is hell bend on removing you from my life permanently. I know this will hurt you but it’s the only thing I can think of doing as to keep you out of her hands, to keep you safe, if I have a chance I will come find you but for now I have to let you go!
You have turned my life upside down Snow, I forgive you for taking me, I’m even kind of happy because otherwise I would have never met you….sounds weird right? Well I think I am going crazy anyways. Please promise me you will take care of yourself.

The words making so many different emotions stir up in her.
Could she trust him? Would he come back for her or would he just go on with his life?
Would fate be so cruel as to keep them apart forever?
Only time would tell…
