Chapter 46 A coward
Madison's POV
"Show me your wild side."
"Come on, this is where you put it all on me, Raven."
His soft breath fanned my neck, his chest pressed to my back, leaving no space between us.
My eyes scanned the environment, taking in the curious eyes that settled on us. I wanted to move away from him but at the same time, stay there.
I wanted the women with hungry, salivating stares know that he was with me.
"In this... In this open space?" I asked, ignoring the stares. Pushing down the way his hot breath sent dirty shivers down my body, causing me to ache down there.
Trust me, there was nothing here to ache. Especially for what I was about to do.
He gripped my hair, pulling it back. "I thought you liked it rough?" His teeth grazed my earlobe, shuddered breath leaving my lips.
"But..."
"Come on, Raven. Strip off your good girl title and lay all those steam...." His other hand trailed down from my neck to my chest, stopping his finger in-between my breast. "From in here... On me."
I held his hand to my chest, my breath hitched. I turned to look at him, my eyes hooded
"Show us what you got." He smirked, turning me around. He took me by my hand, taking me to the stage. "Ignore everyone, eyes on only me." He pulled my hands
I watched as he strapped the gloves on my hand. This was really happening.
" Fight me. "
I coughed so hard, my heart almost uprooted from my chest.
He rolled his eyes at my drama, circling around to standing behind me. He trailed his hands from my waist to my hand.
"Your body placement and hand placement needs to be good." He instructed, helping me keep the right posture. "It's a fist fight. This is how you tighten it to create an impact."
After he had finished instructing me on what and what not to do, he made me watch two people fight especially how they blocked and threw jabs at each other.
If you hadn't gotten what was going on, Alessandro was helping me train after I had told him I didn't like being weak.
"Your turn." He looked at me, pushing me back into the ring.
"I... I don't know how to fight."
"You want to keep being weak all your life?" He snapped, his glare hard. "You either fight or get beaten."
Then he paired me up with a girl. She didn't look like she could cause any damage until she threw the first jab, right across my face!
I fell to the ground, my eyes turning in circle.
"Come on, stand up!" Alessandro yelled. "Speed is another thing."
I shook my head, holding my nose. "That was hurtful." I cried
"Madison! I'd fucking give her a go ahead to attack if you don't fight back." His voice was hard.
"You.. you can't"
Then he smirked evilly, taking a step back. Only one look at my opponent and she made sure she taught me everything I needed to know about fighting
She made me understand what I was here for and how I had to save myself or watch myself die
"Enough." Alessandro yelled. "Hope it wasn't too hard." He asked the girl.
"Beginners hit." She replied, her voice hoarse. Too hoarse for a girl.
She wasn't a girl in any way. She hit like a fucking man.
And did she just call that beginners hit?
This wasn't no beginners hit. She hit like a Pro.
I struggled to stand up, holding my ribs as I muffled my groan. I felt like my old wound from days back had been torn open.
"I'm going home." I told Alessandro, trying to get out of the ring when he jumped in, blocking me
"No."
"No?" I raised my eyebrow at him. "What do you mean no?"
"You're weak and you're fine with it? Pathetic."
I pretended that it didn't hit me hard, ignoring him as I tried to side step him.
"You think its everytime some one would save you? Come on, don't be a burden to people." He talked again, making me halt.
I raised my head slowly, his words heavy. "I ...I am a burden to people? Did I beg them to step in for me? Did I beg you to step in for me?" I yelled the last question, poking him in the chest. He didn't flinch.
He scoffed, "Weak. Even your poke is weak ass. You really are going to die out there if this is all you have to offer. Nobody wants a woman who is weak and can't stand up for herself. One who cannot fight for herself and keep herself safe. Nobody does, trust me."
I didn't know how he managed to say those hurtful words to me with his speech so clear and face so straight. His eyes were so cold and emotionless.
My lips trembled. I bit it softly, falling my face to the ground, covering it with my hair. I didn't want anyone to look at me. I didn't want them to see the tears that glistened in my eyes.
He finally let me walk around me, not stopping me again.
"Run. Run like a coward." My feet glued to the ground, my chest rose and fell harshly.
I am not a coward
I wanted to scream that aloud but as usual, I succumbed to that part of me that just wanted to go back inside my shell.
I wasn't cut out for this life.
When I got to the hall way, I fell to the ground, dragging my knee up my chest, crying bitterly as I bowed my head down.
He wasn't wrong. I was so weak
I always wanted everything to go easy and that didn't always work for me.
He just didn't have to be the one to say it to my face. Because then it hurt ten times more.
"Madison!" He called, panic evident in his voice. He crouched to my level, placing his hand on each side of my thigh.
This time, it didn't affect my black heart.
I felt nothing but pent up anger and irritation.
I knocked his hand away, wiping my tears. "Leave me alone."
My eyes landed on his for a split second, connecting with the soft ones. They held pity in them
He was feeling bad for saying his thoughts about me out loud. Like he should've just continued to bottle it up.
"Maddie, I..."
"Don't. Don't say anything else. You've said enough." I held my ribs, groaning in pain.
I had healed earlier from the beating I got from open teeth and full brow, only to be hit again, opening a fresh pain.
She didn't hit to bruise me up or anything though but it still hurt.
"Can you listen to me?"
"No, you listen to me." I spoke, spinning around to face him. His eyes widened in surprise at my outburst. "I've made my decision."
He etched his eyebrow in confusion.
I wasn't going to let him write me off.
"And that is?"
"If I win the next match after my 5 weeks intense training, you'd promise to make a public apology to me in the ring." I looked him dead in the eye.
I got him right where I wanted.
I was going to bruise his ego.
He snickered. "On one condition."
My mind told me I wasn't going to like it. If anything, I knew Alessandro didn't play easy.
He was called the brute for a reason.
"You go up against my strongest girls." He smirked at me. "She kills."
My heart seized in fear but I didn't let that show on my face. So I kept a straight face up, stretching my hand.
"Deal."
