Chapter 12 Seducing a serpent
Madison's POV
I had never had mixed feeling for a person, like I did for Alessandro.
It was either hatred or likeness.
With him, I was caught in between.
One moment, he made me feel safe and the other moment, I was looking at him like I couldn't recognize him; like he was the last person I wanted to see.
I stood outside his door, waiting just like the guard told me to. He was in a business meeting with someone, they said.
If so, then tell me why I was fucking hearing a strangled moan from outside the door.
Business meeting my ass.
"This is taking so much time" I groaned, looking at the guard who wouldn't bat an eyelash at me.
In as much as I didn't want to look at him - ever, i needed to address what had been bothering me. Stefan told me a lot and I needed to be sure he wasn't pulling my legs.
Hissing softly, I raised my hand to knock on the door again only for it to swing open.
My mouth fell open as the familiar face showed up in my face, her eyes red.
"Ex..excuse me" She said lowly, I almost didn't hear her. Tears clung to her eyelashes. Her hair messy as a bed nest.
Did he beat her? That was the first question that came to mind.
"Are...are you okay, June?" I asked her, still blocking her path. June was one of the unfriendly maids in the house.
"No!" She yelled, shoving past me. Her sobs had increased and were loud enough that it pierced my eardrums.
I looked at her retreating figure for a while, a bit confused at everything I had heard and witnessed.
"You may go in" The guard told me, snapping me out of my thought. I looked at the slightly opened door, taking a step back.
I didn't think I wanted to go in again.
"Madison. Get inside here now." Alessandro's voice blasted. I bit my lips, pushing the door open slowly.
"Don" I greeted, dragging my feet in, as slow as a snail.
"You said you wanted to see me? Is it about what I owe you for being on your best behavior?" He stood up, walking towards a small door. The sound of water running echoed into the main office.
I waited for him to come out before talking. "Yeah. I wanted to see you but I don't know if now is a good time." I turned to look at the door, still remembering the girl's face.
"I didn't hurt her." He said, his voice hard.
My eyes widened slightly, surprised at how he knew what I was thinking.
He resumed his seat, pointing at a chair for me to sit.
"Then... Then why was she crying?" I asked, sitting down at the edge of the chair. I didn't want to relax much.
It was my first time being in his main office and so as I talked, I filled my eyes. His table was filled with papers, a laptop and of course, a knife and a gun. A pack of cigarettes laid close to the gun, a lighter too. On the wall, was a large board, covered with a red clothing, a marker hanging from the corner.
Alessandro had two offices in the Manor and I had no idea what each one was for but I guessed this was his office as a Mafia leader.
"Her duty was to clean but it seems like she had much more intentions and deviated from her fucking job and so I fucked her mouth." When he said those words, he stared into my eyes, his pinning mine down.
I swallowed hard, not breaking eye contact. "Then I fired her for deviating from her duty."
He carried himself with pride as he spoke. My face suddenly contorted into one of disgust.
"That was cruel. You know what else is cruel? How you beat people up without waiting to hear their explanation or without giving them a second chance to redeem themselves." I told him, my body hot from the anger boiling of inside me.
One I had been holding since.
"You beat up your cousin when he did absolutely nothing!" I frowned. "That day, I saw a reptile I hated so much and fell to the ground when it jumped on my body. He had just stepped inside to check up on me when you walked in and pounced on the poor guy." I explained, my nose red. "Same thing with the guard, you shot him."
He doesn't say anything as he just stared at me while I ranted.
"You were a good girl yesterday and I owe you for that." He licked his lips, his eyes roaming around my body, like my ranting had just turned him on.
What kind of a psychopath was this?
"That's not what I'm talking about here, Alessandro!" I snapped. My body froze instantly at the realization of what I did.
"And now you just earned yourself a punishment as well. So that gives you pleasure and pain." He stood up, walking around his table.
I dared not move.
I sat still, looking down. Saying sorry wasn't going to undo shit so I didn't say it either.
"Look at me." He commanded. I raised my head up, locking my eyes with his. "You don't feel sorry."
I swear this man was reading my mind and there was no two ways about it.
I didn't say anything to debunk it either because in fact, I didn't feel sorry for calling him out.
"Could that be because you want to experience both pleasure and pain?" He smirked for a while.
I bit my lips, not knowing what to say.
He scoffed lightly, his face turning serious. He tucked his hand in his pocket, his tone dangerously calm."You'd be going on a mission in a week time and that leaves you with a week to perfect whatever you'd be taught."
Taught?
I raised my eyebrow in confusion.
"I'd send you series of videos to watch and learn. Every evening by 7 p.m., you'd come over here to teach me what you've learnt." He smirked slightly at me.
I blinked my eyes severally at him. He wasn't serious right?
He walked forward to me, his pelvic region in my face. He traced his thumb on my lips slowly as he spoke. "It's going to be a dangerous work but you. must. not. be. caught."
My heart beat began to drum loud. "Dangerous? Why..why me then?"
"Because you have the body, the aura - fuck, you don't even know what you're capable of doing to a full grown man, Raven" He patted my jaw. "Your eyes alone does the job. Let's not talk about when you do that thing with your teeth grazing your lips." He leaned forward, his nose touching mine, his lips inches away from mine. "So. Fucking. Sexy"
We stayed like that for a while, just breathing as we stared into each other's eyes. He cupped my cheek with his hand, his mouth falling slightly open.
I copied his action, parting my lips slightly as I pushed forward a bit, soft breaths leaving my lips. He pulled away harshly, turning his back at me.
"You must not share a kiss with any fucking person ever, if you don't want them losing their lives." His back was tensed. I looked down to my thigh, controlling my ragged breaths.
Embarrassed at how he pulled away swiftly like my breath sucked.
Whenever we got too close, he ran away like he never should've gotten close to me. Like I irked him.
It was unfair.
"You've...." I caught my breath and continued. "You've been saying a lot but haven't made much sense. What will I be doing, Don? What is this mission all about?"
"You, my pet..." He turned to me, his eyes cold, the flames of the lighter reflecting in his eyes. "Will be seducing a serpent to retrieve something dear. If it bites you..."
He blew off the fire. "You're dead."
Oh boy.
