Chapter 100 Uninvited guest
Madison's POV
Wedding bells rang and I answered.
I almost turned it down.
I had even gotten to the door, ready to run away.
It felt very unfair knowing what I knew and still wanted to push through but ...
I had to be selfish.
Alessandro was everything I wanted in a man. I didn't realize I had a type until I met him.
Until he let me in.
Now, I was going to stay by his side no matter what.
The relief and happiness on his face after I told him I was kidding and that I was going to get married to him, was everything.
As long as Maria kept playing her cards well, I had nothing to worry about.
I already told her that I was going to get married to Alessandro and if she really loved me as her child, she would let me have this one moment.
She'd let me make a decision for myself.
She went quiet ever since then.
I took that as acceptance though. Not like I needed her acceptance anyway.
"I do." Alessandro spoke, looking directly into my eyes.
My heart swelled, tears welling up.
Fuck, he was mine officially.
"Any objections to this beautiful union?" The priest asked.
I knew it was just for formalities. No one dared to object.
Not even Claudia who sat at the front row, glaring daggers at us. Or Igor who must be watching this from the live stream.
It was a grande wedding.
Adrianne told me what to expect as a Mafia bride, being put out to the world but she assured me that Alessandro had my back.
I knew that already.
I was ready to take risks for him.
"I thought you'd never ask." A croaked masculine voice spoke.
Alessandro and I turned our face. My heart froze as my eyes connected with Ivano Salvatore.
No.
"I object to this marriage." He added, glaring at Alessandro.
Alessandro smirked, strolling down to meet him.
Please don't go.
Don't listen to him.
Let's run away.
"On what grounds, Ivano? You weren't even invited." He stood face to face with Ivano.
Ivano's eyes narrowed to where I stood, shock washing over me.
"You good?" Adrianne placed her hand on my back.
No!
"On the grounds that you're about to get married to my daughter." He smiled at me. "Madison Rosetta Salvatore."
Loud gasp erupted from the crowd. Everyone's attention were now on me.
Adrianne snatched her hand away immediately. Alessandro turned to look at me, a boisterous laughter following afterwards.
"Oh Ivano!" He placed his hand on Ivano's shoulder. "It's no news that you are looking for your lost or dead daughter but assuming that's my wife? That's comical."
"Well, let's see who the clown is." Ivano nodded at Santiago who stood by the entrance of the door. "My wife and Helen Turner lied to me."
As usual, the crowd went frenzy.
God, having an earthquake now would be nice.
Please.
Alessandro turned to me, his facial expression neutral but his eyes said it all.
He was confused.
Shocked.
"Helen helped my wife, Maria to keep my baby girl away from me." Ivano pointed at Helen, whose eyes were red. "Tell them!"
Helen's voice shook, "it's... It's true. I helped Maria Salvatore switch her baby with someone elses who didn't need their child and then I took her own child, Madison." She pointed at me.
My heart shattered into million pieces.
"How... I don't believe this. It could be staged." Alessandro walked up to me. "Baby, do you know that woman? Is that your mother? The one you've been looking for?"
My lips quivered, my eyes blurry from the tears that clouded them.
I nodded slowly.
"Madison? Oh she knew everything." Ivano smiled. "Maria and Helen told her."
Alessandro withdrew his hand, frowning slightly at me.
"Mad...Madison ..."
"Here's the DNA test by the way. I had someone steal her hair brush so I could do my findings myself."
Santiago walked up to us, smiling brightly. He looked at me, "Seems like Aunty Ari was right all along, baby sis."
My heart squeezed.
Alessandro held the paper, reading it. Then he scrunched it up and tossed it.
He held my shoulder, looking into my eyes, the vein on his forehead popping out.
"Tell me they're lying. Tell me you didn't know. Tell me you are just finding out, Madison!" His voice was hard.
My shoulder shook, my hand covering my mouth.
"Speak Madison. Stop fucking crying. I need you to talk to me now." He begged, his voice cracking.
"It wasn't her fault!" Maria yelled from the congregation. "She only -"
"Shut up!" Ivano growled at her. "You're lucky you can still walk with those legs. Fucking liar."
"Madison!"
I flinched, looking at him. My head bobbed up and down frantically. "I knew... I..."
"Fuck!" He pulled away from me like I burned him. His eyes were dark with fury. His nose flaring. "You fucking knew and you let me - fucking hell."
The tears rolled down my eyes uncontrollably. "I promise, I just found out. You have to believe me."
"Liar!" He screamed. "You knew all along and kept it from me. You listened to me talk about how I wanted to wipe your family. You were working for them all along, weren't you?"
"What are you saying, Alessandro?" I tried to touch him but he pushed my hands away.
"Don't fucking touch me, you liar."
"Stop, you're hurting me." I cried, trying to touch him again. "I've been working with only you. You know this."
"Fool me once and get away but twice?" Alessandro yelled. "Never happening."
"Please. I'm equally as shocked as you. I couldn't tell you when I found out few days ago because I was scared that you'd not want anything to do with me." If I was a child, I'd be jumping and crying at the same time.
That was how I felt.
I was having an emotional wreck inside of me.
"Oh please." Alessandro turned away. "Call off the wedding! Cancel everything. It's over. Fucking lying bitc - fuck!"
"Let's go, baby sis." Santiago stretched his hand to me but I shoved them away, going after Alessandro.
"Alessandro, please don't leave me." I held his suit, crying harder.
He turned abruptly, holding my chin. "You will get out of my sight, Madison. I never want to see you in my life again."
Ivano raised his gun at Alessandro, frowning. "Let my daughter go."
"You don't mean that." I shook my head, my voice small.
His temple ticked, his eyes holding a lone tear. "I mean every of it."
He pushed my face away from his grip, turning away. I tried to go after him but paused, my heart jumping into my mouth when he pulled the trigger into the air.
Everyone screamed, taking cover except myself, Alessandro, Ivano, Santiago, Nikolai, Stefan My mothers and Adrianne.
Oh and the guards.
"Get out of my territory, you bloody Salvatores." Then Alessandro pointed the gun at me, his hand trembling. "Including you, Madison Salvatore."
"No..."
"Santiago, get your sister. The war is on, Alessandro." Ivano ordered.
I shook my head at Alessandro, begging him with my eyes not to let them take me.
His eyes bore into mine, hard as stone. "You are officially now my enemy. Watch your damn back, Madison."
