Chapter 59 Post Accident II
“Alright then! I'll be going to bed now!”, Mia said as she turned and left the kitchen.
Andreas stole glances at her as she walked out of the kitchen, his mind finally registering that he'd had two different conversations with Mia.
He smiled widely as followed after to get said documents for Luciano.
To him, that was rather unusual and felt very nice.
The following morning, Madam Paula got up bright and early and cooked a hearty meal with what was left in the pantry for the men on guard and occupants of the mansion itself.
She had sent breakfast to the hospital for Luciano and Andreas as she prepared to go get groceries.
What she didn't know was Isabella had packed very little and had gone to drop it in the trunk of the ‘errand vehicle’.
The ladies had no idea what was about to happen.
“Come on, go prepare for the market!”, Madam Paula said as she opened Mia’s room.
“Oh! We're going now?”, Mia asked as it wasn't noon just yet.
“Yes, we have to go earlier so we can get back on time!”, Madam Paula replied curtly as she closed the door.
She approached Isabella's room, knocking once before she entered the room.
“How are you doing?!”, Madam Paula said as she went towards where Isabella laid on the bed.
“I think it became even worse!”, Isabella replied in the hoarse voice she had practiced before then.
“Ohhh! Well, you can rest now! Mia and I would be going to get groceries, you can have all the rest you need!”, Madam Paula said.
“Yes ma'am!”, Isabella said, snuggling into her bed.
“Take care!”, Madam Paula simply said as she left the room.
Hearing the footsteps receding, Isabella waited for the silence to ensure before she hopped off her bed.
Throwing the covers away from her body, it turned out Isabella was already dressed.
She put several pillows she had gotten from the store under the covers to make it look like she was indeed sleeping.
Perfect, Isabella thought as she stepped back to admire how person-like the pillows were arranged.
She patted the money in her backpocket before she headed out of her room.
Thankfully, her door didn't make any squeaking sounds, thus, she gently closed it behind her, so as not to alert anybody.
She snuck through the back entrance, not really caring about the cameras as she didn't plan on being found out.
Isabella closed the back door gently as she approached the ‘errand vehicle’, careful not to alert anyone.
It was always unlocked, thus, she went through the back door of the car to go ahead and hide in the trunk.
She grasped her small bag tightly as she remained quiet.
It was rather uncomfortable, but she had smelt the air of freedom and she wasn't about to let it go just like that.
She waited a while before she heard the car’s ignition being turned on.
The driver drove the car to the front of the mansion, Madam Paula and Mia coming out of the mansion soon after.
“I just hope Isabella is okay!”, Isabella heard Mia say as she closed the door behind her.
“We'll get her drugs on our way back. It seemed even serious when I went to see her this morning!”, Madam Paula replied.
“Could it be her cramps??”, Mia asked, wondering why Isabella's stomach suddenly started aching.
“It probably could be. The sooner we leave, the sooner we can get said drugs!”, Madam Paula said before she faced the driver.
“Please take us to the market!”, Madam Paula said as the car rolled out.
The concern the ladies felt for her didn't melt her heart as she had already made a decision.
Isabella peeped through a crack in the seats as she felt the car moving.
She could see her new life already! One very very far from Luciano.
The drive to the market took quite a while, Isabella enduring the pain of the bumps in silence as the ladies couldn't know she was there to begin with.
No wonder they come back really late, Isabella thought as she caressed the lever she would pull to get out of the trunk.
They soon got to the market after what felt like hours to Isabella because she didn't have a method of telling the time.
All she had was her will, some cash and a stack of clothes.
The car came to a halt on a street near the market, Isabella peeping through the seats again to see how the place looked.
“Paulo, come with us! We need to get a heavy sack of potatoes!”, Madam Paula said to the driver.
“Yes ma'am!”, Paulo acknowledged as all three of them stepped out of the car.
Paulo locked the car behind him as he followed after Madam Paula and Mia.
Isabella peeped through the crack in the seats again, gently coming out of her hiding spot as she saw the three of them take a turn.
Unsure of how long they would take, Isabella pulled the lever, finally breathing fresh air.
She needed to leave the vehicle because the sack of said potatoes would be in the trunk.
She quickly grabbed her things as she stepped out of the trunk, ensuring that she didn't leave anything behind.
Isabella had never asked where they always got groceries from as she never thought she would be free from Luciano.
Thus, she was a bit confused.
That didn't mean she would stop however as she thanked her stars for seeing a taxi.
Stretching out her hand, The taxi stopped right in front of Isabella.
“Where ma'am!?”, The taxi driver asked.
“Go as far as possible from here!”, Isabella replied as she entered the cab, looking back to make sure no one had seen her.
“That would cost a few Euros ma'am!”, the taxi driver replied as he looked at Isabella through the rear view mirror.
“That wouldn't be a problem!”, Isabella replied, the car moving soon after.
The taxi driver looked at her like she was another teenager who was impulsive and running away from home.
He would do his job if she was willing to pay.
