Chapter 38 Lake House
As Andreas speculated, someone was indeed in trouble. Except, she didn't know it yet.
Isabella stood up from her bed after she noticed the noise had died down.
‘Would he have gone back to his room by now!?’, Isabella asked herself as she tiptoed to her door.
Placing her ear gently on the door, she strained her ears, wondering if she'd hear any sound.
She certainly didn't expect that she'd hear a sudden series of knocks.
That alone scared her to the bones.
She quickly ran, still on her tiptoes to the side of the bed she had been sleeping on.
She quickly lied face down, covering her body half way with the cover.
Luciano raised an eyebrow as he picked up running sounds.
Quietly shaking his head, Luciano thought about the trip he was to take and how much fun he was going to have.
Yes, in his quiet time, Luciano pondered on the effect someone he barely knew had on his thinking process.
He knocked again, wondering if she was dressing or trying to cover up.
Then, he opened the door, shaking his head as he saw Isabella laying on her bed.
If he hadn't been the one to carry her and check her pulse, Luciano would have no idea that she had fainted.
She slept like she had fought in the second world war.
He entered the room as he left the door wide open, going close to Isabella, who desperately prayed he didn't try to wake her up.
Luciano knew she was already awake and that she was pretending.
Simply shaking his head, he walked out of her room, heading up to his room.
He wondered if she was going to be able to keep up with avoiding him when they got to the lake house.
The black haired lady never ceased to amuse him.

As Luciano closed the door behind him, Isabella, opened her eyes slowly, one after the other as she looked to see if he had completely left the room.
She breathed in a sigh of relief as she noticed that Luciano already left.
Avoiding the man in his own mansion was even more difficult than she thought.
Calculating that Luciano would have gone up the stairs, Isabella quickly stood as she tucked in her bed.
“I have to get to doing my chores!”, Isabella said as she entered her bathroom to take a bath.

“Is Isabella alright!?!”, Madam Paula asked Mia as she did the dishes.
“Yes ma'am! She's alright!”, Mia answered as she had gone to check on Isabella earlier in the morning.
“Very well then! We have to leave the mansion in a few hours! Make sure she's awake and ready by then!”, Madam Paula ordered as Isabella entered the kitchen.
“Who's she?!”, Isabella asked as she heard some of what Madam Paula said.
“Ohh Isa! How was your sleep!?”, Madam Paula asked.
“It was very well ma'am, thank you!”, Isabella answered as she remembered the man who came to check on her while she was “asleep!”
“Alright then! I'll just say this while you both are here…!”, Madam Paula drawled as she watched the confused faces of both ladies.
“Is anything the matter ma'am!?”, Mia asked.
“The boss wants us to clean one of the lake houses in Italy! So pack a few things Isabella!”, Madam Paula said.
Isabella picked a few things from Madam Paula's sentence which confused her.
“Us?
Also you said one of the lake houses on Italy.
He has more!?!”, Isabella asked in disbelief as she stared between Mia and Madam Paula.
“I was as surprised as you when I found out!”, Mia said as she saw Isabella react to Madam Paula's statement.
“That's fine girls! Do what I told you!!”, Madam Paula said as she left the kitchen to get the things she would need.
“Get back to work and stop gossiping!”, Madam Paula said, predicting what the girls would do if she left the kitchen.
“Yes ma'am!”, The ladies answered as they giggled quietly.
Hearing her footsteps recede, Isabella moved closer to Mia trying to get the gist.
“What did she mean by one of the lake houses?!”, Isabella asked.
“Did you really think Mr Rossi only owned this mansion?!”, Mia asked back.
“Oh my God!”, Isabella exclaimed in disbelief.
“Why are you so surprised?!”, Mia asked as she saw Isabella's expression.
Quickly connecting the dots, Isabella saw how it could be possible.
If the man could afford to loan someone the amount of money he did her father, he sure must have lots of it.
“Come on! Get back to work! We're toast if Madam Paula catches us gossiping!”, Mia said, reminding Isabella.
“Alright! But, do you need my help?”, Isabella asked before she left the kitchen.
“No, just go pack!”, Mia replied.
“Okay!”, Isabella replied as she left the kitchen.
In no way intent on seeing the Don, Isabella was very happy she was going to leave the mansion after some time.
Quickly heading to her room, Isabella found a small bag where she kept the things she'll need for her stay in the lake house.
She was confused however on why she needed to pack.
‘Why do I need to pack when I'm only going to clean the place!’, Isabella thought.
Regardless, she decided to do as she was told, so as to avoid seeing The Don.
She quickly closed the bag, heading out of her bedroom, intending to be back as soon as they were done.
Isabella was definitely in for a surprise.
Approaching the living room, Isabella saw Mia and Madam Paula gathering wash liquid and other essentials to clean the place.
“I'm ready!”, Isabella said as she dropped the small bag by her leg.
“Haven't you packed?!”, Isabella asked as she wondered where the ladies’ bags were.
“Oh, we aren't staying there with you!”, Madam Paula answered like it wasn't a big deal.
“What do you mean!??”, Isabella asked as she began dreading the fact that she would be there, alone with Luciano.
The man scared the living daylights out of her.
“Like she said, you'll be the one working there…!”, Mia drawled as she quickly reacted to a bottle falling.
“You don't have to worry Isabella, you won't be lonely there! There's a lady who also stays there, like the manager, much like Madam Paula's job!
“Yes, Alex would be there to keep you company while you're there!”, Madam Paula said, mentioning the name of the lady whose job was to make sure the lake house was up and running.
“How long am I going to be there?!”, Isabella asked as her spirits lowered.
