Chapter 36 Drifting thoughts
He thought, ‘Isabella didn't have to do this much!’
With wide eyes, Luciano immediately shook the thought out of his head.
He furrowed his brows as he looked at one of his uncle's maid who was overly chirpy and shouldn't have crossed a line with.
Grabbing his phone, he suddenly didn't feel like having breakfast in his uncle's house anymore.
“Don!”, the lady called out, seeing that Luciano had already left the table before she even got to it.
“Put more clothes on!”, Luciano simply said as he headed back to his uncle's office.
Slightly knocking before he entered, Luigi commented.
“Well, that was fast!”
“I have a meeting uncle! Following that I'll be going back to Milan!”, Luciano said.
“This certainly has to go down the books as the quickest visit from you!”, Luigi responded.
“I'm sorry uncle, I didn't plan to stay for long?”, Luciano answered.
“Alright, come on! Let's hug it out! Check on me later…!”, Luigi said as he stood up.
He continued as she approached Luciano, “Check In on your old man more often, yes?!”
Hugging his uncle, Luciano patted his uncle's back before pulling from the hug.
“I definitely will!”
Turning to leave, Luciano’s mind went back to his reaction when the maid appeared.
He shook his head again, the feeling of disgust surfacing.
A way to dispel the thoughts that were coming to form in his head.
“She was nothing but entertainment!”, Luciano thought to himself as he approached the main exit to his uncle's house.
\~~~
“Is there anything wrong?!”, Andreas asked Luciano as he followed him to the car.
“No, I just don't feel like having breakfast here!”, Luciano said as they entered the waiting car.
Slightly slamming the door on the side of the car he sat in, Luciano ordered the driver, “take us to a breakfast cafe!”
“Yes Don!”, the driver simply replied as he rolled the car out.
“Any particular reason why you didn't want to have breakfast in your uncle's house?”, Andreas asked Luciano.
He turned to see the sarcastic look Luciano shot at him.
“Oh!”, Andreas said out of realization.
“We'll be leaving immediately after we have breakfast !”, Luciano said, determined to utilize his form of entertainment later that day.
No, he wasn't going to kill her!
He just needed to punish her for the thoughts he was starting to think about.
The fact that he was starting to entertain them angered him even more.
He had no idea how she had managed to sneak into his mind like that.
Isabella, who was watching a movie with Mia and Madam Paula certainly had no idea of the things she was about to go through from the owner of the house in question.
Things were going to be very confusing for onlookers soon enough.
The Don remained quiet for the rest of the day as they went on to get breakfast and head towards parts of Venice to drop something off.
Luciano's head lay rested on the head rest with his eyes closed. The Don was literally plotting.
He had had a bright idea to excite a reaction from his source of amusement.

Having no more business with Venice, Luciano and Andreas boarded a flight back to Milan.
“Is there anything worth my time back at the office today!?”, Luciano asked Andreas.
“Not particularly, but you have to go through the contract I sent to you, and then you have a meeting by 9!”, Andreas replied.
“Alright then! I'll get to the contract later when we're back in the mansion. Also, no need to follow me back…!”, Luciano drawled as he was interrupted by Andreas.
“Is there any particular reason?!”, he asked.
“Not really, I want to take a walk later!”, Luciano simply answered, keeping the details of his twisted plans to himself.
“Also! There's news from Madam Paula!" Andreas started, getting Luciano's attention.
“What news?!”, Luciano asked, having an idea of who said news might be centered on.
“Isabella's awake!”, Andreas said.
Simply nodding his head, Luciano went back to tapping away on his phone.
\~~~
“It feels weird not doing anything!”, Isabella said to Mia as they sat in the living room watching a show.
“Why would you say such a thing?!”, Mia said, grateful for the amount of rest she was getting.
“Because…!”, Isabella drawled as she turned to see Mia looking at her so intently.
“I'm listening!”, Mia said.
“I honestly don't know what it has been to rest. This is the first time this is happening since I've started working here!”, Isabella admitted.
Seeing that she had a point, Mia said, “You know what, all you said is true…!”
“What, what are you looking at?!”, Isabella asked as Mia suddenly stopped talking as her eyes opened wide.
Isabella turned to look in the direction Mia was looking at, but there was nothing there.
Turning, Mia grabbed her by the shoulder looking very elated.
“I should take a good nap while this lasts!”, Mia said as she headed to her room to take a good nap.
Hearing a door shut close, Isabella knew Mia was going to have a beautiful nap.
Thus, she remained the only one in the living room as Madam Paula had gone to bed earlier.
She wasn't going to disturb them however, the ladies had been up while she was unconscious in the early hours of the morning.
Isabella kept watching the show for a while till she suddenly got bored.
Sighing, Isabella went towards the remote, pressing the power button to turn the TV off.
She grabbed the blankets the ladies had been using to stay warm while the rain drizzled.
She folded the blankets neatly before going back to place them in the store.
A cold shiver ran down her spine as she remembered how Luciano had made her stand in the rain for what seemed like years.
The brief remembrance made her settle on avoiding him in every way possible.
‘It may be difficult, but it isn't impossible!”, Isabella thought as she sat by the kitchen island.
She didn't have a phone, the show already seemed boring, she didn't have books to keep her company, and the ladies were already asleep.
