Chapter 33 Cautious
With a dislocated shoulder, several bruises, torn, swollen lips and a limp in his leg, he walked towards the exit.
He quickly pressed the pin, the hatch opening to reveal that it was still bright outside.
He quickly climbed the ladder, still wary of guards waiting for him with machine guns.
Seeing there was no one in the room the hatch opened to, he quickly stepped out, his limp slowing him down more than he'd like.
‘ A store!’, he thought as he surveyed the room.
He closed the hatch after himself, laying the rug to cover the closed hatch, so as not to rouse suspicions.
Seeing a door, The man approached it cautiously. He wasn't very intent on being caught.
He opened the door slightly, peeping between the slight crack as he tried to control his heavy breaths.
‘Nobody’s here!’, he realized as he opened the door slowly, careful not to make any sound with it.
He came out to a long hallway, a metal door leading to his far right.
Having no clue exactly where he was brought, he didn't want to find out where the fine tiles led to, especially since it didn't have a door.
“What kind of safe house has frames and vases?!”, the man thought as he decided to head towards the door on his far right.
All he had in mind was to just escape! Thus, he didn't factor in the security cameras that could possibly be in the vicinity.
Luciano who kept looking at the live footage of the cameras in the back of the house because of a certain someone was rather surprised to see another figure head towards the back entrance.
“Shit!”, he said as he quickly stood up, heading towards a cabinet hidden in plain sight.
His mind quickly connecting the dots, Luciano quickly made the decision to do what was necessary.
He brought it out aggressively, revealing several guns of different sizes.
Luciano grabbed one of the small ones, wasting no time loading it with bullets.
He headed out of his room and towards the back wondering how the hell the man had slipped through the bunker.

The man in question felt rather happy as he opened the door to see an open yard.
Looking at how distant the door seemed from the fence that went around the yard, he only started to factor in the possibility of security cameras.
Thus, he closed the door behind him, wondering if he should make a run for it or find another way to get out.
Getting out would mean he would come across guards.
He started calculating, realizing such a big space would definitely have guards around.
“Where am I?!”, he asked himself as he looked around.
In the far left side of where he stood, he saw a lady, her back turned to him as she swept the dried leaves on the floor.
Seeking to ask the lady questions, he quickly ran towards her, not thinking about the security cameras or the guards.
“Hello!”, the man called out, as he ran towards her with a limp.
Desperate for an escape, the man called out again, his voice louder so she would hear, “hello!”.
Isabella who was lost in thought finally heard the man shout, thus she turned around to see who was trying to get her attention.
Isabella saw a very unfamiliar face, thus, she moved back cautiously as she squinted her eyebrows.
Seeing that the lady wasn't saying anything as he got closer, he thought the lady didn't understand English.
However, Isabella was only being cautious as she stepped back, not saying anything.
“Hi, can, can you help me?!”, the man managed to ask despite trying to catch his breath.
“I need to leave …!”Isabella jumped as a round bloody hole appeared in the middle of his eye.
He had been shot in the head!
Isabella looked in horror as the man's body dropped to the floor.
The sound of the gunshot was loud enough to get everyone's attention in the usually quiet mansion.
Isabella could definitely say she has had two people being shot in her face ever since she got to know The Don.
Her body didn't go into shock by blanking out, this time, she threw up right beside the body.
Luciano watched their Interaction and basically the yard fifty minutes before, thus, he knew she wasn't snooping around trying to help people.
Raising her head to see that Luciano had been the one to shoot the man, the feeling of fear lodged itself deeply in Isabella's heart.
The thought of escaping she had been ruminating on suddenly evaporating.
She stared at him visibly shaken as he looked unfazed.
‘he literally just unalived someone!’, Isabella thought as she bent over to throw up again.
Wiping her mouth clean, the tears slid down her cheeks as she wondered when she would leave the horror.
The guards rushed towards Luciano as a result of the gunshot they had heard.
Isabella was unable to factor in the conversation in her head as she heard a loud ringing in her ears.
She stared at the body again, looking to see that the man’s blood had formed a pool around his body.
Coupled with the things she had been thinking before, everything felt too much for her to handle.
Feeling very light headed, she fainted, her body falling to the ground with a heavy thud.
Luciano, who was addressing his men on the poor job they had done, was cut short as he saw Isabella on the ground, her face pale and her eyes closed.
He quickly bent over to pick her up, her uniform already getting stained with the man’s blood.
“Clean this up!”, Luciano said with a stern face as he approached the back door.
Madam Paula and Mia who were just coming out after hearing the gunshot were rather appalled to see The Don carrying Isabella.
“Oh no!”, Mia said as she shared a look with Madam Paula.
“Could it be ?!”, Mia thought as she wondered if the boss had shot Isabella.
Not caring to explain what had happened, Luciano simply said, “where's her room!”
